67. A Different Taste

Cindy stared at the door of the apartment that had just been closed by the owner. He felt that his efforts to find out about Juan's whereabouts were just in vain. Instead of welcoming him kindly, Juan was cynical of him. It was as if Juan didn't want to see him anymore.

Saddened? For sure. Disappointed? Sure oes. Confused? Moreover. Cindy still didn't understand why Juan was acting that way. When they last met, everything was fine. Juan was still being friendly as usual.

Cindy again rang Juan's words saying that it was over. So, have they been close just to Keyla's business? Can't they be friends after Keyla's business is over?

Suddenly Cindy's tears just escaped without her being able to hold. Her heart was too sick to be treated like this by Juan. He himself did not know why it could be so. Is it possible that he's starting to feel like Juan?

"You just got home? Where have you been? I called you but you didn't pick up. That's why I came straight to your house," asked Adit worriedly.

"Oh.i-iya, sorry. I'm.that's.then to Keyla's place for a second. You been waiting a long time?"

"Barusan. I thought you forgot today we had an appointment out."

"Yes. I called you this morning. Don't tell me you forgot I came home today" Adit guessed.

"Hmm.no. I didn't forget. But I'm a little tired today. I sent Keyla to the hospital. He's in the hospital. That's why I'm a little tired and forgot my promise tonight" Cindy said.

"Keyla's sick what? So, you're not going out with me tonight, are you?" ask Adit to the point.

"Keyla's smitten, just passed out" Cindy lied. "Hmm.sorry yes, I think today I'm really tired. If the exit is postponed tomorrow can it be?" Cindy asked hesitantly. He was worried that Adit would be disappointed in him.

Adit approached and scrambled Cindy's hair. "It's okay, honey. I can understand. Keyla is your best friend. You must be tired all day to take care of him. We can still go tomorrow. I'm still here."

Seeing Adit's excellent treatment of her, Cindy feels guilty instead. He felt guilty for lying to Adit. Though he did not want to go out with Adit because his mood is not good today after meeting with Juan.

"Yes, I'll go home first. You rest a lot. We'll see you tomorrow. I love you, dear," said Adit softly.

"Darling?" repeat Adit when Cindy just shut up.

"Oh, yes, thank you, dear. I love you too" Cindy replied with a heavy heart. I don't know, he felt that something was different when he said that sentence at this moment.
