Chapter 3. I'm Not a Ghost

I came down the stairs and walked up to them. Spontaneous two of Aline's girlfriends stood up from her seat. Now the seven of them stood up and watched my steps. I don't know what's on their minds. Maybe they think I'm the ghost that's been troubling Mitha.

A moment later they were able to breathe a sigh of relief when they found out for sure that both of my legs were completely stuck to the floor. But I saw Yuli, Aline's thin female friend, slightly shifting her standing position to the left and right side alternately while continuing to observe my body. Then Lusy, Aline's rather large female friend, brought her mouth closer to Yuli's ears while glancing at me. They were whispering so I wouldn't hear her talk.

"What are you looking for, Yul?"

"I looked for the shadow of the woman's body. Because I didn't hear his footsteps even though his feet were on the floor." Yuli put her mouth close to Lusy's ear.

"Wantas? Can you see the shadow?"

"Yes! I can see it, Lus. It's not a ghost."

While I was just silent expressionlessly looking at the behavior of two of Aline's friends.

"You who? Aline's brother?" lusy asked started a conversation with me. He looked back at me from head to toe.

"No! O yes, my name is Zaskia. I am in charge of taking care of and guarding this White Villa," I replied.

Those friends of Aline just nodded hearing my little explanation. At that time I was going to continue my talk, but Budi, a male friend of Aline who was rather short stature interjected.

"Wait a minute" he said, "Where do you know he's named Jacky?" budi continued while pointing at Jacky, a tall man, who was still standing near the television. Jacky was surprised. He who from the beginning does not believe in invisible things must rethink.

They were all stunned to hear Budi's question. While I did not also immediately answer and just stared flatly at Budi. For a while the atmosphere of the front room became quiet. Suddenly the Dodo who was acting as the driver in the car that Aline and Mitha were riding asked a different question to me.

"Where are Aline and Mitha now? From the moment we entered this room until you came down the stairs, we had not seen them. I saw them enter the villa first with you" said Dodo.

"Yes, that's also your point, Do. Hey, Zaskia! Or whoever you are! Where are Aline and Mitha?" sahut Wawan's.

"Maybe he has kidnapped Aline and Mitha," Yuli added with a terrified expression.

"If he wasn't an invisible creature, there would have been someone else with him" Sam said softly.

All his friends looked at Sam.

The atmosphere of the front room of the White Villa became tense. And no one is talking. Their eyes then turned to me. After that I saw Yuli and Lusy holding hands tightly and feeling the coldness of their hands.

They could not hide the fear that was clearly reflected on the face. Slowly they shifted their position toward where Jacky and Sam were. Meanwhile, the other three male friends, Wawan, Budi, and Dodo also approached them.

And the fear and suspicion that reemerged in the minds of Aline's friends grew stronger. The events that happened to Mitha. They assumed that something was wrong in the White Villa and did not want bad events to befall them like what Mitha had said before.

I took a deep breath and looked at them one by one. I must be able to explain so that they are no longer afraid and suspicious of me and can accept my existence here.

"As you have seen. I'm like you guys too. I opened the door to enter the room, I stepped on the floor to walk, I also went up and down the stairs," I opened the conversation, "I'm replacing Mr. Lynn, the guardian of this villa and the villas around here, to welcome and prepare the needs of Non Aline and you during the holidays here."

They met face to face and nodded. It seems they can accept my explanation. Though their suspicions still exist.

"When your car came into the front yard of this villa, I was in the upper room. I heard and saw all the things you've been through there. I memorized your names when you said each other's names" I continued.

Now I can see their faces no longer tense. They start to look relaxed and look for a place to sit.

"Now I'll show you your room. There are two rooms downstairs that are ready for the five of you" I said, looking at them and pointing to the room.

"Okay, we split the two. You three. I'm the same Sam," Jacky suggested.

"Yuup ..," said Sam, carrying his backpack and guitar.

"That sound is from Aline's room?" asked Lusy while looking up then looked at me deeply.

Jacky and Sam immediately put back their belongings and ran up the circular staircase to the second floor. Followed by five other friends. Up on the top floor the voice was heard louder and louder with the voice of a woman asking for help. They immediately headed for the source of the sound. At the door, they looked panicked. Jacky and Sam then approached and tried to open the door.

"City ...! Mitha ...! Are you guys in this room?" jacky yelled repeatedly while flailing his hands at the door. Aline and Mitha who were inside responded by hitting back at the door.

"Yes! I'm the same Mitha inside!" shout Aline.

"Did you lock this door?" jacky said, holding his head close to the door.

"No! Zaskia opened this door. After that he went down. Lock the door with Zaskia. I don't know, she's either locked this door or not!" Mitha's voice came from inside the room.

"Huh ...! Zaskia again! What does he really want? He always makes a fuss!" grunts Jacky. He looked so upset because of Zaskia.

"It looks like Mitha is who she wants. Of the two incidents, there was always Mitha who was the victim" added Dodo.

"Because only he knows and can communicate with invisible beings! Maybe he's the main target!" sahut Budi's.

"But, isn't Zaskia also human like us?" yuli's Disputation.

"We must be vigilant because ghosts can resemble and mimic human behavior." Remind them.

Yuli and Lusy goosebumps hearing Budi's explanation. While the five of them again tried to open the door of the room where Aline and Mitha were confined.

Sam approached the door again and moved the doorknob while trying to push it open. Jacky and his three friends help out in turn. But still did not manage to open it.

"Aline, Mitha ..., are you all right inside?" ask Yuli.

"Yes! I'm the same Mitha is fine. But I can't open this door from the inside" Aline replied from inside the room.

"Aline and Mitha are fine. We better calm down. Before we break this door, ask Zaskia where the key is" Jacky said.

"Where is the boy? Maybe he's still downstairs. Then let me find it first!" suhut Wawan then turned his back.

They didn't realize that I was near them. Until Wawan was surprised when he saw me already in front of him and he almost hit me. He was stunned for a moment looking at me with a watchful attitude.

Meanwhile, there was still the sound of the doorknob being moved from within. Apparently Aline and Mitha were still trying to open it.

"Hey, where have you been? You deliberately let us panic and didn't want to help!" wawan said again.

"I've been here following you. You're the only ones not paying attention" I replied.

Suddenly a creaking sound of the door opened followed by Aline and Mitha splashing out of the room. Aline's friends look relieved.

"Now you see! What did you just do to Mitha? Did you accidentally lock her in the room with Aline? If you were the one who was guarding this White Villa, would you forget that Aline was the owner's child?" Wawan looks angry at me.

"I didn't mean that. I'm sorry Non Aline. I just forgot to tell Non Aline that this main room door is a bit difficult to open. According to Mr. Lynn, it has worn out the door handle and the key. Need to replace." I explained to them.

Everyone can accept my excuses and Aline forgives me. Mitha just looked at me deeply. It was like he was thinking something.
