Love is Second

Love is Second
4. Go Together.

"Thank you for the ride, Norra," Allen said, as soon as they reached the end of the alley of the girl's house. Norra could see Allen's black sedan parked not far away.

"Together, Allen. I hope you guys don't come to this little place anymore" Norra said.

"We will definitely be back" Allen replied.

Norra nodded. The girl turned her attention to Willy. "Good fun with that cake, Will," she said, gently stroking Willy's hair.

Willy nodded happily. "Next time I want to ride the bike with Miss again, may I?" ask the 8-year-old.

"Will." Hearing Willy's words, Allen rebuked him.

Willy lowered his head while pursing his lips.

Seeing that, Norra chuckled. "It's with pleasure, Willy. Next time we will take a walk together. Okay?"

Willy raised his head and hugged Norra tightly.

"It doesn't have to be that way, Norra." Allen who felt bad then also reprimanded his son's homeroom teacher.

"It's okay, Allen. I'm glad Willy's back," replied Norra.

Allen looked at Willy who had now entered his car, with a sad look. "I'm the one who made it that way. I should've paid more attention to Willy. I hope he doesn't bother you" Allen said.

Norra shook her head. "Not at all. In addition to being smart, Willy is also an independent and strong child," praised the girl.

Allen smiles. She thanked Norra before getting into the car.

Norra waved her hand as soon as the car moved away. Once again, she was grateful to see Willy mingling back with his friends at school.

...**********...

"No, Son. Miss can't!" norra exclaimed at Willy who was still not giving up pulling his hand.

How not, this is the third time Willy forced her to come home together. Willy reasoned, that he just wanted to keep the promise of inviting Norra to buy the boy's favorite snack.

Norra of course refused, because of course he felt bad for Allen who until now has not appeared as well.

"Come, Miss! If Miss doesn't want to, I'll be sulking for days!"

Hearing Willy's threat, Norra grimaced. "It's not so, Will. It's just, I'm not good with your father. He must be tired if he doesn't go straight home." Norra tried as much as possible to make sense of the eight-year-old.

Willy shook his head. Soon, Allen's car arrives at school. Willy quickly approached the father and expressed his intention to invite Norra to hunt for snacks in the mall.

Norra thought Allen would reject Willy's invitation. However, the man instead happily agreed to the son's intentions.

"no need. It'll be very troublesome for you later, Allen." Again Norra refused subtly.

"Not at all Norra. Think of it as our thanks for the cake yesterday. How's it?" Allen looked at Norra expectantly.

Norra exhaled slowly. He finally relented and agreed to their request.

Willy cheered happily.

"Emm, but what about my bike?" ask Norra later. He can't leave it at school and go back to this place to get his bike.

"We went on a motorcycle. Papa can call Uncle Bob to pick up the car!" Willy enthusiastically offered a solution. The important thing is that they can go all three.

After doing so, the next thing that makes Allen and Norra confused is, who will drive the motorbike, while Allen is not good at doing it on the highway. The man doesn't even have a motor SIM.

As a result, timidly, Allen had to willingly sit behind Norra. The girl had laughed at the feet of Allen who had difficulty placing himself, because of his towering height.

"It seems like I really have to learn to ride a motorcycle" Allen said, as their bike moved out of the school environment.

"It must be." Norra laughs witfully.

During the trip, Allen really felt embarrassed because many people were paying attention to them. Some of them even blatantly laughed at Allen.

How not, Allen's handsome and dashing appearance in his suit, must be willing to dance with a small-bodied girl using his pink matic motor. Not to mention Allen's tall body that makes the motor look very small.

When the father was in a crisis of confidence, Willy who sat in front even cheerfully chatted about this and that.

Despite having to endure the embarrassment, Allen could not deny the happiness at the sight of the son's laughter.

It only took about thirty minutes for them to arrive at the parking lot of the mall. The three went straight into the mall to one of the famous ice cream places that since yesterday-yesterday wanted Willy to come.

Not many visitors came there, making Willy free to choose his own seat, while Allen and Norra booked together.

"What do you want to order?" ask Allen.

"What does Willy like?" Norra asked back.

Allen answered by pointing to one of the ice cream menus with raspberry toppings.

"All right, I'm that's it. Thank you," said Norra.

Allen nodded. After receiving and paying for the order, the two immediately walked towards Willy who was already impatiently waiting.

While Willy was busy eating his ice cream, Norra and Allen talked for a moment. There's a lot they talk about, like Willy's day at school.

"Before I entered, Willy was indeed much moody and sad. He even spent a lot of time alone in class, when the break came," Norra said.

Cloudy adorned Allen's face. "We are indeed in a very difficult time. I was gonna give up thinking I couldn't take care of Willy again after my wife died." His eyes looked at Willy full of worry.

"I thought, Willy doesn't understand what I'm feeling. But apparently, he was the one who felt the most bad," continued the man.

Norra smiled knot. "You and Willy are strong people. I'm sure you'll be able to get through this together, even if it's really hard."

"That's it, until now the shadow of when we were in an accident kept haunting me. Because, because it was me, Winstley died!" said Allen.

Hearing this, Norra was surprised. He apologized to Allen for discussing his wife's death.

"It's okay. Actually, it's been a few days since Willy wanted to come here. However, I always refused, because this place is my wife's favorite place. The two of them used to spend all day here until they forgot to go home." A small laugh sounded from Allen's mouth.

Norra smiled. "Willy must have been very close to her mother" the girl stared at Willy.

"Yes, compared to me, he is closer to his mother" Allen replied. His eyes once again looked at Norra with an illegible look.

Seeing Norra at this close distance made Allen a thousand percent sure, that the face of the girl and her late wife was so similar.

Allen seemed to be returning to his college days.
