My Inline Husband

My Inline Husband
Chapter 39

Next day

Today I've been waiting for my wife in the hospital. Usually he would come and check on the condition of the mother. But from morning till noon I didn't see him coming into my mother's room.

I started to get nervous, scared and so anxious. I'm afraid he's running from me again. I haven't explained everything to him yet.

Stupidly I asked where he lives now.

The nurse came to check on my mother. I am relieved that the more days his condition improves. When the nurse was about to leave the mother's room, I stopped her. I want to ask about my wife who usually handles mother, why until now has not come.

The nurse's answer surprised me. He said that Doctor Anggi was taking his annual leave. True allegations. It seems my wife still misunderstood me. I asked where my wife lived. I finally got the address.

I left my mother to some of the nurses there before Gerad came. I called my assistant.

I decided to go to the address the nurse gave me. I can't wait to explain everything so that my wife doesn't avoid me anymore.

Arriving at the address, I immediately ran small, impatient to meet my wife. I also want to meet my son.

I knocked on the door of the house. But several times I knocked on it, there was no word or sign of anyone in this house. I saw that the car my wife used to drive was not there either. It seems like today is not my lucky day.

I also got back in my car. I decided to go to the shopping mall to buy a present for my son. I'll come back later.

Arriving at a mall, I went straight to the toy store. Because I don't know if my son is a girl or a boy, I'll buy toys for both.

In between my steps, I passed a children's playground. I saw some kids playing with laughter. I also smile too. Imagine if my son played there for sure he would be very happy.

But I saw a little girl who was falling and crying. I saw him alone, no one helped the little girl. What a pity for him.

I walked closer to him. I carried her tiny body and wiped her tears. I'm trying to win her over so I don't cry anymore.

The little girl stopped crying. Now he looks at me so funny. I immediately remembered my wife as I stared at the little girl. Equally adorable. If only I had a daughter as cute as him ....

Ah, apparently I was wondering too much.

"It's okay, Uncle. Chaki wants Mama" he said.

I don't know who Mama is. I asked her if her mother was here, but she shook her head.

"Mama was there, Chaki was fine waiting for Mama," he said again.

I also nodded in understanding. Maybe her mom is shopping. Then I offered to buy him ice cream. And he looks so enthusiastic.

We finally bought ice cream. He ate it so funny. Lips are smudged. Why is it that every time I look at this little girl, I always think of my wife?

After finishing the ice cream, I brought him back to the playground. My chest rippled as I carried her. I feel like his only Papa.

In between my steps, the little girl in my arms. Shouting to call his mother. Looks like her mom's in front of there. I also stepped quickly.

I saw from a distance the figure of a girl who was so familiar. My heart was pumped back up fast. My mind was wondering what I saw right now.

The girl up ahead is my wife. He walked quickly to me. I was even stunned when he suddenly grabbed the little girl I was carrying.

My brain stopped working. Could my guess be right?

"Where are you, son? Mama's almost crazy looking for you." My wife kissed the little girl's face. While I'm still glued. Until I heard him call me.
