"KENZ!! COME DOWN SON, HAVE LUNCH!!". Fina, the mother of two, had just made a meal for her family lunch.

His hands were busy arranging the dishes, but his glance was on his son who knew he was sitting on a chair.

Kenzo smiled a big smile. "As promised, today mama cook my favorite rendang".

Fina chuckled, but she still nodded her head in agreement with her son's words. "Let's eat".

With a spirit Kenzo grabbed his plate and pointed it at Fina.

"The rice is a little, the drums are many"., said Kenzo, Fina only chuckles but also obeys the wishes of her son.

"So you're gonna eat together without papa?".

On the doorstep, Reyhan stood in his office uniform and held up his briefcase. Fina chuckled amusedly, the other with Kenzo who was shouting happily.

"Loh papa's coming home? Kirain wants to stay in the office". Kenzo said.

Reyhan sat on the chair joining the others. "Now dong. Your mom said you want to cook rendang today, so you can't miss it either".

They eat lunch undisturbed, savoring and occasionally interspersed with jokes. Kenzo seemed enthusiastic about telling about his school today, his activities, as well as his friends.

Today is a happy day. The family that was engrossed in the food did not realize someone was standing in the garage doorway, staring at those who were laughing in his absence.

Kenneth threw his face away, feeling the pain that again pinched his heart. That overwhelming fear always managed to lead him to a gaping wound. Without ever being treated by the growing longing, and time no longer on his side.

"KENNETH!!".

Kenneth tried to come to his senses, he looked at Kenzo waving at him. While Fina looked at him flatly, and Reyhan who did not seem to care.

He smiled thinly. The rejection was again present for him, he was always aware of it. About everything.

"Kenzo, finish your food!". Fina's orders don't look like it.

Kenzo's face shriveled, staring dislikely at his mother. "But ma, Kenneth hasn't eaten either. She will be sick_".

"Eat Kenzo!!".

"Ma!! Kenneth that's your son too, he's here eating with us!!".

"We are family!!".

"Kenneth watch your words, finish your food now!!".

"Mama!!". Kenzo again disappointed with Fina's words, he saw his sister who seemed to avoid, now Kenzo knows what Kenneth feels.

Kenneth walked into his room. There was a speck of hope as Reyhan looked at him. But that long stretch again made him aware of his position in this house.

He put his bag on the study table.

Again it happened. He heard Kenzo's screams echoing inside the house. Defend him, ask for his rights as a child. Which he should have gotten a long time ago, without being haunted by mistakes.

Fina again dodged him, ruling herself out as one of the children they should have loved. Not hate to be away like this.

Forever will never happen. Everything will never be the same as it used to be. The warm gaze and affection that had always been there for her had disappeared. Replaced with a flash of self-conscious hatred full of wounds.

Even for himself not expecting it back, he realized that the destiny he wanted was not on his side.

There will be time, though. He only prayed that the universe would not distance itself from that hope. That happiness.
