My Soul in Grandpa's Hands

My Soul in Grandpa's Hands
Grandpa Cokro

After the congregation's Fajr prayer, Aleta invited the sisters of the home to do nature tadabbur. Today he deliberately did not make a market snack cake, so he could accompany the sisters around the village, while enjoying the natural scenery at the foot of the Thousand mountains. Every Friday Aleta always take the time to accompany the sisters to make an activity together.

"Sir Aleta.., Susi and Santi can go there." asked Susi by pointing to the river embankment Birin. The river as a barrier that separates the village of Dengkeng and Kadilanggon Village.

"Go, but don't go through the river." Aleta's message.

"Yes, sister, we're there." said Susi and Santi running towards the edge of the embankment.

While the other five boys tried to catch ladybugs that are attached to the krangkong plant.

Aleta walked on foot by stretching her hands breathing the air of morning freshness. An expanding smile always rose on his lips, looking at the happiness of the sisters of the home even though it was just by doing something simple.

Occasionally neighbors pass by using bicycles to work in the rice fields. Currently in the village is growing rice season, so some farmers have left for rice fields in the morning to make seedlings by seeding.

"Mbak Aleta.., the clock is still on the streets, what is today not to the market." asked Mbah Karyo, a neighbor who lives at the end of the village.

"Mboten (no) Mbah, today Aleta has promised the sisters for the morning walk after the morning prayer. Mbah Karyo badhe act of sabin (You want to go to the rice fields)? answer Aleta.

"Yes son, want tandur (plant rice). Waste first yes."

"Jih Mbah, Monggo. (yes Mbah, come)."

Aleta unknowingly had her feet on the banks of the Birin River. Suddenly we heard the screams of Santi and Susi

"Sir Aleta. there is a corpse." he cried while covering his face, while one hand pointed to the side of the embankment.

Aleta immediately rushed over to Susi and Santi, then calmed the two down.

"It is, calm down. Try brother check first. Try to get Joko and Iwan here."

Aleta saw a grandfather covered in blood lying on the edge of the embankment. Finally he crouched down, and ventured to check on her condition. Aleta held the forehead, and took the grandfather's wrist. He still felt a weak pulse, and there was a warm feeling on his forehead which signified that there was still life.

Suddenly the grandfather opened his eyes weakly.

"Water." whispered the old man asking for water.

"You guys are here." Aleta called out to the sisters.

"What's up, brother," asked some of the younger brothers.

"So someone brought water not from the parlour."

"I brought my sister, but only one small bottle." said Koko.

Koko hands Aleta a bottle of water. Aleta receives a bottle from Koko, and slowly opens it and then carefully delivers it to her newly awakened grandfather. After a while

"Assalamualaikum, grandfather is conscious" he asked softly.

Grandpa nodded his head. He looked at the girl and children in front of him one by one.

"Grandfather, because grandfather's body is weak and full of wounds, our grandfather took him home first to the orphanage."

"Let us treat the wounds on grandfather's body."

"Our grandfather used to be a cake, because we are not strong if we have to hold grandfather."

The grandfather smiled and again just nodded his head. Then Aleta assisted some of the siblings of the home that the male memapah grandfather, to take him to rest in the orphanage.

Arriving at the orphanage they laid the body of the grandfather in the bale-bale in the middle room.

"Iwan, ask for hot water in the kitchen yes then put in a bucket and continue to give tap water.

"Susi, tell the house mom if there are guests who need help."

"Go to the kitchen, ask Ms. Ida to make some porridge.'

Aleta divided the task one-on-one to the sisters. Then he himself took the medicine box and some cassa cloth and alcohol.

"What's the matter, son, who's this grandpa who's brought here." asked Miss Rosna worriedly.

"Not yet to know, Aleta and the sisters found him lying on the edge of the embankment. Her body is full of wounds, this is Aleta trying to clean it up." Aleta told me briefly about grandfather.

"Yes, I'll prepare hot tea first in the kitchen."

Before long Iwan brought a small bucket to the middle room. After dipping her finger for the test to mark the level of hot water, Aleta slowly moistened the cassa with the water. Then with full patience, Aleta wiped all the dirt on the grandfather's body.

"Koko, help sister huh. Get the sarong on mom. Grandpa's clothes are very dirty, you'll help grandpa change his clothes."

"Yes Aleta" answered Koko then moved to look for Ms. Rosna.

In the middle room Aleta looks painstakingly feeding the grandfather she just found on the edge of the embankment. After his body was cleaned and changed his clothes, grandfather looked very clean with some parts of his body wrapped in cassa and plaster. Although he was old, good looks in the past still appeared on his face.

"Thank you son, I promise. Grandfather will repay all the kindness of the residents of this orphanage." said grandfather in a weak voice.

"Grandpa rest first yes, do not think much first. What matters is that grandfather recovers, just thinking about something else

" said Aleta.

After finishing feeding grandfather, Aleta prepared a white color pill.

"Grandfather, the doctor at Puskesmas can only come here later in the afternoon."

"After consulting him, he advised grandfather to temporarily take this medicine first. This drug is to relieve pain and prevent inflammation." Aleta gave the pill a white color and a glass of water.

Grandpa obeyed what Aleta said. He immediately took his medicine.

"Son, what's your name." asked the grandfather with a smile. He did not stop looking at Aleta's face.

"My name is Aleta Grandpa. I'm one of the foster children in this orphanage. My parents are both dead, and I've taken a parlour mother to be raised in this parlour." Aleta introduced herself.

"Good name, as good as your heart and behavior."

"Grandfather's name is Cokrodirjo nak Aleta. The child can call grandfather Cokro."

"Good grandpa Cokro. Now grandfather rest first yes, Aleta wants to help settle in the back." said Aleta to Grandpa Cokro. Before leaving Aleta covered the body of Grandpa Cokro with Balinese cloth made of Santung cloth.

After Aleta, Cokro's grandfather quickly fell asleep, because one of the effects of the drug is that it can cause drowsiness.

In the kitchen Aleta deftly helped prepare breakfast. Ms. Rosna was also busy frying tofu and tempeh.

"Mom doesn't mind if Cokro's grandfather is here for a while until he's healed" Aleta asked the housewife.

"Yes not to son. We are to help anyone who is in trouble. It just so happens that the injured grandparents are in trouble and need our help" Ms. Rosna said with a sincere smile.

"But he was a bad man, no, ma'am, if it turns out to be evil, how's Mom."

"Aleta.., don't mostly think the no-no."

"Evil or not it will be seen later. What's important right now is our duty and duty to help him."

"Yes, too, Mom. But Aleta will feel very guilty, if it turns out that Cokro's grandfather was a bad person. It was Aleta Bu who brought her home."

"O. his name is Grandpa Cokro."

"You're starting again to think a no-no."

"Here, the mat is called the same as your sisters, then the food is the same plate prepared."

"Your sisters are hungry. They're gonna be going to school soon."

"Good Mom." without denying Aleta immediately did as Rosna's mother ordered.
