"Different?"
This time it was Selen who asked.
Jason nodded and resumed his explanation.
"They're not as crazy as transition zombies and real zombies for hunger. They'd rather eat the brain nuclei of their fellow deathsters" Jason paused his sentence again, as heavy as it was to continue.
"Depending on the level of the deathsters as well, the highest might be able to resemble a human"
Jason said, ending the sentence.
We were silent again, no one dreamed Jason's words, busy with their own thoughts. Suddenly there was an unbearable feeling coming from inside me, a feeling of turning my eyes to the side, towards the trees.
There was no one there, but somehow my heart was pounding just by looking at the trees. I put a sweater in my body. What if what makes me glance sideways is not a zombie, but a ghost? God, please, don't add to my suffering.
"Then, what makes them dangerous? And please, don't cut off any information, Jas"
After a moment of silence, Leah asked again, demanding Jason to answer as soon as possible.
"That's because..."
Jason turned his eyes, right in the direction I was staring at
"They're going crazy"
Jason's eyebrows wrinkled, looking confused.
I don't know what Jason was confused about, but his actions made us reflexively look into Jason's eyes.
I silently glanced towards Leah and Selena, confirming their expressions. But they just glanced at me without showing any expression, then refocused on Jason, like they didn't feel anything strange.
"Jas, please! Stop switching the conversation!"
Leah protested furiously while Jason was still focused on looking at the trees.
Jason didn't press Leah's charges. In his heart came an uncomfortable feeling that was hard to explain. He didn't smell any zombies approaching or peeking from there, but why did he still feel uneasy?.
"Jas!"
Leah screamed in frustration, pulling Jason's collar and forcing him to look right into Leah's eyes.
"Enough distraction. Now continue your explanation!"
Jason let out a heavy sigh, once again looking at the trees that made him uncomfortable, and after making sure his sense of smell did not feel the scent of zombies in the slightest, Jason eventually chooses to ignore and focus on Leah, Selena and Nelsie.
"It's like they have the highest carnivorous instinct"
Jason didn't shake Leah's hand, he still let Leah pull her collar.
"Hunt and watch his game suffer. When bored, they eat the brains of their victims alive. Which part of it doesn't reflect how dangerous deathsters are?"
Jason asked, staring at Leah.
"And they like to be the best. Usually the deathsters gather the transition zombies and the original zombies to become his subordinates. Sitting on the top pyramid as a human hunter"
Jason patted Leah on the shoulder many times for a while before continuing
"As a fellow zombie hunter too. As I said, deathsters like to eat brains directly. They actually prefer to eat the brains of fellow deathsters. But when they don't find another deathster, they'll happily eat the brains of humans and other zombies"
Jason let out a heavy sigh, finishing his long sentence. He gulped down the water that had been in his grasp, trying to remove the extreme dryness from his throat.
"So.. Is there any way to kill the deathsters?"
Selena looked into Jason's eyes. His face looks hopeful. In fact, he did hope Jason would immediately nod and dismiss the fear that controlled Selena's heart.
Without Jason needing to explain, we actually knew how horrible the deathsters were. I remember how Jason looked when he first learned of the deathsters. How he cursed, how his face looked panicked as the figure from behind the trees roared.
Jason sighed for a moment then nodded his head, making us look expectantly at Jason. As long as there was a way to kill the deathsters, then they still had a high life expectancy.
"They must be shot on four sides"
Jason pointed at the area that should be shot with his hands
"On the left and right ear, in the middle of the forehead and the grooves under the back head"
Jason's words made our hopeful face disappear already. Our shoulders drooped, realizing what we were facing was like the last boss of a game.
I grumbled in my heart. How could we possibly shoot right in the area Jason ordered? Even shooting in the foot I still miss a lot. Our bullets are limited and the only ones with the best shooting skills are Jason and Leah.
Damnit damnit! Didn't Jason say this is still an assumption that Christoff's research center should investigate further?. Didn't Jason say it took weeks to turn into a deatster?Didn't Jason say only certain people can turn into deathsters?. If Jason didn't expect to see the deathster here, wouldn't that mean we shouldn't have met the deathster this early? Then why? Where did the deathster come from?.
The question swirled in my head, making me feel dizzy. My navel felt more and more as the roar returned to my ears. God, I think I need to check my ear health right away. But I suddenly woke up and grimaced. We're dealing with a zombie outbreak right now. Can a zombie attack the city?. I imagined dr. Jhonson, one of the top ENT doctors in my town with his blood-stained doctor outfit. He then said while grinning
"You want to check?"
Then the next second he started attacking and eating me.
Oh my god, amit-amit. I immediately patted my head many times, dispelling the crazy delusion that just flashed through my head.
Suddenly Leah shouted softly, making us instantly look anxiously at her. Leah clapped her clenched right hand many times into her left palm, making the gesture find an idea.
"Don't we just have to work together to kill him? Jason, you can shoot the front and the right ear. While I can shoot the back and the left ear"
Leah said cheerfully. He looked at me and Selena
"While Nelsie and Leah can shoot him in the leg and the leg of another zombie if there is an attack. At least slow their movement"
Hearing Leah's explanation made me and Selena immediately smile and feel relieved. We just need to work together, kill the zombies while finding the nearest place. Even in the corner of my heart, I laughed at our overly positive thinking. Against the transition zombies alone we were already overwhelmed, let alone the deathsters?.
Jason looked at our carefree expressions with a flat look. He shook his head, as if to break the happiness we had just felt
"shots in the legs won't slow them down too long. Unlike the transition zombies and the original zombies that took a long time to get back on the move when their legs were shot, the deathsters only took a short time, not 3 minutes"
It became an atomic bomb in our ears.
