I don't think lunch time has arrived. My father's disciples and I were gathered under a shady tree. Waiting for food from mom and sister June. In her spare time, sister June helps with my mother's work such as washing, cooking, and cleaning the room. Even though my mother forbade it, Brother June insisted on helping.  Said “so there's work.” I just laughed when I heard that. And now, the food has come. Brother June and my mother brought food and approached us. When Brother June came, the other disciples were whispering.

“They must be talking about Brother June. Seeing it really pisses me off.” I thought.

Then suddenly all the disciples looked at Brother June. And damn it June's sister blushed in shame. He put his food in front of us.

“This is the food.” Brother June is embarrassed.

Instantly all the students there said “Thank you” in unison with silly faces. Brother June's face flushed. He immediately pulled away and ran small towards the house. My mother who was with him laughed a little when she saw Brother June entering the house. When my mother put down the food, she saw my annoyed face. Back my mother laughed and followed Brother June into the house.

My father, my father, and his students ate the food that June and my mother brought. Simple foods that are easy to eat without spoons and forks are like sandwich bread. While the students talk. I ate my food without talking to anyone. Suddenly one of my father's students greeted me.

“Hei son. You were really great earlier.” He patted my shoulder. And laugh cheerfully. He looks young. Her hair was yellow and straight. But his ears aren't pointy, he's not an Elf. I just smiled awkwardly in response to her compliment. He asked back. “How old are you? Oh yes my name is Fred, I am 16 years old.”

“Hooh. She's the same age as me. Uh, but that was my age before I came into this world. That means I'm 22 now. Waw, my age is already that big it turns out.” I thought when I heard her age. I looked at him and said. “My life is two pu – uh I mean six years.” I smiled awkwardly. “Almost I'm a release.”

“In that age you can already do sword skill?!” Suddenly one of the other students asked me. This time it was a short-haired brunette. “My name is Criss. Nice to meet you.”

The rest of the students introduced themselves. Unlike the others, they are twins.

“Hi I'm Carl and this is Curl. I'm a brother and he's a sister. We are the same but different.” He hugged his brother to get closer to him. I laughed at the resemblance. It is different only in the color of her hair. Carl's red-haired and Curl's brown-haired.

“My name is Alvin, I'm 6 years old.”

“Wow 6 years!” said Fred. I just nodded.

I remembered that my father had five students. I looked to the right and left looking for the fifth disciple. My gaze stopped on a little girl who seemed to be about the same age as me under a tree. Eating sandwiches while looking up at the sky. I don't know why he looks sad. Criss realized that I was watching the girl.

“The girl Mirana. He has incredible sword skills. But from the first moment he was here he was always alone. Just try greeting him. It's possible, he's more open to you.” 

“Ya, try.” My father suddenly slapped me. “His father and I are good friends. His father was actually the real best sword knight. But he died while holding a dragon to buy his friends time to return safely. Although he was an extremely strong sword knight, yet no one could fight a single dragon alone. I heard the news when his friend had reached the city.” 

I was stunned to hear that. But there is one thing that is not certain. It's possible that his father is still alive somewhere. He was left without his condition known. I also ventured to say hello to Mirana. I walked to where he was sitting. 

“Can I sit here?” I tried to sit near him. She's staring. Dam nodded without saying anything. “What's your name?” my continue. He looked back at me. I began to feel uncomfortable in my presence.

“My name is Mirana Starfold.” Cold answer. He doesn't seem to want to be disturbed. But I didn't just give up.

“I'm Alvin Carlos. Nice to meet you.” I smiled at him. He looked at me expressionlessly.

 “You son of master Martin huh?”

I'm nodding.

“You will definitely beat.”

I was shocked to hear the declaration of war from him. Does this have anything to do with her father?

He left me who was still silent. Continued training.

I went back to Mirana. Tried to calm him. But it backfired on me. “Hei Mirana, relax. If I'm wrong to say I'm sorry. This has nothing to do with my dad?”

He just shut up. Didn't say anything. Just swinging his wooden sword. And it pisses me off.

“Hey, answer me Mirana.”

He stopped swinging the sword. Stare at me. I just kept quiet seeing his behavior. He pointed his sword at me.

“Duel with me. Me and you. I can't possibly lose to master Martin's son like my father dueled him.” Face hardens. I was nervous to hear the challenge. “You won't reject it? Alvin Carlos?”

“I allow it.” My father was suddenly next to me. It seems like dad heard my conversation with Mirana from earlier. I looked annoyed at him. He just laughed looking at my upset face.

 Mirana and I will duel on the front page. The straw scarecrow that was there was removed. Mirana and I were about 5 meters away. My father was in the middle of refereeing our duel.

“If anyone gives up, loses consciousness, or the match I stop, then the duel is over. There's no revenge here. Fight with honesty. Understand you?”

We both nodded.

“Alright, then START!!”

Mirana and I quickly prepared the horses. I held the sword with one hand. So did Mirana. A few seconds later Mirana's sword emitted a yellow light. He will use the sword skill. Suddenly, Mirana's sword was in front of my eyes. As fast as lightning I avoided it. I was almost stabbed. From his movements earlier he used the [Front] skill. After taking a few steps back, I used the [Vertical Slash] skill that I just learned earlier.

Currently I have mastered the 4 sword skills. [Front], [Round Hit], [Vertical Slash], and [Horizontal Slash].

