Love At the End of Ramadan

Love At the End of Ramadan
Chapters 1. Kirana

Dusk began to rise to the throne. Refracts the orange hue that seems to spoil the eyes. The atmosphere was even more crowded with iron horses caressing the streets of the capital. As a sign if this is the time to go home from work.

Kirana, a twenty-five-year-old woman, was seen sitting in one of the cafes in the city center. The location of the cafe that is not too far from where he works, is always a temporary stopover until the atmosphere of the road can return to normal. Surely the atmosphere of the streets free from congestion and all kinds of hustle and bustle. Occasionally, the slightly wavy black-haired woman seemed to enjoy the atmosphere of the street from behind the glass.

The vehicle line is moving slowly. The drivers are trying hard to break free of traffic. The sound of vehicle horns also sounded simple. As if impatient to be able to immediately escape from the congestion that causes fatigue.

"Ran, it's office hours. Why are you so busy with your laptop?"

Mira, a close friend, walked up to Kirana with two cups of vanilla latte in her hand. The aroma of espresso coffee blend with full cream milk can actually distract Kirana. He who had previously focused on the fourteen-inch screen in front of him, now he linked his gaze towards Mira. A faint smile rose on her thin lips.

"I overtime Mir, maybe at the end of this month I get a big bonus because it is called to be the most diligent employee. Even though the office hours are over, I'm still busy with my laptop."

Kirana's laughter was slightly heard seeping into the sense of hearing. The woman grabbed the vanilla latte cup that was in front and started sipping it slowly. Instantly, he could feel a relaxed mood.

Mira also laughed slowly. "Does a person like you deserve a big bonus at the end of the month? I don't think you need that Ran."

Kirana squinted her eyes. Looking at the question mark of his close friend's face. "Why me, Mir? I am also an employee at the place where we work. So I guess, I have the same right to join the monthly bonus hunt."

Mira's getting tickled. Hearing a Kirana join a bonus hunt at the end of the month is very funny. Though previously, Kirana had told me that she worked only to escape from the ultimate saturation.

"You are the man of being and of adequacy, Kiran. Without having to work overtime you will never lack. Is it worth it if you're on the hunt for a monthly bonus?"

Kirana clucked softly as she shook her head. Although she comes from a well-to-do family, but the woman still tries to stand on her footrest. Do not want to rely too much on the property of parents.

"Cckkckkkk .. You are, always like that Mir. Appalled me more. I am the same as you and everyone else."

Mira was increasingly made anxious with the mimic of his best friend's face. Conical lips, cheeks slightly bulging like puffer fish increasingly make this woman look very funny. But this is one of the characteristics of Kirana that Mira likes. Although Kirana's life is so perfect with the material she has, her best friend is still humble.

"Alright if you still want to be busy struggling with office work. But if the end of the month you get a lot of bonuses, do not forget to share with the dhuafa like me, Ran," said Mira with laughter.

"Hmmmm .. okay. I will set aside a little sustenance that I get to share with the dhuafa like you, Mira," Kirana said with a reassuring face and punctuated with small rascals as well.

The pair of friends seemed to be chatting full of familiarity. The laughter seen from a distance seemed to reinforce that both of them dissolved in warmth. Share feelings and share stories about life.

The traffic jam going on out there, is slowly starting to unravel. The vehicle began to accelerate at high speed which had previously been traveling at ramps. As if to soon arrive home to re-assemble with relatives.

I looked at the Maghrib Adhan beginning to sound in my ears. A reminder for Muslims to quickly fulfill their obligations. Prostrate to worship the owner of the universe and all its contents.

Kirana closed the laptop in front. Put it back in the bag he was carrying and intended to say goodbye. Back to the house where his parents had been waiting for his return with all their longing.

"Mir, I'll go home first. The road is not jammed."

"Already Adzan, should you not pray first Ran? So when on the road, you feel calm?"

Kirana shook her head slowly. "No Mir. I'll just go home. Later if I pray, the hunt is jammed again this road. You know for yourself what Jakarta is not?"

"But Ran, we do not pray for half an hour. So let's pray first. There is also a place to pray in this cafe."

Mira relentlessly tries to persuade Kirana. Although he knew that Kirana was not very obedient in worship but he still did not give up on inviting his friend to always remember his obligations. He believes that one day, the door of his best friend's heart will open.

Kirana shook her head again. "No Mir. If you want to pray, pray. But I came home first. I'm worried if the road gets stuck again."

Mira could only be flabbergasted without believing hearing Kirana's reasoning. The woman was even more afraid of getting stuck in the street than the recorded sin of having abandoned her prayer. Really, it was very difficult for him to digest in his senses.

"But Ran  ...."

Mira's words were interrupted as Kirana walked closer towards her. The woman slightly bent down to be able to hug the body of Mira who was still faithful sitting in her chair. Kiss the right cheek and kiss the left cheek not to forget he gave it to Mira.

"I'm going home first Mir. Drug..."

Without further ado Kirana breezed away leaving Mira who was still in silent mode a thousand languages. Soon, his consciousness began to return completely.

Mira anchored her gaze toward the outside of the glass. Apparently, Kirana had entered the car and started to spur the speed of her vehicle. Slowly, the shadow of the car began to disappear swallowed by the bustling streets of the capital.

"I can only pray that someday you will find your way, Ran. You're the perfect woman. Your face is beautiful, your heart is kind and surely it will all be more perfect if you obey your Lord's command."

Mira monologues lirih. As the heart rises, may the Almighty open the door of guidance for dear friends. Mira moved from her sitting position. Make sure there are no items left on the table. He swung his legs towards the Musholla to fulfill his duty.
