❤️❤️❤️
On a clear Sunday, Qia and I will join Lydia in attending a routine study at the Grand Mosque.
“Mbak, ready yet?” tanya Lydia approached the house.
“Already Tea.”
“Mbak sorry once. But, is there no long veil until it closes the chest?”
“Lho, what happened to the veil I was wearing?” I wonder why I should also wear a long veil like her.
Honestly, I feel sultry and complicated if I have to wear a long veil. For me all veils are the same, its function is to cover the head.
“Mbak ... we hooded not just to cover our heads, but to close the aurat,” he explained while smiling as if he understood what I was thinking.
“So my veil must be replaced nih?”
“Actually wearing a rectangular veil is also okay. But, don't be wrapped around the neck. That's his chest so visible,” he said did not escape from a smile.
Both of my twin mountains do look sexy, especially the dress that I wear made from lycra. So the type of fabric falls and follows the curves of the body. All this time I never thought about the appearance to detail. I am not a hijab woman either.
“Continued?”
“Because the hood is less wide, so just let it dangle like this and pin it in front of him so that the part is tight.” Lidia helped me tidy up my veil to cover my chest. “Oya, Mbak has a cardigan or vest no?” continued.
“Punya.”
“Try to use as a complement. It must be more beautiful.”
I also immediately took one of the cardigans whose color matches the dress. I sit in front of the mirror after wearing it. I felt myself more elegant and awake with the hijab. Does it seem that I should also be hijab in my daily life?
“Mbak, not yet?” ask Lydia from the front to make my daydreams amby.
“Oh yes, already.”
I immediately went back to the front where Lydia was waiting.
“Subhanallah, beautiful Sister Salma,” compliments.
“Ah Tet. He ...”
“Serius you know, already beautiful, the obligation is also fulfilled.”
“Obligation? What is the obligation of Tea?”
“Yuk, we chat while walking so as not to bad luck, yes!”
“Ok.”
We're using my car. I drove it and Lidia carried little Qia.
“See, Qia just keeps staring at you, Ma'am!”
“Iya, yes. She doesn't know her Momi when it's veiled.”
“Not unknown, but pangling. Kok, Momi I'm so graceful, huh?”
“Hehe .. oya Tea, earlier what obligation is meant?” I asked him again because I really didn't understand.
“Obligation to close aurat, Ma'am. Our aura as women is all over the body except the face and palms.”
“What? So the law is mandatory?”
“Iya, Ma'am. The order to close the aurat is in the letter Al-Ahzab paragraph 59.”
Lydia explained the content in the letter. That Allah SWT ordered all women, including from the wives of the Prophet to the daughters of the Prophet, to wear polite clothes with a veil that covers the body. Especially when I get out of the house.
The order is intended to protect women from the interference of those who abuse opportunity. As in the days of the Prophet, the veil could distinguish the free women from the slaves of the time. Today, it is differentiated from non-Muslim women. By closing the aurat also aims so that women can maintain their honor.
In Muslim history hadith mentioned that the best jewelry of the world is a righteous woman. It is said to be right if the woman obeys the commandments of Allah and shuns her prohibition. One of Allah's commands that must be carried out by Muslim women is to close the aurat.
Women in Islam are highly respected. It's worth a diamond. If we had jewelry as precious as diamonds, would we just keep it? Put it on the table? Or keep it without wrapping it? What contrary? We store them carefully in a closed box. Saving it is certainly not in just any place. Yes ‘kan? Well, that's. The more we close the aurat according to the guidance of sharia, the more valuable we are.
Closing the aurat according to the shari'a what is like? Her clothes were not thin, not glaring. Not tight so that shows the body bend. Do not wear perfume that stings when out of the house. The scent of perfume that can provoke men when they smell it.
I kept hearing every explanation Lydia gave me. The more I get here, the more interested I get.
“But I guess I'm not ready yet, tea if you have to veil really.”
“Aprepared?”
“Kan I want to improve myself first. Later if his heart is good, new deh veiled.”
Jem! Why are his words so hard on the heart?
After chatting, finally arrived at the Grand Mosque. There were already many people present.
Although for the first time invited to the crowd, Alhamdulillah Qia was not fussy. He just seems happy. Like supporting her momi to attend a lecture regularly. The presence of children is always giving life to be more meaningful and colorful.
About an hour later the ustaz spoke. His lecture made the mothers present feel nothing. Know that the ustaz has read the closing prayer only.
“His lecture every week is about household, Teh?”
“No. It also changes every week. Take turns. His name is Ustadz Hadi. Her favorite mom-mak.”
“Cakep, yes?” my whiskey.
“Yes that. Widower again.”
“Duda?”
“Iya. His wife died giving birth to her second child one year ago.”
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un.”
"Eit, watch your eyes, yeah!" Lydia reminded.
We stopped whispering as the ustadz approached.
“Assalamualaikum,” a friendly sap while cupping hands on chest.
“Waalikum greetings, ustaz.”
“Now visits to which Orphanage?”
“Mother Love Orphanage, Taz.”
“Oh, yes. Mr. Irsyad has a hitch. He could not come today and represent to ana,” explained ustaz.
“Oh so Ustaz. Oh yeah, this is my friend, Taz. Name's Salma. He just joined today.” Lydia introduced.
“Oh pantes new view. Welcome aboard. Hopefully at home, with our community,” welcomes him warmly while maintaining the view.
“Yes, god willing Ustaz.”
“Then let's Tea. I'm first, yeah!” ustaz.
"Yes, please, Tax."
I just followed Lydia who then met some pilgrims who wanted to participate to Orphanage. They also briefly discuss financial statements. Don't forget Lydia introduced me as a new member.
We also went together and there were some pilgrims who joined the bell on my four wheels. I'm glad that the vehicle I own finally has more benefits.
“Teh Lydia, her friend seminal gelis pisan (very beautiful),” praise one of the pilgrims named Mira.
“Iya. Same with us-us. Mbak Salma is indeed kinclong,” added Wati, still a member of the congregation.
“Ah mom, don't overdo it,” my response while still focusing on driving the car.
“Serious. Salma is beautiful. Fine again,” staunch Mira.
“His husband is very lucky,” timpal Wati.
“I have no husband, Mom,”.
“Oh, sorry. I don't know,” regret Wati.
“So Sister Salma is widowed, yes?” Mira.
“Iya, Mum.”
“Wah, then it fits perfectly with ustaz Hadi,” chirps Mira.
“Agree!” exclaim Wati.
Lydia glanced at me and cleared her throat, “ekhm ...”
Guyonan mothers instantly make this face warm.
Hm ... Some are betrothed, here's 🤭