[Vertical Slash] is a simple skill that slashes from top to bottom, or vice versa.

My sword let out a blue light, I held the sword with both hands. My sword is over Mirana's head. But Mirana's faster. He jumped back and immediately used the [Front] skill. Fortunately, I dodged it quickly. But my upper arm is scratched. He's really great.

I didn't stop there. After dodging to the left, I immediately used the [Horizontal Slash] skill.

[Horizontal Slash] is a skill to slash straight to the side.

My sword is moving in the opposite direction. I'm losing balance. I took off my sword and turned to the right. Avoiding the Mirana prick. This time I lost my gun.

“M Surrender. You've lost your weapon. I admit you're pretty good at surviving my attacks.” 

“Yeah, you're a great Mirana. But I have something you don't seem to have.” I stood up and raised my hand to the side. “Water sword.” Instantly in my hand gathered a wisp of water and formed a sword. “You didn't say it was a sword duel. Well, now I have a gun. I still haven't lost.”

Mirana let out a breath. “You don't know when to give up. Then I will bring out all my strength. You also took out all your abilities.” He raised his sword. I smiled hearing it. 

I ran towards Mirana. He attacked his right shoulder. Mirana repelled my attack. I pushed him over the ape until he was knocked back. I used the sword skill [Vertical Slash] from the bottom. Mirana jumped back avoiding my attack. I continued my attack. I used the sword skill [Front]. He turned to the left side. And that moment in an instant..... Mirana was beside me.

“At the moment I'm serious.” said Mirana.

I immediately repelled his attack. I was still astonished because the speed was again shocked. Mirana was already behind me and slashed at me with her wooden sword. I'm fallin. My sword returned to water and entered the ground.

I immediately turned forward keeping my distance from him. When I faced him, he wasn't there. I stood up and looked to the right and left. But when I did that, I realized that he was on my left. I immediately repelled the attack by crossing my hands. I was blown away and scattered on the ground. She's staring. The victory was in his hands.

“This time surrender.”

“Not going.” my word refused.

I used the [Heal] skill to heal my wounds. I stood straight facing Mirana. I used the [Air Shield] skill . Magic skills for defense. I smiled at him. “I know what you're using. You used the [Accel] skill. That skill is quite hard to learn. And can increase the speed of the wearer. I'm amazed you can learn that.”

“Thank you for the compliment." Mirana smile. "Great you can know what I'm using. But that doesn't change the fact that you can't follow me.”

“We just see.”

Mirana is back using [Accel] . He's completely invisible to me. [Accel] is a really great skill. But I also have the same great magic skill. I focused my mind. I plan on using a skill that can stop the speed from [Accel] . I stretched out my hand and pressed my palm against the ground.

“Earthshake.” Instantly the ground shook violently. Mirana lost her balance and fell. Without wasting a chance, I ran towards him. I ran while stretching out my right hand and using [Water Sword] magic.

Mirana can't dodge. I was already in front of him. He drew a sword and stabbed it. But he swiftly pointed his sword at my neck. And my father stopped his fight.

“ENOUGH! STOP FIGHTING!!”

After the voice was heard, we both stopped our movements. My water sword is in front of Mirana's face. As soon as the wooden sword, it was in front of my neck. It seems this is not my victory. I pulled my water sword back from his face. I thrust my hand at Mirana. He looked at me confused. I was embarrassed to see his face.

“Nih, my hands are starting to limp tau. Accept my help.” I said annoyedly covering my maluku. She smiled and accepted my hand.

I helped him stand up too. There were cheers and applause from the other students. My father walked up to us clapping his hands.

“One great! Mirana's ability and her reflexes. While Alvin, anticipate it with magic."

I smiled awkwardly at my father's words.

"Yes, there was no mention that this was just a sword fight. Congratulations to you both. And the result is...”.

We both waited. Even though I lost, I didn't think too much about it. Mirana is great. Until the end he did not give up on being cornered by me.

“SERI!” Excited father.

I'm astonished. Am I not the most wounded and wounded? I looked at Mirana. His face doesn't seem to matter. Am I the one who feels something is wrong here? Mirana looked at me and smiled.

“Actually I was also injured.” Mirana pointed at her right ankle. “When you make the ground vibrate, my legs sprain. So we're balanced, huh?” This time a sincere smile emerged from his face. I was surprised to see his smile.

“She can make such a face also turns.” Thought. After that I realized that Mirana was injured. I ducked closer to Mirana's feet. “Sit down, I'll cure you.”

Mirana sat down. I put my hand to his right foot. A green light appeared around my hand. Mirana whimpering small. His ankle is starting to look better. I asked Mirana.

“It feels better.”

“But it seems like this wound will not heal quickly, it may take a week to heal it.”.

Mirana looks sad to hear my words.

“Well, since this result is a series, next time I will beat you. So, get ready!” I smiled at him broadly.

Mirana smiled faintly and turned into an arrogant smile. “You should be prepared.”

I seem to have managed to encourage him a little. We both laughed together. His father and students smiled at the two of us.

“Oh yes, I'm curious. Why do you want to duel with me?”  my many.

“It's because of my dad. My father could beat your father. Then I should be able to defeat the son of Master Martin.” Mirana answered honestly.

I laughed again. Today, I have a new rival and friend.
