The next Sunday Zara was so nervous for the priest's arrival. He used his father's recipes for soups and salads. He also burned some biscuits. He was uncertain about dessert so he chose something easy; chocolate chip cookies. Kitchen Smelling of Heaven by the time the five came. He got the dining table all set when the doorbell rang.
"Come!"He called and rushed to the door. It was a bit surprising to see the priest come out of his uniform, but to him he still looked very handsome. He wears a nice neutral grey suit with a pale blue button shirt. He was also surprised to see a small cluster of flowers in his hand. "assalamualaikum."He smiled quickly letting her in.
"waalaikumsalam Ms. zara."He smiled and gave her a hold on the shoulder. "This is for you."He added giving flowers.
"Why thank you so much."He blushes. She could not remember the last time she got flowers. "You can also call me zara."He's laughing a little.
"In that case, you can call me ahmad. As you can see I'm out of uniform."He smirks. He saw some curls in his short gray hair. He smells good cologne. He's still wearing his ring.
"When you sit down, is there anything you want?"He asked as he went to snatch the pot for the flowers.
"No, thank you. Please bring some water."Said. "It smells wonderful."He praised.
"thank you. It's my dad's recipe and yes he's Singaporean. My mother is Malaysian."He answers.
"Ahhh, accordingly."Said.
"Yes they. They've been married for over thirty years."Said.
"I'm glad to hear it."Said.
"Thank you."He's nodding. He filled the pot with water and put the flowers inside. He gently sniffed the flowers. "The flowers smell good. Thank you very much."Said.
"Either. I chose them from the Masjid garden. Best flowers in town."He laughed with pride. She wanted to hug him badly, but he just laughed. He gave her a glass of ice water before she got food on the table. "I hope you're ready to bring home an excess of food."He said while sitting.
"It wouldn't be Sunday dinner without making food for the army."Zara let him get his food first before he got his own plate.
"My grandmother is also Malaysian. He lived up to 70 years."zara explained.
"God bless his soul.”
"He's shorter than me. She always cooks when we come to visit."zara said between bites.
"Let me guess, will she ask if you're hungry too?"He's laughing a little.
"Oh yeah, all the time."Zara nodded.
"That sounds wonderful."They have a lovely dinner.zara does his best to keep his gaze from lingering too long in ahmad. His brown eyes felt so soft and safe. He really enjoyed his dinner. He helped clean up after dinner and when finished they shared cookies.
"I hope they're ok. I'm not sure what to cook."He said after they sat down.
"Biskut is delicious, but I prefer a bowl of vanilla ice cream."He grins.
"Yes, that sounds good to be honest."He nodded in agreement.
"So, can I get a visit to your lovely home?"He asked wanting to know.
"Oh yeah, come on!"Said awake. She shows him and smiles at his magic decoration that he is so proud to have all year.Amad keeps his mind to himself when he shows him his bedroom upstairs. The house is beautiful all around. She made him coffee and they talked a little bit in the living room. He wanted inches closer to her on the sofa, but maintained his distance. Once he was eight years old, he refused to wake up.
"I'm sad to say that I have to leave. I need to get up early tomorrow."Said.
"Yes, I understand."He nodded in understanding. "It wasn't four that morning?”
"I'm usually on five-thirty or more.”
"Yuckin. I am not Patient. I'll wake up just not talking to me too much.”
"I know a lot of people. I'll make sure to keep that in mind."He's laughing a little. They headed to the door and he handed the leftovers to her.
"Thank you for coming.”
"Thank you Zara for inviting me. It was a beautiful night."She smiles. He shook hands gently. "I love dinner again. I'll make sure to send my letter out."He's toying.
"I'll watch out for that.”
