Kenzo still follows his brother through the back garage that Kenneth used to wear. The man finally walked quickly to intercept his brother.
They're silent. Neither Kenzo nor Kenneth spoke.
"Sorry Ken's". Chirps Kenzo softly, he ducked with a face full of regret.
Kenneth looked away. "Make what? You should have talked about it with mom papa, not me. They lied to me, not me".
Kenzo's getting pias, feeling faint to just swallow his saliva. From Kenneth's cold, flat tone, the man must have been angry with him. Not about lying and being lied to, but in fact the honesty of a brother deserves to be acknowledged. He wished Kenneth would come closer to him, showing such concern when he was worried about the man.
Yet Kenneth was still acting ordinary, as if his actions had no effect on the heart in the slightest.
Kenzo took a long breath. "Gue will definitely talk to them".
Kenneth nodded briefly. "Hem, you should be so rich". Reply while walking past Kenzo who is now silent.
The tall man walked towards the kitchen which was directly connected to the rear garage, for a moment he pegged on the kitchen doorstep. While Kenzo walked lethargicly past Kenneth towards the main door.
Kenzo opens the door, his mom sitting on the sofa in front of the television, waiting for him to come home. Kenzo sighed heavily, finally deciding to go inside.
Fina noticed Kenzo's presence, the young woman warmly welcomed her son with a hug.
"Are you late for coming home?". Fina asked who was still hugging Kenzo.
Kenzo bit his lip, glancing at Kenneth who was beside the stairs. His brother just silently looked in his direction.
Kenzo's feelings are not out of whack. He had to talk honestly about what was happening, or as always be willing to pull Kenneth to cuddle with him.
Kenneth's facial features are difficult to guess, even though they are twins, Kenzo could not understand what Kenneth meant.
Fina took off her embrace, she was only aware of the bruises that filled Kenzo's face. "This is why, dear? You fighting?".
The woman checked her son's body with a worried face. As soon as Kenzo screeched as he accidentally pressed a single point of wound, he was instantly so sure that his son was just fighting.
"Zo who's doing this with you?". Fina grimaced slightly looking at the torn wound on the corner of her son's lips.
"Who are you fighting?".
Kenzo did not answer, but the man still looked at Kenneth who was silent.
Fina looked towards Kenzo's view. He immediately snorted coldly.
"You're rich because of him, right?!!! Because of that kid?!!". Fina pointed loudly at Kenneth.
"No ma!!!! It's not Kenneth that's doing it, it's my own fault!!".
Fina shook her head in disbelief. "No Zo!. This must be because of him!! He didn't fight you, did he?!!".
"No ma!! Mama don't say that, it's because it's my own fault!!". Kenzo shouted in frustration. It was hard to convince Fina in such a good way.
"Huh!! Or maybe he made you think? He hit you?!! That kid is really insolent!!". Fina dodged.
Kenzo shakes in disbelief. "Ma, it's not Kenneth's fault". Worrying.
Fina chuckles amusedly. "You can't lie to Zo's mom, you purposely covered this up right? You always come home in this state, how long has he been doing this with you?!!".
Kenzo shook his head slowly.
"IMPERFORMANCE!!!".
Fina let out a rough breath, she walked towards Kenneth who was still in place. However Kenzo immediately hugged Fina from behind, telling Fina to calm down and shut up. He also directed Kenneth to enter the room.
"KEN, GET INTO THE ROOM!!!".
"HERE YOU!! YOU MUST BE TAUGHT A LESSON!!!!".
Fina was still shouting thrashing, telling Kenzo not to stop her. While Kenzo cussed at Kenneth who was still in place.
"KENZO FREELANCING MAMA!! YOU HAVE TO TEACH THAT CHILD A LESSON!!".
"KENNETH I SAID COME IN!!".
"KENNETH IN KEN!!".
"KENZO FREELANCING MAMA!!".
"DAMN KID!!".
Relented. Kenneth walked quickly up the stairs to his room. He closed the door slowly, then sat on the floor, leaning against the door with his legs folded. Cupping his face at the folds of his feet with his hands that ruffled his hair was frustrating.
Always like this. Not far from the obvious yelling and rejection. It would be foolish if he still expected Fina to accept it. It sounded trivial, yet it was a very precious thing for him.
Several times he was beaten, he felt no pain at any point. He always felt that every blow he received, did not hurt compared to what Fina said. The sentence deeply pierced his heart, even slowly but surely would kill him. He is better to be beaten and stabbed many times compared to listening to the cries of hatred from Fina.
Kenneth went to the study table, he sat in a chair looking at the books lined up in front of him neatly.
"Lo should be able to make them proud, don't bother them keep Ken". She nodded with a bitter smile.
On the other hand Kenzo threw his bag over the study table, sitting on the side of the bed with a riled face. Thinking about how else to make his people aware of Kenneth. That Kenneth was their son, Kenneth was and still is their son, his brother deserves the same treatment as him.
He wanted to cry if he saw Kenneth was always like that. If Kenneth would look ordinary, but what about his broken self.
Kenneth always looked fine, as if taking things lightly. Act like that but the human heart can be hurt. Kenneth felt it for years.
Tok tok tok tok
"Zo, open the door, baby".
Kenzo glanced for a moment, his eyes glazed over and his brain was still thinking about Kenneth.
"Kenzo, mama wants to talk to you".
Fina is still talking out there. Kenzo remained silent and pondered.
Hearing there is no movement inside. Fina finally decided to forcefully open the door. The woman saw Kenzo pensively by the side of the bed. He paused for a moment, then walked closer to his son.
"Kenzo".
Kenzo glanced, then reviewed a thin smile. He stood before Fina. "Sorry Kenzo ma, Kenzo was fighting mama".
Fina smiled sweetly, then shook her head and pulled Kenzo into her arms. "Mama's sorry for being angry with you".
The woman elaborated her embrace, looking up at her son's handsome face. "Mama just don't want you to be affected by that kid, he's not good baby".
Fina hugged Kenzo again tightly, channeling her overwhelming worries as a mother.
Unaware of Kenzo's pitiful facial features with a speck of tears streaming down his cheek.
Let him say that his mother was very selfish. Doesn't understand him wanting Kenneth to be with them back. Building on the true meaning of family, shows that the falsehood he thinks about his family is not real. Passing through happy days without bringing up the past.
He just wants his family to live a normal life like any other family. Without comparison and hatred.
Kenzo wants a real family.
