My Mother is a Transvestite
Restless and Decision

The light brown wood floor in the living room of Ana's house was slightly creaking as she paced back and forth. His right hand held Dinda's letter tightly, while the fingers of his left hand danced near his chin, a sign that his mind was raging. Each step creates a regular rhythm, as if reflecting an erratic heartbeat. The sunlight that barged through the gaps of the window curtains created a long shadow of Ana on the floor, moving in rhythm with her steps.

From the corner of the room, Ima and Joseph looked at each other. Both of them could feel the uneasiness that filled the room. Ima touched Joseph's arm and whispered, "You feel like something's wrong with Mom, don't you?"

Joseph nodded, "I've never seen him so agitated. What was written in the letter?"

The two of them then decided to approach Ana, wanting to calm her down in their own way. "Mother," said Ima gently, stopping Ana's steps, "Why does Mom seem so anxious?"

Ana looked at her two apprehensive foster child's eyes. He took a deep breath, trying to string the words together well. "This letter is from someone very special in my past" he said, his voice trembling.

Before Ana continued, Yusuf, with his sweet smile, said, "Does Mom what we do when we feel anxious or sad first?"

Without waiting for an answer, Joseph and Ima began singing Ana's favorite song when they were children. The voices of the two filled the room, expelling the anxiety that had once prevailed. Ana, enchanted, feels warm and flooded by memories of the past. He recalled the times when they sang the song together, in times of difficulty or happiness.

Ima approached Ana and hugged her tightly, "We are always there for Mom. Don't forget that."

Ana returned Ima's embrace and in a trembling voice said, "Thank you. I decided to call Dinda. There's a lot we need to talk about."

Joseph, in his spirit, said, "We support Mother's decision. Don't be afraid to face the past."

Ana smiled gently, feeling strengthened by her two adopted children. "You're right. Time to finish what's not done."

While sitting on the sofa, Ana picks up her phone and starts typing the number written on the letter. His heart was pounding, but with the support of Ima and Joseph, he felt ready for whatever was to come.

Ana's house was filled with the vanilla and cinnamon scent of the aromatherapy candle she had just lit. The chandelier on the dining table emits a soft glow, adding a warm and soothing feel to the room. In the distance, the sound of water swirling from a small pond in the garden behind the house adds to the tranquility of the atmosphere.

Ana sits at her dresser, looking at her reflection in the mirror. In a slow motion, he picked up a comb and began to comb his long black hair. He tried to tidy it up perfectly, hoping to give a good impression when he met Dinda.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Yusuf and Ima were sitting on the sofa, opening an old brown photo album they found on the bookshelf. Sheet by sheet they turned around, and in each photo, there were portraits of Ana and Dinda who looked so familiar and happy.

"Looking at these photos, it looks like Mom and Dinda are very close, yes" Ima said, showing a photo where Ana and Dinda were laughing off the beach.

Joseph nodded, "They looked so happy. I hope the meeting goes well."

Suddenly, Ana appears from behind them, "Which photo did you see?" he asked in a light tone, but his eyes were full of curiosity.

Ima shows one of the photos featuring Ana and Dinda against the background of the mountain. "Mom looks so young here."

Ana smiled, reminiscing about the past. "That's when we went camping on the mountain together. Dinda has always been my encouragement. He always said that we should cherish every moment of life."

Yusuf, with shining eyes, asked, "Are you nervous for a meeting?"

Ana took a deep breath, showing a mixed expression. "certain. But at the same time feel excited. There are so many memories I want to remember back with Dinda."

Ima, with a gentle look, said, "We support Mom's decision. Whatever happens, we'll always be by Mom's side."

After a while of sharing her memories, Ana decides to continue the preparations for her meeting with Dinda. She chooses the right clothes, a soft perfume, and makes sure everything is perfect.

Meanwhile, Yusuf and Ima decide to make Ana's favorite snack as a form of support. They know that the meeting is not an easy one for Ana, but with the support of the family, they believe Ana can get through it well.

The sky was light blue, with thin clouds moving framing the city. The warm morning sunlight shines through the city streets and illuminates the small cafe located on the corner of the street. From inside the cafe, the smell of fresh coffee spread, attracting the passing visitors. At one of the tables by the window, Ana sat down, her right hand holding a coffee cup while her left hand toyed with a small spoon.

The decoration of the cafe is simple but elegant, with vintage-shaped chandeliers and exposed brick walls that give a warm impression. The large trees outside the cafe add to the natural atmosphere with the leaves moving slowly due to the wind.

Mimik Ana showed uneasiness. His eyes occasionally stared at the cafe door, waiting for the figure he had long since missed. His face looked tense, yet behind it, there was a burning hope.

Soon, the cafe door opened and a woman with long, choppy hair appeared, wearing a simple yet graceful dress. That's Dinda. Their eyes met, and in an instant, all the restlessness dissipated, replaced by deep happiness.

"Dinda," Ana whispered, her voice filled with emotion.

"Ana," Dinda replied in a soft voice, the two women walked up to each other and hugged tightly, as if the world around them was disappearing.

After a few minutes, the two let go of a hug. Dinda smiled, "You look unchanged, Ana."

Ana bit her lips, held back tears, "You too, Dinda. Always beautiful as before."

Dinda laughed lightly, "Thank you. Let's sit down, we have a lot to talk about."

The two of them sat facing each other, talking about old memories, the challenges they faced, and how life brought them to this point. Every story, every memory, brings the two women closer together.

Meanwhile, in a park a few blocks from the cafe, Yusuf and Ima were relaxing in the shade of a big tree. They laughed and played with a group of children they had just met. The sound of children's laughter echoed in the park, creating a cheerful atmosphere.

Ima sat beside Joseph, "Looking at these children playing makes me think how precious friendship and family are."

Joseph nodded, "Rubber. No matter how hard life is, as long as we have people who care, we can get through it."

Ima smiled, "Like Mom and Dinda. They have each other in difficult moments, and that's what makes them strong."

Joseph looked up at the sky, "May the meeting of Mother and Dinda today bring happiness to both."

Back at the cafe, after hours of conversation, Ana and Dinda decide to split up. They hugged again, this time longer, with a promise to keep in touch and keep their friendship.

"Thank you, Dinda," Ana said with teary eyes.

Dinda rubbed Ana's cheek, "Thank you too, Ana. See you soon."

The two women then walked in different directions, carrying memories and hopes for a better future.
