Chapter 18: Working in a nightclub

Maya POV 🌙

Kinan worked at the club that night. He's in the night. I happened to take Mr. Also to take me to the club. I went to the club with Mr. Aldi.

Me and Mr. Doni walked into the club casually. I felt bad at first but I accepted. Mr. Aldi's friend came to see him. We stand facing each other.

Mr. Aldi talks about work in the office. Mr. Yanto, his friend thought that I was his second wife, Mr. Aldi. I smiled to myself. Mr. Doni told me to be honest with Mr. Yanto.

Mr. Doni said that I was his employee at the office. The drink came from the waiter, no mistake, the waiter was Kinan. Kinan gave the drink to the three of us.

Kinan left immediately after delivering the drink. Excuse me to Mr. Doni and Mr. Yanto. I chased Kinan from behind.

"Kinan! Wait!"

Kinan turned around to look at me. "I can't be bothered anymore!" Kinan turned to look at me and then returned to work. I can't leave without seeing Kinan first. Kinan is my hope other than Aldi. If Mr. Doni I only benefit him even though I am held alive by him.

Very upset should be with Mr. Doni. I have to be with two parents I don't like. I went back to Mr. Doni and accompanied Mr. Yanto for a while, Mr. Yanto the club owner.

After the event I went home with Mr. Doni and went back to the room. I didn't see Aldi in that house.

The night still felt by me. Kinan still works the most, I said in my heart. I still think of that kid. Luckily, Kinan was still able to work.

I saw Aldi come in, he went in the house and went back to the room. The music was again heard by me. Aldi came out and greeted me.

"I'm sorry I came out when you went with Dad. If you know where to go..?"

"I went to the club. I'm sorry I didn't tell you. You didn't ask your father?"

"No, I just came" Aldi told me. I exhaled a lethargic breath. "Aldi can you sit here for a minute..?"

"Sorry, I have to go to the room. You are not muhrim. Oh yes, later if you can work and have money, you can leave this house. Can't you...?"

"You don't like you living here..?"

"Like it, but I don't want you here long. Tired of it." he said to me. I know I'm a shameless person who likes to live in people's homes. But even so Mr. Doni still lets me stay here.

Even though Aldi doesn't like me being here I still have to stay because Mr. Doni allows me to stay here.

I then opened the sweep in the house pretending to be diligent. I saw Aldi go take a shower, but I've been to him. Mr. Doni then came up to me and told me I could go into the office tomorrow.

I finally got a job. Although a little heavy-hearted but I still feel happy because I can still live here. To be sure, I'm still confused as to whether to stay here or move somewhere else.

I'll tell Mr. Doni that Aldi doesn't like me in this house. I then slept in my room. I want to disappear first.

Morning's approaching. I pray at dawn and immediately cook in the kitchen. Aldi came to me. "You don't have to cook now, let me cook."

"I know you don't like me but please let me cook."

"I can cook by myself" Aldi told me.

"If you cook, am I forbidden to eat?"

"Of course, this is not your home. Mending you go back to your hometown. Back there live with your parents!"

"Yes, I know. But Mr. Doni still wants me to stay here. But, maybe later I'll leave here if I have the money to stay at the boarding house."

"good. I can be more free later."

"There again?"

"I'm sorry Maya."

I saw Aldi fierce. I knew he was the first one who didn't like me. He's my first reason to move to the boarding house later. Mr. Doni is just a savior for me not an enemy like Aldi.

Stupidly I have to live with him. I went to my room and wanted to get out of the house quickly. I want to leave this house immediately, I don't want to see Aldi in this house.

But I should have gone. I've been holding it again. I then complained to Mr. Doni about Aldi not liking me. Mr. Aldi said do not follow Aldi first, Aldi was so he said. But in my heart Aldi is still Aldi, he will always help me as long as I am in this house.

Mr. Doni then bought me new clothes to wear later when I worked in Aliyas' office. I put the uniform on my bed as a reminder.

Tomorrow I have to be ready to work again as before. I want to go to Berta's grave but I can't. I don't have a vehicle there. I stayed in that house. Someone knocked on the door from the outside. I waited until Aldi came to open the door but Aldi didn't come out either.

I had to open the door and the guest was Ms. Sulastri. "Where is Aldi..?"

"She's still sleeping Mom in her room."

"Tell him there's Sulastri's mother."

"good. I don't want to go in first..?"

"No need, I just wait outside" he told me. I know that Sulastri's mother doesn't feel good about Mr. Doni. After returning to the house Mr. Doni asked me.

"Who's up..?" I was flabbergasted for a moment. I'm afraid Mr. Doni is angry with Ms. Sulastri.

"There's Mr. Sulastri" I replied foolishly.

"Send him in."

"Sulastri's mother didn't want to go in, sir, I told her to come in. Tell him I told him to come in." Mr. Doni forced. I had to see Sulastri's mother again up front.

"Where's Aldi..?"

"Sorry Mom, Mr. Doni told me to come in. He forced Mom to come in."

"Sorry, tell Doni I can't get in. I can't stay here long. Aldi is awake!"

I ran inside and knocked on Aldi's door. But Aldi didn't seem to want to wake up. I went back to Ibu Sulastri but I'm not in front.

I'm getting confused. Ibu Sulastri need what exactly the same Aldi. I saw a black sedan car go out. Mr. Doni is coming again.

"Sulastri's mother is still outside?"

