CHAPTER 4 - The Vladimirs

Yesterday's events still unfold in Erika's mind. He didn't think Antonio was a werewolf.

A strong wind rushed in from the window that had suddenly opened. The three people appeared slightly thin and sunken-eyed, they had the same pale skin as Erika.

“Erika! Until when will you keep playing around here?” One of them asked with high intonation. She was a woman of about forty years old.

Erika was surprised to see their appearance in her room. Lenora Gainsbourg Vladimir, Frank Ritevski Vladimir, and another young woman who looks the same age as Erika. Lenora and Frank are her siblings, and the young woman, Erika, seems to know her.

At first glance they are like humans, when in fact they are both descendants of Vladimir's family, the vampire nobility. Only, they looked much paler than ordinary humans.

Lenora is approaching Erika. The sunken eyes with deep red irises were staring intently at the sister.

Frank cleared his throat and began to deliver a message from his father, “Your next year, daddy wants you to go home to the castle.”

“Until that day arrives—Nicolette will be with you. He will help to train your skills as the successor of the Vladimir family,” Frank continued.

“I will not return to the castle .. will never!” Erika resolutely refused the wishes of her family.

Frank's thin and pale fingers stroked her sister's hair, bringing Erika's ears closer to her blood-red lips.

Frank's hand pulled Erika's hair and whispered, “You know, if daddy doesn't accept rejection, right? Don't let daddy get angry. Your playtime is enough.”

There's an emphasis in Frank's tone. Some time ago Frank had warned Erika by phone before they came.

“Erika ... Erika! Are you having a guest?” An old man's voice sounded from outside his room.

“Ti—no, Professor. I was just watching a television show. Go back to your room!” erika shouted from inside without opening the door.

A sneaky smile was implied on Lenora's face. “If you don't obey daddy—”'s orders his eyes glanced towards the door.

“Don't try touching Professor Sylvester!” Erika pushes Lenora against the wall.

“Cih! Weak!” Lenora mocked Erika's weak power. He scratched Erika's face back to leave a scratch, but immediately recovered instantly.

The two of them disappeared in the dark of the night, leaving behind the woman who had come with them. Erika looked questioningly at the woman.

“Frank said earlier your name was Nicolette?” Erika tried to confirm the name of the woman.

“Master called me by that name, Miss.” The woman named Nicolette answered respectfully to Erika.

Erika stared fixedly at Nicolette's face, like she knew the woman in front of her. Still unsure of the memory of this woman.

Nicolette calls Frank a master, it means he is a slave vampire or vampire servant—which means that Nicolette used to be a human who was bitten by Frank.

“Is she Nicolette Pousin? Country girl who once got lost in the forest and became my friend?” Erika wondered in her heart.

As a vampire servant, Nicolette had to obey whatever the master ordered. Her human memory is lost, except when Frank dies, Nicolette may be able to get her memory back.

Next morning.

Bryan's sudden voice coming from behind the door made Erika flinch. Apparently, since he was daydreaming, he was still curious about the figure of Nicolette who was sent by her brother to accompany him.

“You've found Erika?” The head of the Vladimir family asked in a heavy voice.

“Already, daddy. She lives in England, with—”

“Dia in England, Dad. Rent a house in the suburbs of London.” Frank cuts off Lenora's speech before he says Erika lives with a human. Their father will be very angry.

Lenora's face looks unhappy because Frank is protecting the humans who live with Erika. Indeed, the father expects the youngest daughter to come home with them, the match between Erika and the child of the noble family Christoph must be carried out before Erika's birthday.

Their hope of being able to lead all the vampires in the world was on Erika's shoulders. Although it looks weak, the supernatural power it has is very terrible, because he can at will manipulate the opponent's mind, detect lies and read the future.
