I Reincarnated As a Tree

I Reincarnated As a Tree
Low 8: Take me to Hell

Three evolutions, all options are the kind of herbs I'm very familiar with. First was the herb that became the manufacturing ingredient of the Mana energy potion, the Blue Moon Herb.

In my previous world I could easily find this plant in the forest, even some kingdoms cultivated the herbs in the fields. The Blue Moon Herb had Mana energy-boosting properties which made it indispensable to magicians.

While the second evolution is Mandrake or Mandragora, a tuber-like plant Ginseng. One of the main raw materials for making top level potions (High) to sepesial level (X).

The last one is Black Lotus. It is an herbal ingredient that can be used to create Undead special healing potions. Just for information if undead creatures such as Zombies, Skeletons, Wraiths and the like will experience the opposite effect if using ordinary potions. The holy magic contained in ordinary potions would make them poisoned.

Black Lotus can also be used to make monster summoning perfumes. Because of the usefulness of this flower I used to use it to destroy a city, by spraying the fragrance of Black Lotus perfume at various points of the city and not long after thousands of monsters came attacking.

“Haha... wonderful times.” I thought back to destroying some of the cities that had god temples in them, after thinking about them a few times I also found the answer to which evolution I would take. “Sure it is Mandragora.” I said to the tree of evolution.

[Why, I thought you would choose Black Lotus?]

The word evolution tree makes me ask, “Why do you think I would choose that evolution?.”

[It's because I see the devil in you.]

“Devil?.” I'm getting more astonished.

[You seem to have repeatedly entered hell and been touched by the god of the underworld]

The word evolution tree reminds me of how my life in hell, “Oh yeah, it hurts to remember..”.

I remember the first time I entered Hell. After mother's death, I who became a slave was bought by people from the cult. They worshiped the devil seven sins, and wanted to use me as a sacrifice along with six other children.

Screams and cries rang out inside the sacrificial chamber, one by one the perverts slaughtered the children slaves they had bought. The sounds of screams and cries slowly subsided as each child was already dead with their neck slashed.

Lastly it was my turn to be sacrificed. The dagger that had taken the lives of the other children was stuck to my neck, yet I did not care and just silently stared blankly. Seeing my attitude made the ritual leader feel angry for wanting the wails and cries he should have heard.

‘Just cry, no one will feel sorry for me. It's free to wail because no one will hear. Even gods will turn away no matter what I will experience.’

Then, fed up, the ritual leader doused my body with oil and burned my body in the middle of the ritual site. I was still sitting in silence as my entire skin burned up. Everyone just stared in wonder, they asked me how I could be such an emotionless human being, no one could answer even if the answer was so simple.

The Gods loved to see men suffer, for it was only in times of suffering that men begged for the mercy of the Gods.

The Gods did not want to be forgotten, therefore they inflicted various calamities on humans, so that when humans felt hopeless and helpless, they again remembered the God who gave hope and strength.

“I just don't want to be a chess piece played by the gods.” My words to the cult members are perverted. All the perverts were silent at the words of a girl whose body was covered in flames and was about to die.

The fire grew bigger and bigger, the pain so unbearable that it almost screamed. But realizing that someone would laugh when I cried, I held him back. Until the pain from the flames that were burning my body suddenly disappeared, yes it simply disappeared.

‘Am I dead?.’ I thought, but when I opened my eyes I still saw people from heretical cults. They were silent with frightened bodies staring at me, no more precisely they were staring at someone behind me.

Grab! Someone gripped my head whose entire hair had burned. The hand pulled my head up until my face looked up making me see the figure behind me.

It was the first time I met the god Hades. He emerged from the flames that were burning my body, his gaze so cold. “I'll show you the place to be for someone like you,” God Hades said to the cult members, he flicked his hand and then everyone was in my little burning ritual room whose head he was still holding.

Screams and cries were heard in the room, but this time it would be longer. The fire of the God of Hades will continue to burn for years, inflicting grievous torment on heretics.

“Now, are you also going to show me where I belong?.” I asked the God behind me. “Sure, come with me to hell!.” He forcefully pulled my hand towards a world where neither humans nor Gods wanted to enter.
