Chapter 4: Sitting in the office

Previous story: Berta, my office friend, gave me cheese bread that he deliberately bought for me.

I sat in the office garden at break time. I was sitting casually with Berta my friend in the office garden.

Maya POV 🌙

I'm Maya, I'm still sitting in the office with Berta, my good friend, and I love to buy me cheese bread.

"Eat the cheese bread before it expires. Cheese bread is good." Berta told me.

I checked the Cheese Bread for its expiration date. It's still a long time, but I'm not good for him.

Berta did not return to his room table. Berta remained in Mr. Doni's office. He accompanied Aldi who was staying by Mr. Doni out.

One hour is over. I still saw Berta sitting while accompanying Aldi. Apk Doni was out of there. I then try to walk to Mr. Doni's office to meet Berta.

"Excuse me..!" I said to Berta who Aldi saw. He turned his head towards me for a moment then focused again on the data lying on the table.

I held my breath that felt tight in my chest. Not to snatch Aldi out of Berta's hand but I felt jealous in front of Berta my own friend. Why am I not the one who fared like Berta. Why would Aldi want to be accompanied by a girl like Berta?

I'm still trying to be patient. You don't want to be rash and carried away by a moment of emotion that can make everything chaotic.

"What's Maya? You looking for something?"

"Yes, I need scissors." I said reasoned.

I know that I am not so meaningful in front of Aldi and Berta who are working together in the room of Mr. Aldi. I immediately went out and returned to the chair where I worked.

I exhaled a lethargic breath. You're not going to work anymore. But after a few minutes Berta came to see me. He told me,

Berta was like mocking Aldi who was the son of a Boss in the office.

"Aldo is like a child who was bait here by Mr. Doni. Aldo is a beehive for me and you. Only he can keep Aldi well what not." explained Berta to me.

"Together, we better take care of our work first. Aldi made us take care of it later." I continued to Berta.

Berta then turned to his chair. Berta's attitude just now I think is too evil, too naive for an underage Aldi. It is not appropriate for Berta to behave like that to Aldi.

I know, Aldi is not a random person. He is the only son of Mr. Doni who studied at UI Central Jakarta. I think Aldi needs a little encouragement from me or Berta that's it.

"Let me follow Mr Aldi?!" I said to Mr. Doni. Still I hope to be trusted by Mr. Doni. Though Berta was the one who asked Mr. Doni to follow Aldi to his house.

"You followed Aldi home, bring his laptop here!"

"Well Sir!"

Lucky for me because I was invited by Berta to be able to come to the magnificent Mr. Doni's house. With the need to take the laptop belonging to Aldi his favorite son.

"Yes, it's okay. I'm still fine. Fortunately, I could still hold it. I almost broke the furniture!" berta said to me.

And accidentally my eyes focus out of balance. The car hit the truck in front of me. I nodded and immediately fell on the asphalt.

I screamed, "Take it!" Me and Berta had an accident in the middle of that highway. I saw Berta still moving with some wounds on his body. There was blood coming out of his mouth. And I'm clammy.

I don't know what happened after that. After I realized, I was in the hospital. But I'm not interested in Berta. I saw Mr. Doni and Aldi there.

"Maya, you've already kissed son..?" Mr. Doni talk to me.

"Sir Doni, Where's Berta..?"

"Then it's in the ER. He was being treated in that room. Berta suffered an injury to his head. As many of you will see Berta there. You will be accompanied by Aldi here." explained Mr. Doni to me.

I still feel pain all over my body. I can't bear to remember Berta being treated in the ER.

"Sir Doni, please hurry Mr. Doni see Berta! I don't want to lose him, Mr. Doni!" I said to Mr. Doni.

"Sir Doni must save Berta from danger!"

"Yes Maya, I'll be there, Aldi please take care of Maya here!" Mr. Doni told Aldi to look after me in that public hospital room.

You still remember that before the accident, Berta had said that Aldi was the first cause of Berta's fear at that time on the motorcycle that I was driving at that time.

It's also my fault that I wasn't focused on driving. Aldi spoke to me without looking at me.

"Why did it get into an accident..?"

I was silent not answering. I'm still upset about that guy. Because of that story, I was not focused on driving. I'm most traumatized as rape. And it almost happened to my friend.