"He's gone sir." Mr. Doni left immediately after I answered. I sat in the middle house and kept quiet.

I waited for Aldi to wake up but what if Aldi still didn't forgive me?

I went back to my room and played hp. I heard a cell phone ringing, it was a phone call from Kinan. I picked up the phone with pleasure.

Kinant

In fact, can you come to the club tonight?

Maya

Wh-wh-what for? Why did I go to the club? Mr. Doni won't let me out.

Kinant

You're authorizing him. Later that night there is a birthday event for Mr. Yanto's son. Name's Tara. The event must be lively, all employees are told to come and told to dress neatly.

Maya, I have two invitations here. I picked it up last night at the club.

Important or not, but I think it's important. I let Aldi take a shower, I keep sitting in the middle seat while pushing hp. I then moved to my room.

I'm worried because I have to work tomorrow. I'd rather stay in this big house and spend some time there.

Mr. Doni then came to me and told me that tonight I was invited to the club. "To Pak Yanto's club..?"

"Yes, Pak Yanto's club. His son's birthday, I was invited earlier in the chat." explained Mr. Doni to me. I feel good hearing that. I thank God for this blessing.

When Dzuhur arrives, I must pray immediately. I met Aldi when I was going to take a shower in the back bathroom. She looks fresh with her hair still wet. Aldi passed me without saying a word.

I entered the bathroom and took a bath with water in the bathtub. I thought I'd meet Kinan later. Kinan must have been happy to see me coming on the show.

After bathing I prayed as usual. After the prayer I knock on Aldi's room door.

"Who..?" Aldi answered from behind his locked room.

"Me, Maya!"

"What's wrong? The door is not in the lock, come in!"

I opened the door and saw Aldi in a sitting position holding his phone. He sat on his bed. Aldi used to sleep under even though on the side there was already a spring bed mattress.

"Aldi, I just wanted to say that Sulastri's mother came."

"I know, I saw him from here."

"Why don't you come out?"

"I'm lazy, still sleepy. I'll meet Mom at her store later if I have time."

"Yes can."

"There will be a birthday event for his son Pak Yanto, you are invited by Father..?"

"Yes, I was invited. You too..?"

"of course. You've just been taken." Aldi's timpal told me. I don't think that Aldi is more entitled to be invited by Mr. Doni than I am.

I was embarrassed for him. I am nobody in this house. I'm just a complement. It should be Sulastri's mother here, not me.

I then entered the room and could not make a gift for Tara's son Pak Yanto. I should how? I don't have any money for Tara later.

I'm waiting for Asar's prayer. I saw Mr. Doni and Aldi out in his black Avanza. I don't know what they need.

I sat in the middle house watching television. I was quite amused until Mr. Doni came. I saw Aldi bring something. Like a new shirt.

I then ventured to knock on Aldi's door. "Excuse me..!"

"Lake in."

"Sorry Al, disturb. What are you doing..?"

"Oh yeah, you can help me make..?" aldi said hanging.

"Make what?" I still see the dark green still lying on the carpet with the plastic lid on.

"No, that's. Let me just."

"Yes, thank you." I came out feeling disappointed. I drove around and saw Mr. Doni wiping his car.

I pretended to say hello to Mr. Doni.

"Sir Doni likes to wipe the car..?"

"Not like but duty" said Mr. Doni replied. I remember that I haven't washed the rest of Mr. Doni's and Aldi's dishes.

I then ran towards the kitchen, but the dishes and gelas were no longer in the tub of water. That must be Aldi's job. I'm being embarrassed. I have absolutely no benefit at Mr. Doni's house.

I was misbehaving. I then decided to go to the park and throw some flowers that had been again and fell to the ground.

I saw Aldi coming out looking for the wind. Aldi wore a white sinlet shirt while moving his hands.

Aldi called me. "Maya, what are you doing there..?"

"I picked up a falling flower. I'm gonna clean up the park."

"no need. Let me." he continued to me. I stopped taking the flowers and saw Aldi coming towards me.

He picked up a broom that was leaning against the wall and swept through the garden. "You're so diligent."

"Thank you" he said.

I saw Aldi sweeping the garden while changing seats on the porch of the mansion. Aldi's house and Mr. Doni's.

"Maya, please take this trash out."

"Yes." Yeah."

I immediately walked towards the park and picked up the dumpster and threw it into the ravine. I saw Aldi back to the mansion on foot.

I am grateful to meet a man like Aldi. I suspect, why is Aldi not behaving as sentiments as yesterday?

Evening came, I was already preparing for the bath and preparation of the magrib prayer. Because soon, Pak Doni's family and I will go to the club, to the birthday of Tara Pak Yanto's son.

I'm ready with some neat clothes. Brown hijab, dark brown dress suit.

I came out of the room and waited for the owner of the house in the living room.

I saw Aldi come out wearing a white shirt with a bow tie. He's got a gift box.

I didn't see Mr. Doni come out of the room. Aldi took me directly. "Yeah!"

"Sir Doni..?"

"Dad didn't come, he told me."

"Why can..?"

"Let's explain it in the car." Aldi continued to me.

Whether happy or unhappy, I just keep following Aldi from behind. Want me to go back to Mr. Doni's room to just see the situation but can't.

Aldi had already rushed his way to the car garage next to the house. Aldi and I stepped into the back door before reaching the garage.

I got into the car after Aldi got in first. Aldi is ready to drive. Aldi and I are ready to go to Pak Yanto's Arista club.
