When the imam made a round around the mosque, he saw a young woman in a corner fidgeting nervously. He looked tired but also confused. He kept staring at his lap and he was sure he was picking his fingers. Concern sign. He continued walking, nodding and smiling at the others sitting down. Finally he went to the girl.
"Are you okay, young man?"He asked in a friendly manner.
"Oh .. sorry .. didn't mean to bother you."Said awake.
"No, no, it's okay. You're always welcome here."She smiles.
"Please do not feel contemptuous but I have never been to a mosque in years .. Lately I have only been going to the Eid prayer mubarak with my parents. I'm not sure what to do."He admits.
"Don't be afraid. A mosque is a place to clear your mind and be peaceful."Said. "I am imam ahmad. "He said, extending his hand.
"zara ariffin."He said and shook it. He feels warm and strong.
"May I sit with you zara."She asked.
"Oh yeah sure."He gave her space.
"You seem troubled young man. Is something bothering you?”
"Just go through some things I feel."He shrugged his shoulders. "Just feel like I'm going through some things ... like I'm just here so what?"He explains.
"I like to believe that everyone is here for a reason. However, I am well aware that not many people are happy to hear."He said honestly.
"I'm sorry, I'm one of them."He admits.
"Don't apologize. In this situation, it's always best to be honest."He encourages.
"My therapist recommended I go to the mosque .. because it was something different to try. I'm not even Islamic. He flushed a little. The priest could not help but laugh.
"As I said you're still very welcome here" he smiled. He lowered his head instantly, plucking his fingers again.
"I think I help everyone but nobody helps me."He whispered. "I don't know what to do now."The priest looked at it sadly. The world can be a cruel place for young people today.
"I hope I can give you the right answer."He said sincerely.
"Is .... praying helpful?”
"If you believe it will help you then yes.”
"But what if I don't know how to pray?”
"There is no right or wrong way to pray. Close your eyes and say what you want in your mind."He explains. "Here ... I will pray with you."He slowly took his hand. He closed his eyes and flushed his hands. He waited patiently with her. After a few minutes he opened his eyes and they were slightly watery. He smiled and wiped his eyes.
"Thank you priest."He said to wipe his eyes.
"You're very welcome. I suggest you make solah. It is a way to empower yourself and your prayers. "She added. He nodded and led to the mosque. He was careful and prayed for a while.
"Thank you priest."He said and smiled at her.
"Together."He groaned a little surprised. "if you have to talk, I'm usually here for up to six days."He added.
"OK ... thank you .. I think I'll see you later."He nodded before he left. The priest will be happy to hear if he returns.
