Chapter 5: The Beauty of Dominic Island
Meryn walked without direction after punching Orlando Dominic in the stomach until it made him shake his head in astonishment. Now he walks down a pine-covered road along the side of the road. The right side is a wilderness that contains a variety of large and tall plants. While the left side is a stretch of white sandy beach and bright blue sea.
One week he was confined in the castle (more precisely locked himself). He did not know that outside the castle there is a very beautiful natural scenery. If this island is an artificial island made by the Dominic family, it means that the wilderness that looks shady and dense it is also designed and planted with plants by human hands.
He walked straight and looked left and right. Look for the freshness of the blue sea on the left and combine it with a dense green forest like in a fairy tale. Throughout his life in Italy, he had never seen a place as beautiful as this. A very quiet and peaceful place. It seems....
“Agh!”
As he was still cool walking down the paved road flanked by tall towering pine plants, his head was dropped by a dry brown pine flower. Holding her head, Meryn picked up a dried pine flower that rolled over the road. Dried pine flowers. He never remembered himself holding a dry pine flower like this. But it felt like the flower was familiar in his memory.
Meryn's life has never been out of her family's control. His father, John Patrizia, was so protective that he did not allow Meryn to go to the place without being watched by two bodyguards. He has never been in the wild like this. And always live in the luxurious house of the Patrizia family. When he left the house he was always watched.
He felt it was natural to remember that he was the only child in his family. Even though he did not like such a restrained life, he still tried to accept it because he knew his father was just too dear to him. And, about this familiar dried pine flower.
While continuing his path, Meryn grasped the dried pine flower. Then not far from where he stood, he saw a big tiger walking from the direction of the jungle.
“Ha!”
Meryn was shocked to death to see the wild animal coming from the direction of the forest. Isn't this an artificial island? Why are there wild animals like tigers? As his brain was still busy asking, the tiger walked closer and closer. Slowly, Meryn backed off. The tiger's roar sounded like a threat. Meryn's getting scared. Before he was pounced alive by the tiger, he turned around and ran.
Precisely because he ran, the wild tiger chased him. His voice grew louder. Meryn could only run as fast as she could and ended up tripping over the dried pine flowers that were falling down the road.
“Aagh!”
DOOR!
Meryn's body immediately curled up on the asphalt road hearing gunshots coming from her front. And up ahead, Orlando brandished his gun, shooting dead the tiger chasing Meryn.
Orlando came closer and instantly lowered his body right in front of Meryn. He saw blood pouring out of both Meryn's legs and her hands.
“You're bleeding,” Orlando said in panic. He put his gun back in his pocket. Then carrying Meryn's body with both hands.
“You did not say here there is a tiger,” ambushed Meryn while holding the pain on both legs and hands.
“When can I tell you? Every time you come closer you must slap, spit at me, even punch.” Orlando said firmly while carrying Meryn's body away from the jungle inhabited by various wild animals and primates.
Meryn speechless. Suddenly he felt guilty for Orlando. This is so weird. That man killed his family. But why did he feel guilty after being rude to her?
“You deserve to be treated like that,” rebutted Meryn.
“That's because you don't know what really happened, Miss Meryn.”
He silently looked at the stern face of the man who was carrying him. His strong jawline, which was overgrown with short black hair was curled up neatly. Her sexy pink lips. His nose is sharp. Also her eyes are a deep brown. Meryn looked at that handsome face while thinking about the many question marks.
Orlando has entered through the gate. The man continued walking with Meryn who was in the sling. Walk into the big castle.
“I should have married Henry. And you ruined my marriage, ruined my life. Even locked me away in this remote place. That's what actually happened.” Meryn's still stubborn.
“You know nothing about your family, Meryn. And you don't know what really happened.” Orlando confirmed once again.
“How can I possibly believe the words of a mafia like you? You cold-blooded killer.” Meryn.
“You are not much different from me, Meryn.”
Meryn speechless. Both of his eyes are squealing.
“What do you mean?”
Without answering anything, Orlando dropped Meryn's body onto the bed.
“Agh...” strangled Meryn as her body was violently dropped onto the soft bed.
While chopping down clothes, Orlando explained, “Do not go outside from the castle area alone. In the forest there are many wild animals that can prey on you at any time. If you want to go out the streets just say to the guards who stand guard in front of the gate. They will accompany you.”
“I'm sick of being escorted,” cetus Meryn.
The sneer made Orlando smile. He sat his ass on Meryn's bed.
“You want me to accompany?” ask Orlando.
Meryn's gaze ascended. They stared long enough. Although Meryn did not look at him as sharply as earlier, her gaze on Orlando was still quite cynical.
“I want you to return me to home.” Meryn said firmly.
“Home? Which house?” Orlando replied with a sneer.
Meryn's forehead frowned confused. He suspected Orlando who seemed to know something about him.
“You know something about me, right? Say it! Where else is my home other than John Patrizia's. All my life I have only lived in that house,” Meryn replied.
With a smile that had yet to fade, Orlando stroked Meryn's face. His thumb stroked Meryn's red lips, and was eager to kiss her. But he knows it's not quite the time.
“I'm Orlando Dominic, the only son of San Dominic, the most sadistic mobster on the Italian mainland. How could I possibly take a foreign woman to the most secret place of Dominic's family? I'm not that stupid, honey. I know who you are. I can remember everything that even you yourself can't remember.” Dominic's hand gripped Meryn's jaw, lifting her chin. The man drew his face closer to Meryn's cheek and whispered, “I know whose blood is flowing in your body. And I've been watching you since you were a kid. You can't escape me, my dear, Meryn ... De ... Luca. We're destined to be together.”
“Who are you, Orlando Dominic?” desus Meryn while Orlando's hand grip turned into a caress on his face.
The man smiled sweetly. “You should ask ‘who I’, Darling.”
Meryn just shut up. He did not dare to ask who he was to a mobster who had been after him for a long time. And somehow he starts to fear the truth of who he is to the point of being kidnapped by a ruthless mobster and taken to a secret island like this.
Orlando's hand held off as the man stood up. He tidied his clothes. Then say, “Your wounds will be treated by the waiter.” He left Meryn alone on his bed.
