My Inline Husband

My Inline Husband
Chapter 25

4 Years later.

I rushed through the hospital corridor. I looked at the clock on my wrist. It made me speed up my steps. Even I ran small to get to where I parked my car.

Not without reason I'm in a hurry like this. All this because I was late to pick up my little angel at school.

I'll drive my car as soon as I get to the parking lot. I don't want my daughter to wait too long. I can imagine that cute face.

After a 30-minute drive, my car finally reached my daughter's school. I walked back in a hurry to enter the school gate.

My eyes were immediately drawn to the playground. There Shaki was playing with a man who I thought was so foreign.

I immediately approached my daughter who was playing with the stranger. I could not see the figure of the man's face, because the man's position was turned against me.

"Shaki, I'm sorry you're late, honey" I said, which made Shaki and the man turn to me.

"It's okay, Mom. Cakhi has a cekalang. There's Mr. Will's." Will." My daughter smiled at the man called Mr. Will by my daughter.

I frowned. I've never seen this guy in my life as long as I'm my daughter's here at school.

The man immediately stood up and bowed towards me. "Miss, I'm the new teacher here. I saw that Shaki was alone in class, so I invited him to play here."

The man bowed politely towards me. His words answered all the questions that were in my heart calm down who he was. I was relieved that the man was not a bad person.

I smiled back at him. "Thank you, Mr. Will's. Then I'll take My Daughter home" I said and was nodding back.

I don't know just how I feel or what. Mr. Will kept looking at me. But I'm not concerned because right now my eyes are only focused on my daughter.

"Come, Son. We have to go home soon" I said, staring at Shaki.

Shaki nodded and walked over to me. I held her tiny hand.

"Then we'll excuse you, Mr. Will," I said before leaving the place.

The man nodded while smiling.

"What did Shaki learn today?" ask my little daughter when I put a seatbelt on her.

"Mum check lots. There was a son of Balu loh Mam. But Chaki is not vinegar" said Shaki, who was funny. I always miss my daughter's expression. Very adorable in my opinion.

"Oh yeah? Why doesn't Shaki like it? It would be nice if Shaki had a lot of friends" I said in response, starting the car.

"She's naughty Mam, Chaki's not vinegar" Shaki said. Her lips are so cute. I was so worried about him.

"That's because maybe you guys haven't been friends, honey. Try to make him friends later, honey. We don't know well or not if we don't know him yet." I give understanding to my daughter.

"Okay Mam, Chaki's gonna take him to be friends."

I smiled gently rubbing Shaki's hair with my hand. While the other hand I use to hold the steering wheel.

Halfway through, my phone rings. I'll pick up with the loudspeaker immediately.

"Hello doctor. There are patients who need to be operated on immediately. The conditions were already very urgent," my assistant's voice sounded serious.

"Coming up for an operation procedure. I'll be there in a minute" I said. Then I turn off the call immediately.

"Darling, we go to the hospital first? You need to help a patient."

I saw Shaki go silent. Actually today I promised I'd take her to the playground. I had to disappoint my daughter again. But this is really urgent.

"OK Mom. Chaki is okay. Mama Chaki's a hero."

I smiled with relief looking at my daughter. Apparently my son grew up to be a smart kid. Lucky all this time he can always understand with my profession is very busy. Sometimes it's hard to make time for my own daughter.

Arriving at the hospital, I gave my daughter to my assistant.

For the last 2 years. I got an award from the hospital that I was named the best surgeon. And to achieve this process is not easy.

I am grateful to have reached this point. My priority is the lives of the patients.

Not a few of the few hospitals that wanted to pull me. But I decided to stay at the Royal Victoria Hospital. Because this is where I raised me.

I breathed a sigh of relief when today's operation went well again. Many doctors who gave me survived because the operation could be said to be a major operation. The procedure I directed at the other doctors was well received. Everything went well.

Not aware if it turns out it's late at night. I hurried to walk into my room. Shaki and Elsa must still be waiting there.

But when I was in a hurry, I didn't realize someone was in front of me so I crashed it.

It seems he's calling someone. His phone has fallen down too.

I am aware of my mistake. Immediately I bowed my body to apologize to him.

"Sorry, Sir. I was really unintentional. Please forgive me," I still bowed.

The man picked up his dropped phone without saying anything. Then he stepped away. But just a few steps, the voice of the man was so cold.

"Next time you have to be more careful, Miss." That man is gone.

I felt like a stranger to hearing the man's voice. I turned my body to look at the back of the man who started to move away.

I just put my shoulders back, then continued my steps towards my room. My daughter must have been waiting for me.

I felt sorry for my daughter when I entered my room. He's been fast asleep. He must be tired of waiting for me.

"Thank you for taking care of Shaki, Elsa."

"Don't hesitate, Miss. Shaki is a very smart kid," Elsa said.

I smiled, then walked towards my daughter and kissed her forehead. I slowly carried her tiny body to bring her home.

"Do you need help, Miss?"

"No, Elsa. I can do it myself" I refused when Elsa asked.

"Then be careful, Miss."

I nodded and immediately brought Shaki.

Arriving at the parking lot, I took my car keys. But accidentally I dropped my car keys. I took a breath and took the key.

I was shocked when someone took my car keys and gave them to me. I saw the figure of the man. My eyes fiddled to see who he was.

"You're so careless, Miss. What if your daughter wakes up?" He gave me the key.

I'm still silent. My brain stopped working. I never expected to see him again.

He shook his head looking at me, then immediately left. He doesn't seem to recognize me because I'm wearing a mask right now. Lucky Me.

I'll get in the car immediately. I look at Shaki's plain face for a moment. Unknowingly these tears just escaped.

How not? Wounds that have been stored for several years are now suddenly present again.
