Boston
It had been a month since her return from Jakarta, Veronika had always locked herself inside her room. He came out just for college or just bought his favorite book or novel.
Veronika loves Samudra too much, even all the items related to the man never escape his touch, then after he cried bitterly in memory of his beautiful moment with the Ocean.
"Ver... Why are you? Mama's been watching since coming home from Thailand, how does it look so grim?" asked a beautiful woman about forty years old.
Beautiful women with waist curls and oriental faces like Veronika.
Veronika shook her head, staring doubtfully at the mother.
"Actually- yesterday Vero wasn't to Thailand, Ma." Veronika said softly, looking at her mother and hoping that she would not scold her.
"You mean?"
"Vero to Jakarta equals Samudra."
The woman's netra was glaring.
"Why lie to Mama, hm? Mama said we don't have to go back to Indonesia."
"But Vero kangen Jakarta, Ma. There used to be a lot of Vero there."
"Where are your friends?! Do they care about you? And again where are the men who used to come here often? What was his name?!"
"Samudra, Ma.." - Veronika.
"We broke up. He mutusin Ver," Veronika said with a sad expression.
Freya, the mother who was about to get angry because her daughter was sassy to Jakarta without her knowledge, now suddenly softened a little to see the sadness of the princess just wayangnya.
"He killed Ver because of that damn chick, but she was Samudra's sister."
"What?!" Freya had an astonished expression.
"Not real siblings, only they grew up together. They are brothers." Veronika grunted in annoyance. Then rested his head on Freya's lap. The woman who now looks beautiful at the age of about forty years.
Freya once desperately loved Samuel.
"Ver doesn't accept being treated by the ocean that way!" veronica's snort in Freya's lap.
Freya rubbed the tip of her son's hair and suddenly a shadow of his past flashback reappeared.
"Ma.." said Veronika awakened her mother's daydream.
"Eh-em-iya?"
"And the two elders of the Ocean were very good with Ver."
"really?" Freya frowned in wonder.
"Hm" nodded Veronika.
"Udah Mama said right? the men are all the same. Both bastard!"
"Ver does not accept being cut off because of a snot girl like Samantha."
Freya was shocked to hear Veronika's last words.
"Who was that? Sam--Samantha?"
"Yes, Ma. Samantha the chick is unclear!"
"Who is the name of Samudra's parents?" ask Freya.
"Aunty Maya and Om Samuel."
Freya's expression changed. His face was pale when he heard the two names.
"Ma... Mama why are you so surprised?"
"You said Ocean wasn't whose brother it was? Samantha?" ask Freya to make sure.
"Yes, according to the story, their parents were not siblings. Ocean son of Martha's ex-wife Om Sam who cheated on her with a doctor."
Veronika explained.
"Emang yes Ma, all men are cheaters. Samudra...." Veronika snorted, her two neutrals were now glaring sharply given the figure of the Ocean.
Freya could only remain silent. Apparently love clapping one hand used to repeat itself to his son.
Freya now stood up from her seat and walked away from Veronika without a word.
"Ma.... Where's mama going?" Veronika frowned in surprise at the change in the attitude of the mother.
...
Veronika exhaled many times, trying to remove the shadow of the Ocean from her head all along. Still can't... Repeatedly he tried but the shadow seemed to want to linger in the contents of his head.
Ocean. All this time I've been so fond of you.
I can't without you the Ocean again.
Veronika stood up from her sleep and grabbed a black box from the top of her wardrobe.
He opened the lid of the box and took out one by one the contents from it.
A half-hearted gold pendant necklace giving Ocean her birthday.
Veronika could recall that moment. The ocean took him to one of the Japanese restaurants in Boston. Because Veronika really likes Japanese food, so Samudra took the girl to a special food restaurant that mostly made from fresh fish.
"Happy birthday honey...." Say Samudra while draping a necklace with a broken heart.
Now Veronika can understand why Samudra changed his attitude since before he decided to return to Indonesia.
It was the love of Samantha that made the man do it all.
Samudra said that he loved that high school girl since she was a teenager? What the hell? thought Veronika.
So all this time the Ocean never really loved him? ask Veronika in heart.
A small grin suddenly formed at both corners of Veronika's thin lips. The photo of the Ocean in his hand, suddenly he was torn into pieces.
"Haha! You can't be that easy to get rid of me, Samudra.." grinned Veronika.
"Hiks..hiks... I love Samudra.... I love you like crazy, bastard..."
Veronika sometimes laughed and sometimes cried herself.
Highlight his eyes briefly look cute and intermittently so unsettled. The sharp glare of her eyes made the face of the beautiful girl look so sinister.
"Wait for a surprise from me, baby... Hehehehe.." muttered Veronika while reuniting the snags of the photo.
to be continue....
