A Truth

"How are your children Dan..?"

Daniel was surprised by his question. Where did you know about the twins, Daniel thought. His forehead was confused thinking about it.

"But you know all about you. Papi knows how fuck you're becoming a man. Papi and mami have never taught you anything like that." Daniel lowered his head at his papa speech which sounded relaxed but firm.

"You know why Rara went to college abroad? It was all the papi who gave it to him without Rara's knowledge. Because Papi wants to teach you a lesson. So you know how the pain of losing. Papi sent someone there to take care of him and also the grandchildren papi. Papi also sent someone to give our company a recommendation that he work there. Papi is happy because what Papi does has a positive effect on your life."

Daniel listened silently to his papa. He did not dare to speak. Her mama's soft hands stroked Daniel's shoulders to make him feel calm.

"Bapi remembers how sad it was to hear her crying beside the papi car. He didn't know that Papi was in the car. Because at that time papi planned to meet the principal for an important business. When Papi wanted to open the car door, Rara was already lying unconscious. Then Papi took her to the hospital. Papi was waiting for him there until he came to his senses. The doctor came with the results of an examination that said she was positive for pregnancy. Papi is very concerned about his situation. Because Papi knows she's a good girl, smart, even if she's an orphan. At that time Papi was convinced that she was pregnant not because of her wishes."

Mr. Arnold Mahendra looked down at his bowed son without saying a word.

"Do you want to know how papi can know it's your flesh and blood?"

Daniel looked up at his papi and nodded his head slowly.

Arnold sighed, drank his tea and placed it again on the table.

"Because the papi forced him to talk. He doesn't know who papi is. But Papi told her that papi would keep her secret. Maybe he's forgotten about papi's face now."

Mr. Arnold grabbed Daniel's hand while grasping it gently.

"Jaga Rara and also the grandchildren papi well. Don't ever hurt her again. Be a responsible man. Papi wants you to bring them right into Mahendra's family. Papi wants the twins to accompany the old mami and papi until the time God calls us."

Even Daniel who heard it could not hold back his tears. He hugged his papi while sobbing.

"I'm sorry Daniel Pi. Daniel promised to do all that papi pinta. Daniel would never let them go from Daniel again, because Daniel loved them very much. Daniel loves Rara very much. Daniel's really sorry Pi."

Daniel furrowed his brows not understanding what his papa was saying earlier.

"what do you mean, Papi? What guilt is Pi?" Ask Daniel.

"If the situation allows papi will tell you and Rara."

"We should rest now. Our show will begin later in the afternoon. Don't forget to take Rara to lunch."

"Yes mi".

Mami and Papi Daniel passed away to go to their room. Daniel also chose to go into his room. He wanted to see if Rara was awake or not. Yeah, because Rara was in Daniel's room.

Daniel goes into his room and finds Rara lying behind him. She laid herself beside Rara and hugged her from behind. Rara, who pretended to be still asleep when Daniel came in, was surprised by Daniel. But Rara didn't move a bit in her position. Body stiffens. His heart was racing like it wanted to explode.

Daniel grabs Rara's hair slowly, gently kissing Rara's open shoulder. She inhaled the scent of Rara's body which she had longed for so long. Stacking her chin in the recess of Rara's neck. Daniel's breath made Rara's body crumble. Makes Rara more stiff and stiff.

"Rileks Ra. I know you're awake." Daniel's whisper was soft

"I miss you so much." Again Daniel peeked at the back of Rara's neck.

"You know today I know a truth that Papi and Mami have hidden from me. But the truth is very painful for me. I regret all my past stupidities. Because of my stupidity, three people who meant so much to me, who I loved so much, lived alone away from me. The woman I love so much bears the burden of her own life, which I am supposed to protect. I'm a jerk. And I deserve to not accept forgiveness from him. At first I was just pretending to like it. But I just realized that I loved her when she disappeared. I'm sure he used to leave me, because he knew I was a jerk who was just playing with his feelings for a bet. He even left with the results of my mistakes. He took everything himself. In-he--"

Daniel's words stammered over the tears of regret he shed at this moment. Rara could feel her shoulders and neck wet from Daniel's tears.

