METANOIA, A Wonder Place

METANOIA, A Wonder Place
Episode 3

The time is still at 10 am, and we leave, the sooner the better, she said. I sat in the middle, between the twins and the mother in front beside the father, Lavi, in the transport truck, to make sure they didn't miss their destination.

Along the way I mostly just sleep, and wake up when we stop a few times, to fill up the gas, or for lunch.

Mom kept calling Lavi, every time we stopped. Whether it was to ask where they had been, or had eaten or not.

No one told me how far this house was, and from their stories, it seemed close to the City.

But believe me, it's so far, even farther, than I expected. Until the sun goes down, we still haven't reached our destination. But no one protested, even Arie who is usually chatty, just sitting quietly did not protest, he seemed to have guessed the distance.

This time we stopped again for dinner, at one of the shops in the middle of nowhere. Wherever I looked, there was nothing, everything was dark, there were only rows of street lights, which were increasingly blocked by trees. Arie got out of the car after being woken up.

His red hair that was originally neatly carried, now looks messy, and his blue shirt that began to slum in several folds. “We eat first” Arya said, while putting up her baseball cap, and opening

buttoning his shirt, showing an abstracted t-shirt behind it, Arie followed while trying to justify his hair bun.

Inside the store, presenting a very different atmosphere, with a cold atmosphere outside that feels foreign, here feels warm, and young women who serve us with friendly, friendly, “order what you want” exclaim father, while proffering a menu book.

I don't know what to order, or what food my stomach wants right now, it feels like my stomach is a little nauseous, thanks to this long journey that does not end. Looking at my confused self, and perhaps my nauseous face that was clearly visible, mother ordered me a bowl of warm corn soup.

Exactly ten minutes, after we ordered, our food came. The corn soup that I ordered for me, unlike what I imagined, this portion of soup was like for two people, not to mention the filling

inside, that is not only corn, but also dice cuts of chicken meat, and other vegetable blends.

I was still silent, looking at the soup in front of me and I looked, the spaghetti Arya and Arie ordered was no less, but they were not surprised, and tried to eat it, either, even with half-consciousness.

Father had not touched his food, after sipping his warm coffee he stood up, walking out to meet mother, who seemed to be trying to contact Lavi.

“Indeed, in a place like this there is a signal.” Arie said curtly, without turning his eyes away, from his cheese-stacked spaghetti.

“There, but a little” said Arya, after checking her smartphone placed on the table.

“Can't imagine we'll live without signal.” Arie said with annoyance.

“You must learn to be used to” the voice of mother is heard behind me, who is walking from the entrance, her face looks more relieved this time than before.

            “How's Lavi?”

If Lavi is almost there, it means that we too, the nausea in my stomach is slowly disappearing, imagining that this long journey is coming to an end, and thanks to the warming corn soup. This corn soup is very good, and if you can comment, it tastes better than mother-made, which she usually makes when I'm sick, it's also quite thick, it's also quite thick, eating only half of it, I was already so full.

It was hard for me to finish my soup, and I couldn't stop because of the glut, with my mother's and Arie's faces glaring at me, if not exhausting it.

Arie is a food lover, and always spends the food he takes, whether it's good or not, he still spends it, like a big sin for him if not to spend the food, he said, and it seems that she also does not like to see people who do not spend food, but strangely she still has a thin body, just like mother.

As soon as I got into the car and started going back, I could not fall asleep, this time I sat by the window, so that I stayed awake watching the shining stars, the light was clearer, than the stars in the city. Maybe because the level of light pollution here is less, so the stars that shine here, also look more clear and beautiful.

Not feeling I began to sleepy, with a quiet and dark road state, I had a short dream. Again I stood in the same forest, but this time, it was as dark as night, and began to see small lights like fireflies, flying between grasses and shrubs, without me realizing it, my surroundings were already filled with clusters of fireflies, which I had only ever seen on television or from the internet.

The car shocks while riding the bridge, waking me and the twins, in front of us began to look, flickering lights home. I guessed, there was the village we were going to live in, again we climbed a bridge higher than before, so that I prepared myself, for rough shocks so as not to get nauseous from it.

From the top of the bridge, I could see more and more clearly, the village square that looked smoldering. So beautiful

I said in my heart while admiring it, father took us around the village for a while, before we finally headed to a new home.

In the square we passed, there was a large pole right in the middle, on the pole was attached

many street signage, each of which shows a different direction, so much that it makes me confused to see which one, maybe it will take enough time to find the name of the road on the board.

Either the signage will help, or it will only make people more lost.

Dad took us away from the square, until the beautiful church was replaced, leaving the light of the tree-covered street lights. There was a signboard, inscribed with Crimson Street, just like our surname, it was seen pointing to a small street, with

the dense trees by his side, trying to take over and his dense foliage, covered the moonlight that was trying to rush in, without the slightest illumination, only car spotlights lit our way.

Every now and then our car was shaken, because of the rocky road or, because my father had run over a fallen tree branch, the road was long in the dark of the night, I finally saw a speck of light at the end.

Lavi stood in front of the truck that was transporting our goods, it was seen that our goods had been taken down, and

some large furniture has been included. I stepped out of the car, saw a house so big in front of me, as well as creepy, maybe if given a little more lighting, this house will be beautiful.

“You should see this house when noon” said Arya, as soon as she saw my amazed face, “and in the morning, you have to see the sunlight through the glass ornamental” said Arie who is still trying to wake up.

Mother gestured, so that we could pick up the boxes we could carry, and bring our luggage inside, while father spoke briefly with one of the officers, and then pay them.
