Chapter 274: Monsters in the Tunnel

The train was abandoned fifteen years ago. Normally, it would remain hidden among the weeds, without any chance to see the sunlight again!

Surprisingly, there were visitors today. Instead of carriages, it was a group of students from a famous school, who were carrying out their training mission.

The path could still be used, as long as the demonic beasts did not treat the railroad tracks as their beds. The journey is quite smooth until the group reaches a tunnel, which is naturally completely dark, which looks very creepy.

“I just saw a map. This tunnel is about a kilometer long. Based on how often we stumbled onto demonic beasts along the way, this tunnel was most likely used as their nest. I suggest that we find another way around the mountain rather than making contact with animals when we do not know the species and their numbers, ” Song Xia's recommendation to the group behind her.

“Are you not very careful? Who cares what's inside, we have to kill whatever we see. The tunnel was only a kilometer long. Who knows how much time we'll waste going around the mountain!” Lu Zhenghe denied.

"Don't be afraid, let's use the tunnel," Zheng Bingxiao agreed, thinking it was just a waste of time. There was no guarantee that they would hit a powerful ferocious beast on the mountain, or not crash into it if they twisted.

"Alright, we'll use the tunnel," Song Xia nodded helplessly.

“I will let the Stone Golem take the lead. If something were to happen, it would hold the danger for a while. ” Zheng Bingxiao Summoned his Stone Golem as he spoke.

As Zheng Bingxiao finished his Summoning, Lu Zhenghe glanced at the awkward creature and said with a loud smile, “That's not even an Advanced level being. Stingy base.. Well, I guess such dense creatures are enough to pave the way for us.”

Zheng Bingxiao scratched his head without explaining himself.

The Stone Golem was three meters tall, its entire figure was covered with a sturdy stone. Although the movement was slow, it was like a combination of shield and bulldozer as it sped forward on the rails, clearing the thorns and grass along the way!

“Those who are behind should be strong enough as well, and it cannot be a summoned beast. We need someone who can directly make rational decisions in case something happens, Lu Zhenghe suggested.

"I'll guard our backside," Song Xia offered.

"You must leave that dangerous duty to us." Xu Dalong intervened politely.

Song Xia did not say anything. Xu Dalong's main element was Earth, so he was indeed a better candidate.

The ones lurking in front were Liao Mingxuan and Shen Mingxiao. Their main element is Wind, so they can respond quickly if needed. Behind them were Zhao Manting and Song Xia, both capable of using the Shining Light, lighting the path ahead!

It was clear that the cave had not seen sunlight for a very long time. Zhao Manting and Song Xia had to emit a Shining Light every ten meters just to illuminate the place and clear the air around them.

They did not know if the air was poisonous, but it would be foolish to try and inhale it, as the place was filled with the foul smell of rotten, the feces from ferocious beasts, and the lack of ventilation!

“Jiao jiao, stay close to me. I can protect you in case of emergency.” Mo Fan walked in front of Mu Nujiao, as if he was a reliable man who cared for a woman in need.

Mu Nujiao wore a tight-fitting long-sleeved shirt, which wrapped around his upper body tightly. The pleasant aroma of his body in such a sealed space was very attractive. Each breath feels pretty exciting.

Mu Nujiao rolled his eyes at Mo Fan and asked, "Aren't you supposed to protect your great wife?"

When he saw her reaction, Mu Nujiao found herself asking, "How did the two of you meet?"

"She was my neighbor," Mo Fan replied honestly.

His house was like a castle, with its own garden, driveway, and rows of mansions. Meanwhile, his house was a terrace under the mountain, but it could not change the fact that they were neighbors!

"So he's from Bo City as well. That explains his reaction earlier." Mu Nujiao recalled Mu Ningxue's attitude towards Luo Song earlier and nodded to herself.

"Oh, Intermediate Hunters, really impressive!" Mo Fan laughed.

"Mo Fan, don't you feel like something is watching us?" ask Mu Nujiao. He had no interest in the little competition between the boys.

“Mrs Mu, don't worry. Based on my experience over the years of hunting down ferocious beasts, there is nothing nearby at the moment, ” said Liao Mingxuan with narrowed eyes.

He finally had the chance to talk to Mu Nujiao, or so he thought !

Suddenly, the little hamster in Liao Mingxuan's chest pocket straightened his back and let out a terrified scream.

Liao Mingxuan's smile froze instantly. His eyes quickly scanned the surroundings.

"Zhao Manting, explain in that direction." Mo Fan said.

Zhao Manting looked in the direction Mo Fan pointed at. With a swift wave, he aligned the Star and let out a beam of light.

"Forward!"

Zhao Manting directed a light towards the area beside Mu Nujiao. Golden rays illuminated the walls of the tunnel, revealing black vines that covered above them.

The vines spread across the wall like giant spider webs. However, through those cracks, they could see several pairs of eyes staring at Mu Nujiao, who was closest to them, with hostility!

"Jiao jiao, stand behind me!" Mo Fan stepped forward.

Mu Nujiao was not a little girl. A light breeze quickly rose around him, forming a wind path that allowed him to move faster.

“Fire Explodes!” Mo Fan held his palm half-open as a rose-colored flame lit up there.

He threw the rose-colored Fire Burst onto the black vines on the wall. It quickly burned them to ashes.

The flame light illuminated the area beyond the reach of the Shining Light, revealing the shadows of several hunchback figures holding dried blood-stained bones in their hands!
