Chapter 5. Zaskia Tells a Story

What Mitha experienced was different from her friends. At that moment the cold wind that barged in was getting stronger and stronger. Then there was the sound of heavy rain falling from the sky. Jacky and Sam immediately ran forward to close the doors and windows of the villa. Meanwhile Zaskia was still face to face with Mitha.

Suddenly a flash of light struck a spruce tree by the road near the villa. Her voice boomed. A moment later followed the sound of the branches breaking and falling crackling to the ground.

Lusy, Yuli, and Aline screamed in fear. Simultaneously, Mitha's body fell backward towards Aline. Nervously Aline tried to catch the body of her best friend.

Dodo and Wawan who were still sitting near Zaskia after cleaning his charcoal grill immediately jumped up and ran towards Aline. They helped hold Mitha's body from sagging to the floor. But before long Mitha's consciousness and body strength recovered, although she had not been able to stand up straight.

Jacky and Sam immediately return to the living room and find Mitha falling on Aline's lap. They along with Dodo and Wawan immediately touched Mitha's body to help her walk towards the dining chair. Yuli immediately took the warm water while Lusy ran to the front room to retrieve the eucalyptus oil from the medicine box.

"Mitha why? Why does it happen like this?" ask Jacky.

"Mirh ...! It must be because of you!" Dodo replied while looking intently at me. He seems so angry.

"You guys stood facing each other. You stopped talking for a while, before long Mitha fell unconscious! What have you done? I'm afraid your presence here could hurt us too!" dodo continued.

Suddenly all eyes were on me who was standing beside Budi. They all moved slowly away from me. Only Jacky is left in his place, though not too close to me. For a moment he looked at me with doubt. Meanwhile I saw Mitha regaining consciousness and watching me from her seat.

"Hey, Zaskia ...!" suddenly I heard Jacky calling me.

"This is the umpteenth time you have made a mess and a fuss with us. Get out of front of us tonight. Go home first. Let us calm down" Jacky continued.

Jacky told me to leave. I don't know why I don't like people like him. I don't like that look in the eye. I threw my face towards Mitha. He's still watching me. Mitha is actually a good boy. But why would I want him to stay away from me. I don't know why Mitha was always my victim.

"Actually I'm glad you guys visited this White Villa. I have friends. But if it's your will, then I'll go."

"Zaskia, where are you going? Gini nights, rain again. To Mr Lynn's house?" ask Aline. I just shook my head.

"Where are you going?"

"To my place. I live behind this villa."

"Oo, so your family lives near here, huh? Maybe if I could play to your place. I want to see your parents."

Suddenly I saw Mitha turning her head towards Non Aline while holding her hand. His facial features seemed to disagree with Non Aline's wishes. But Non Aline did not understand Mitha's intentions.

"Isn't that right, Mith? And all of you?" continued Aline.

Aline asked her friends for approval. But I saw Mitha quickly shaking her head in disapproval. While the other Non Aline friends just keep quiet. They may disagree too.

"No need, Non Aline. I'll just stay there alone."

"Where are your parents?"

"I am a kara. I lost everyone I loved five years ago. That tragic event has separated me from them."

All were shocked to hear Zaskia's confession. They felt pity, but there was fear as well if Zaskia was still here.

But Mitha was silent. He hesitates to answer Jacky's question because he can already guess what he will say will not be able to change Jacky's opinion about the ghost. Jacky again stepped away after Mitha did not also answer his question.

Mitha turned her gaze to Aline and said, "I came to know why the previous villa owner sold this villa for such a low price."

"Yes, I just learned about this too. So is the ghost disturbance so creepy or dangerous that the villa is for sale?" ask Aline.

"I don't know," Mitha replied, turning her eyes to Zaskia, "Zas, whose ghost is she?"

"I don't know. He is like me, has a sad past" I replied.

Yuli and Lusy immediately ran towards the front room. While Aline assisted Wawan and Dodo holding Mitha's body. Sam and Budi stood before them facing Zaskia.

"Who's coming, Mith? That ghost?" ask Aline.

"Yes, the ghost ...! Eskimo ...! Damaged-faced girl ...! She ..., she .. wants to ask for something!" mitha replied with a trembling voice. Although the three friends did not see the ghost, but they felt the atmosphere in the middle room became gripping.
