The Struggle for Love(part 3)

Mira looked at a sprawled man in front of her coffee shop. The man fainted with wounds on several parts of his body. But even worse is in the head.

It seemed like this man had just been robbed and beaten to death. No identity left behind. Mira can understand it, because the area in this Chinatown is very much Mafia.

He screamed for help and took the man to a small hospital not far from his coffee shop.

When the man's shirt was opened, the nurse found 2 rings hanging from his necklace. Because the necklace had broken, the sister gave it to Mira.

He read the inscription on the ring Love forever Ben Aslon Then the ring is engraved the other love Forever Maura Belinda Aslon.

Mira knew this must be a wedding ring. Fortunately the ring was not found by the robber because it was stored in a necklace and covered by his jacket.

2 Days later, the man regained consciousness. Mira was happy to see it.

"Hallo, Ben....!" greet Mira.

Ben looked at the beautiful woman in front of him. "Who are you?"

"I'm Mira. You fainted and got hurt.It looks like you've been robbed and beaten."

"The robbery....? Being beaten? Who exactly am I?"

"You don't remember?"

Ben shakes. He's confused. He really doesn't know what happened to him. He doesn't remember anything anymore.

Doctors say that Ben has Retrograde amnesia. Amnesia that causes a person to lose his or her past memories due to an injury to the brain. Ben must undergo an examination at a larger hospital to see how much amnesia he is suffering and needs certain nutrients to be able to restore his past memories. But because Mira does not have enough money so he chose to take Ben home because the guy also just wanted to be with him.

Maura cries hearing Ben's story. Ben doesn't recognize him.

"Eat, after that you can talk to, Ben" said Mira then immediately went down to bring it.

Maura stared at the simple room on the second floor of this tavern. He did not step aside, Ben who was born as the son of a conglomerate family finally lived in this simple room. The kitchen, living room and bed are in the same room. Only the bathroom is different.

Maura won't ask how Mira and Ben are related. Knowing the woman is pregnant makes Maura quite understand how close they are and maybe the bed that Maura sleeps in now is the place of love Ben and Mira. And it was really painful for Maura.

With great difficulty, Maura tried to swallow her food. He needs to be strong to talk to Ben.

After eating, Maura washed the cutlery she wore and then went to the bathroom.

By the time he got out of the bathroom, Ben was already sitting on the sofa and seemed to have taken his life.

"Said Mira you wanted to talk. Speak up!" ben said with a cold look. Maura had never seen such a look in the eye even though she and Ben were booming.

"Ben, don't you remember me at all?"

"You said I was your husband. The ring says Maura Belinda Aslon but I checked your bag and found your passport, it says Maura Belinda Nasution"

Maura snorted in annoyance. He changed his name after he divorced from Ben and went to Indonesia.

"That's because we're actually divorced" Maura said slowly.

"we're divorced so why are you looking for me?"

"Ben, we love each other. I was wrong to accuse you of cheating. But I realized my mistake. That's why I'm looking for you. You left 3 months ago. You disappeared without any news. I can finally find you here" Maura said with a broken heart as Ben did not look at her at all.

Maura moved to sit next to Ben. He then grabbed Ben's hand and held it tightly.

"Ben, let's go to London and you'll see how we love each other."

Ben pulled his hand from Maura's grasp "I don't want to go back to my past because I'm happy with Mira" Ben said, then pulled his hand from Maura's.

"Benn...!" Maura suppressed the pain that was about to come out into a deep cry.

"Ben, let me be with you to prove that we love each other. Let's find the best doctor to take care of you"

Ben stood up "If we're both divorced, our relationship should end right now. You may have been present in my past, but I'm sure that you must have inflicted such deep wounds on me that I can't remember you at all" Ben stood up and left Maura alone.

Maura felt her heart break. This time Ben not only left him, Ben also forgot him.Maura cursed herself. If he had listened to Ben's explanation that night, it would have been impossible for the breakup to happen. Suppose he came at the photo exhibition according to the hours. Ben would never come to New York. However, his million regrets were now of no use. Ben can't have it anymore.

Maura was crying very hard. He doesn't know what to do. Until he finally remembered something and grabbed his cellphone.

"Faith. Ben might not remember me anymore. But she will definitely remember you" she said among her sobs.

"Ben, why did you let Maura go? You should have talked to him a lot."

Ben put the ring into the drawer of the table in front of him

"I don't want to find my past memories"

"Why?"

"Because I know there's no you in my past."

Mira smiled "But in your past, you had everyone who loved you."

"Maura and I are divorced. That's what he said"

"But he's sorry. He wants to come back to you."

Ben looked at Mira with a sad face "If I go, then what do you do?"

"I'll be here, Ben. Because this is where I belong."

Ben shakes. He stood up and approached Mira who was standing near the dining table. In her arms the woman tightly.

"I'm happy with you!" whispered as he tightened his embrace.

Ezekiel, Joe, Faith and Rachel stand in front of Ben who is sitting side by side while Ben's hands are coiled around Mira's shoulders.

Alicia Aslon was crying in her husband's arms because Ben didn't know her either.

"You don't remember us at all, Ben? We are your friends. Since childhood we grew up together" Rachel said. He almost cried to see Ben.

"Ben..., you forgot about me too?" ask Faith. He sat next to Ben.

"We're brothers, Ben. Your blood is flowing inside my body"

Ben remained silent. He was holding onto Mira's shoulder.

"Come with us, son. Let's get some medicine so you can be healed. We have the greatest medical team in London" Bryan Aslon said.

Ben shakes. "Sorry, I can't move Mira."

Maura, who was standing behind Faith, sat down to hear Ben. His heart is sick again.

"So we should how? Ben can't let us leave it alone here!" alicia said as they sat in the hotel lobby.

"Of course Ben should be on medication, auntie. Because if left unchecked, the amnesia will get worse.we have to check how many concussions he experienced before it further damaged the tissue in his brain and Ben will lose his past permanently" said Joe.

Alicia looks sad. "Ben won't go. He wants to be with Mira"

"Mira is pregnant" Maura said and made everyone there surprised.

"Mira's pregnant?" squeal Alicia. Should she be happy to have a grandchild? But Maura was the daughter-in-law she wanted.

Faith looked at Maura with the same feeling of hurt. He had even been in the same position as Maura.

When love has to be at stake with very painful circumstances.

Alicia looked at Maura with a sad heart. He knew the stubborn girl was now very hurt.

"I just hope Ben will recover. And after that, I will sincerely release Ben." said Maura calmly even as a million daggers were piercing her heart.

Ben and Mira suddenly enter from the lobby door, holding hands.

"Benn...!" Alicia immediately stood up with a pleased face.

"I'm willing to come with you as long as Mira comes with me as well" Ben said as he pulled Mira's body closer to him.
