"How are you?" Greet Afkar when the man was near in front of Syafa. His smile expanded upon seeing the sweet face he had been waiting for from this morning. Afkar was so excited that he immediately contacted Uda Malik for a work permit again today. Yesterday he was allowed to go home quickly.
There was no answer from Shafa. He even got an unusual look from the beautiful woman in front of him.
Right now they were facing each other steady in longing.
"Why did you get this way, Mom?" Ask Syafa who is so surprised by Afkar's current condition. Her husband limps while walking.
Afkar smiled in anguish. "Yes it is like this now, it is flawed" Afkar replied. "Where are you? You're completely lost to the earth, Fa," Afkar continued.
"Sorry, Mom."
"No need to apologize, I was wrong. I've disappointed you with my depraved behavior at that time" Afkar said.
Afkar looked for a handle for him to stand on. Since the accident, Afkar has not stood up for long. She also noticed her husband's attitude.
"Better we sit down, Mom!" Shafa wants to help Afkar to sit down but Afkar refuses.
"I can be alone, Fa." Afkar refused. Then walk along with Syafa towards the sofa. The woman put the file she was holding onto the table first.
"Be careful, Mommy." Syafa helps Afkar sit on the sofa.
"Thank you, dear." Suddenly Afkar called Syafa with the call he used to say first. Shafa immediately retreated slowly and sat away from Afkar.
Afkar can see the change in Shafa's attitude. "I'm sorry, if you're uncomfortable with that call right now." Afkar straightened his right leg because he could not sit in a normal position. There was still a sense of pain that he felt in his legs. Afkar was a little grimace. And Syafa again saw the scene that sliced his heart.
"I'm sorry, if I can't be a good wife to you. Sorry when I was in the hospital at that time I left you," Syafa said while bowed down without daring to look at his interlocutor.
"You don't have to apologize, Fa. I was wrong too. I betrayed our marriage that day. You deserve to leave me. Forgive all my attitude while this self is still experiencing memory loss. I remember and I was ashamed of my greedy attitude, but all I gave back in your name, Fa. I have returned something that is not mine" Afkar said, staring at Syafa's bowed face. "And now I want to fix everything. I really wish we could get back together,"
Syafa looked up at Afkar and shook his head slowly.
"No way, Mom. Sorry if my decision would hurt you. My decision is still the same as yesterday. I want us to get divorced!" Shafa looked firmly at Afkar. He tried to strengthen his heart to speak like that to Afkar.
"Are you sure of your decision, Fa? Is there no chance for us to be together?"
Shafa shook his head again. "I've decided, Mom. My decision is round. Please appreciate that and now I'm asking you to come here just to seek approval for the sale of our home. The house that we once shared," Syafa replied while presenting a file containing a sales approval letter to Afkar and asking the man to sign it. "I hope you don't complicate things, Mom. Please sign this!" Shafa tried his hardest to endure his sadness.
Repeatedly Afkar stared at Syafa's bead and repeatedly avoided him.
Eventually, Afkar gave up. The man immediately signed the approval letter that Syafa requested.
"Papa wants to see you too, Mom. That's why I asked you to come here. You can wait a minute!" Ask Syafa while closing the file that Afkar has signed. Shafa's attitude still remains the same avoiding Afkar's eyes. With a quick movement Afkar grabbed the woman's hand.
Sontak made their eye beads meet again. Syafa again disconnected him by casting his eyes and pulling his hand from Afkar.
"Fa, isn't there a chance? Please look at me! I've given up Yara and Dhiya with their new lives. I also lost Anindita Chairi, our daughter. I don't want to lose you right now. I know my desire is selfish but am I wrong to keep it?" lirih Afkar's. Looks like a desperate face from the man.
"Anindita Chairi" said Syafa in disbelief.
"Yes, Dita our daughter, the little girl who had to be born before her time. Even his life was not saved at that time. The plan is to take you to visit our daughter's grave when we get home from the hospital. But I didn't find your whereabouts until yesterday where you called me. You seem to be lost in the swallow of the earth, Fa," Afkar said. He shifted his body so that his position was close to Syafa.
"I want to see Dita's grave!" syafa said softly while closing his eyes. A single tear did not feel flowing down her cheek. A shadow of the mistake he made to Yara flashed back in his mind.
"We can go there together, Fa." said Afkar.
"No! I'll go there myself" Shafa refused. "Just tell me where the address is?" Syafa remained adamant about his stance. "If I had not been selfish at that time. Wanting you alone, if I had known first that Yara was my sister, I would have let you go before everything was like this, Mas," Syafa said with regret.
"Everything's happened. I'm sure Yara is a sincere woman who is able to forgive us."
"Yara is not that kind of woman, I know her well. That's why I dare to invite you to Kemabli. I do not want. The household that is still intertwined with you must end. I really want to divorce her."
"No, Mas. The guilt will always be overshadowed by me!"
"I'm the same, Fa. Do you think I have no regrets about everything I've done. I'm just as sorry. Even bigger than you." Afkar ruffled his own hair. Both of his hands were on top of his thighs then propped up that frustrated-looking face.
"You are innocent. Papa is to blame in this complexity," said Mr. Rio who suddenly came with his wheelchair assisted by Lita, Syafa's new domestic assistant.
'Oh, it turns out that the man is the husband of Ms. Syafa.'
Inner Lita who just knew the figure of the husband of Syafa.
"Well, why didn't you tell me that papa was coming here, Ta?" reprimand Syafa to Lita. He was about to rise from his seat and approach the father. But quickly Mr. Rio prevented Syafa from standing up with the movement of his hand.
Finally Syafa came back to sit on the sofa according to his father's orders.
Seeing the arrival of Mr. Rio, Afkar got up to his feet despite the slight difficulty.
Afkar approached Rio. Then grab the hand of the aged man who looks much different than before. That tall, burly body, now looks skinny and frail. Afkar quickly endured it, kissing the back of his in-laws' hands in reverence.
"I'm sorry for my mistake, Dad! Sorry for hurting my feelings by hurting my two daughters. I really did not know and was not in power at that time. Afkar wasn't me. I'm really sorry!" Afkar squatted down and shed tears in front of Mr. Rio.
"The guilty man. If only, papa wasn't selfish about hiding your identity. Papa should have returned you to your wife and family back then. Yara will not be hurt. Syafa is the same. So all the culprits of this problem are papa. You, Shafa are not wrong here! Papa is guilty until you have a condition like this!" Pak Rio looked at the condition of Afkar's body.
"I've done it all, Pah. Maybe this is my destiny."
Mr. Rio pulled Afkar into his arms. "Papa is relieved to have apologized directly to you, son. The burden in this life feels reduced," said Mr. Rio interrupted by his embrace.
Afkar patted his parents-in-law softly. They forgave each other.
Afkar then turned to Shafa who was crying while looking at him. "I must also be willing to lose my wife a second time." Afkar looked at Syafa. "I'm waiting for a divorce from you, Fa. I'll grant your wish" Afkar said, making Syafa's feelings feel sliced. But isn't this what he wants.
Syafa could only nod slowly. "Sorry to go back for a minute!" Shafa rose from his seat and soon passed from before Afkar and his Papa. He tried to avoid.
Afkar sees Syafa's departure in despair.
Syafa walked quickly towards the kitchen. After arriving, the woman leaned her body against the wall, she spilled her sorrow there. His relationship with Afkar is coming to an end, that's the decision Syafa made.
Seeing Syafa's departure, Afkar took off his arms from his father-in-law.