Rara continued to be silent to hold her sobs so as not to break. His chest was tight to hear all of Daniel's regretful words. Rara knew what Daniel was talking about was her.

"I'm sorry Ra.please excuse me. I want to start over with you and our children. I will give my best to our family. I promise I will do anything to make amends for all my mistakes to you, Rio and Ria."

Rara's body shook. She was no longer able to hold back her tears. Without speaking but that cry represented how painful the wound was. Daniel tightened his embrace to calm Rara down. Pecking the top of Rara's head many times.

Daniel flips Rara's body to face her. He looked at the face of the woman he loved very intensely. He wiped a trail of tears there. Again Daniel kissed Rara softly on the forehead. Channeling all his love and affection. He raised Rara's chin slowly and lowered his face, gently kissing Rara's lips.

She clenched tightly onto Rara and buried Rara's face in the chest of her field. Rara remained silent. He didn't know what to say anymore because Daniel knew everything. Even if Daniel's parents knew how they were related, they knew about their grandchildren's whereabouts, but Rara wasn't really ready for any of this.

Tok tok tok tok

Mami Daniel opened the door quietly and just stood in front of the room. He sees Rara in Daniel's arms. A smile rose on his lips. Mahendra hopes that the two of them can solve all the problems between them and live happily ever after. Daniel raised his head slightly without letting go of his embrace on Rara.

"What's wrong?"

"It's lunch time. Take Rara all together. Papi's waiting at the dinner table."

"Good Mi. We'll be soon."

Daniel let go of his embrace and kissed Rara again.

"Darling, let's get up. Papi's been waiting for us to have lunch together."

Daniel helps Rara get up and sit her down. She tidied Rara's messy hair.

"Bring first." Rara obeyed Daniel's orders. He took his change of clothes from inside the suitcase and went inside the bathroom.

After bathing Rara dress up modestly but still look beautiful. Daniel was also well dressed. Just a knee-length black shorts and a blue t-shirt. Before leaving the room, Daniel hugged Rara's waist so that it was closer to her.

"Stay with me." He kissed Rara's soft lips. Letting go of her embrace and clasping Rara's fingers, moving on from there.

A smile from Arnold and Maria Mahendra greeted Daniel and Rara when they reached the dinner table. Daniel pulled out a chair and invited Rara to sit down, and Daniel sat down next to him.

"How are you doing Ra? Papi heard you fell unconscious." Papi Daniel opened the conversation between them while enjoying lunch.

"I'm fine, sir." Rara said slowly

"Call me Papi. To papi you are my son-in-law. Papi's sure Daniel must have told you everything. Although you have the right to cover everything from Daniel. But papi asked, think about the future of your children. They are completely innocent. They deserve complete happiness from you as their parents.

Papi and Mami won't force you to get married soon. But then again papi asks, eliminate the ego for their future."

"Yes Pi." Said Rara bowed. But the warm grip of Daniel's hand made Rara turn to him.

"We will do our best for our children Pi." Daniel said without taking his eyes off Rara.

"Mommy's happy that your relationship is improving. Finish everything well - fine. Mommy doesn't want grandchildren to get hurt."

"Bec.."

Rara turned to Daniel "iya Pi" he replied.

"Isn't the day after tomorrow the twins' birthday?" Ask Papi Daniel

"True Pi."

"Where are you celebrated? Wherever they want, tell Papi don't hesitate. Papi's gonna give it to me."

"They just want to celebrate at home."

"Well, if that's what they want. And you Daniel, give your best to Papi's grandson."

"Ready Papi." Daniel smiled happily.

Mami and her papa laughed at how happy their son was. As a parent, of course, the happiness of children is the most important.

While Rara, she doesn't talk too much. He doesn't know what to do. Everything Papi Daniel said was true. But back again, he was still not ready.
