Longing Memories

Flashback #2

Dedi does not realize that there is a large snake waiting for prey in the middle of the road that Dedi will pass. He continued walking without having any premonition that there was danger lurking around him.

Soon he will arrive at his next destination. The rice paddies are not far from the row of banana trees.

Sreeet…

There was the sound of friction of dry leaves on the ground. Dedi stopped his steps and sharpened his vision but did not see anything strange nearby.

Sreet.. Sretti.. 

Shhh.. Shhtt…

The sound of swiping leaves again sounded coupled with the sound of hissing which of course immediately made Dedi glued to silence in place. Finally he found what he was in his car, it turned out to be a large python who was in the middle of the road as if waiting for his own prey that approached him.

Because the distance between him and the snake was still quite far, then with the movement made as smooth as possible, the, he lit his torch fire with a lighter aiming for the snake to fear the flame and eventually leave.

However, after waiting for a few minutes, the snake still remained unmoved in its place and as if still waiting for the arrival of Dedi which marked as his prey.

Dedi was very anxious and a little afraid, how not, now he was in an area that no longer had a home. Plus the day that has been getting night, adding to the gripping impression because no one passed by in this place.

O God help your servant. Please save the serpent. Anyone please come here. Dedi prayer from the heart, with the state of the body that began to shiver because the cold air of the night increasingly pierced the skin he still waited until the snake passed. Until without him knowing, it turns out someone from behind has walked towards him and suddenly patted his shoulder.

"Mas! How bengong?" The man who turned out to be Wanto, a gardener and cleaner at the residence of Juragan Slamet.

"Astaghfirullah, Wan!" Dedi replied surprised.

"Well, why are you standing here alone?"

"Sstttt.." replied Dedi as his index finger pointed in the direction in front of them. Wanto followed the direction of Dedi's index finger and was immediately shocked.

"Astaghfirullah, snake!" Said Wanto quietly, but still did not remove the aura of fear. 

"Where is this mas?" Ask Wanto back.

"We are not.." suddenly without them knowing, the snake was already near them and the tail had managed to wrap around Dedi's legs until he fell.

"Astaghfirullah Mas Dedi! Help me!!! Help!!!" Frantic cries of Wanto trying to ask for help from all villagers.

"Wanto! Help me!" Tedi cried out in panic because he felt the snake had started to wrap around his entire body. He also tried to calm down and not look too panicked so as not to make the snake surprised and get angry, so it would be fatal for Dedi.

Wanto while still shouting for help, helped release the snake's entanglement by beating it using large stones around it. However, it actually made the snake angry, with the tail that wrapped around the body of Dedi, the head of the snake facing toward Wanto and showed a hunting expression. Perhaps the snake also considers that Wanto is the next prey. 

Wanto and the other man continued to beat the snake with whatever weapon was near them at the moment. Dedi also beat the snake with his bare hands because of his legs that were already in the snake's entanglement. Dedi felt that his entire body had begun to relax, either because of the snake's entanglement or because he was expending too much energy to escape from the snake's entanglement.

It took several hours to kill the snake, the snake died because its head was constantly beaten with a large stone after the two snake eyes had been pierced by one of the two men.

Dedi also managed to get out of the entanglement of the snake with a very weak condition. He was no longer able to walk. Finally, by mutual agreement, Dedi was brought to the home of the Slamet Scout that night. 

The house of the master who was not too far from the scene became one of their reasons for bringing Dedi there.

With the body supported by the two men of great stature, they walked towards the home of the Slamet Scout. Throughout the journey no one spoke. The four of them were silent with their thoughts.

Shortly after, they arrived at the house. In his seat Dedi on the porch chair of the house, then Wanto immediately went to the kitchen to give Dedi a drink.

While the two big tall men who turned out to be named Agus and Fakhri, accompanied Dedi on the terrace while occasionally exhaling cigarette smoke.

"Can you see the big snake?" Ask Agus.

"I was again going to the rice field near the banana garden, it was not far from there there was a snake that was silent in the middle of the road, at first I also did not see. Surprised I knew it was such a big snake. Hiiii." Dedi replied while shuddering in horror.

"Thankfully the sampeyan ga in the winding up to the neck of the mas, if it gets there via sampeyan, we can't help anymore." This time it was Fakhri who talked to Dedi.

"Yes, fortunately I also met Wanto on the road. If Wanto doesn't go that way, somehow my fate is mas."

"Yes, pinter emang the Wanto sneered at the snake so that his head continued to block him, making the focus of the snake break so that his twists on your feet are not very tight."

Soon Wanto also came with in followed the boss who made the three men in front of the terrace immediately stood saluting the Juragan Slamet.

"Assalamualaikum, Juragan." Greetings them simultaneously.

"Moskvallam. Loh is there you in? Why did you come here at night?" Ask Juragan Slamet who joined them and let them sit back.

"I'm sorry if I'm so lazy to take a short break here, I just got hit by a disaster." Answer Dedi by lowering his head.

"Yes, it's okay. Why did you get three of them to be the same?" Ask the coach back.

"Sorry, I was on my way in the face of a large snake and the snake managed to wrap my legs, he said, it was fortunate that I met the three of them so they helped me escape the entanglement of the snake."

"Thank God, then you're finally safe. It just so happens that you're here, Di, I'd like to offer you a job."
