FLASHBACKS

Jonathan opened his eyes slowly, he saw the sunlight trying to sneak into his eyes trying to adapt.

Where'sisthis? paradise's? hell?

Jonathan tries to remember when he desperately plunged into the abyss to accompany Andrea, he realized he could not protect Andrea with his current strength. But-but

Jonathan looked at his right side, Andrea's head. He raised his right palm slowly, blood rushing.

"Don't get up yet."

Jonathan squinted his eyes, his brain trying to think.

"I told you, don't get up yet."

Jonathan saw a man sitting next to him while raising his hands above his body and Andrea. "Who-"

The man smiled. "Relax, I'm not an angel or a waiter for hell."

Jonathan increasingly did not understand the man's words. Even though he was a man, he admitted how handsome the man was, if not an angel or a demon then who? a human? there's no way that humans are here. In the depths of the abyss.

"Don't think much, your head will hurt."

"I don't understand, I should have died."

"No, you will not die. Since we've met, then I'll make sure you won't die."

"Who are you?"

The man smiled back. "Is an angel like you now concerned with an identity?"

Jonathan shook his head slowly. "I didn't mean it that way."

"I'm just stopping your bleeding, my strength is not enough to heal you two. I'm sorry."

"I myself don't know what it's like to be so badly injured like this."

"There are rarely people who are seriously injured like this. An anonymous angel cannot be touched by any creature except when he is off guard."

Jonathan looked at the man. "You-and"

"Your engagement, it's stopped bleeding." The man pulled his hand.

Quickly, Jonathan hugged Andrea tightly.

"Just calm down, I didn't take two of your fiance's hearts"

"Who are you?!" Jonathan really had to deal with this creature before him.

The man pointed at Jonathan's chest. "Where are you here?"

Jonathan felt his chest still wrapped in a suit. It's blank! Gone!

"Don't look at me like that." The man laughed loudly as Jonathan looked suspiciously at him.

"It can't just disappear."

"It can be lost."

Jonathan raised one of his eyebrows.

"No matter how much you protect it, it can disappear!"

Jonathan frowned. "My suit pocket and strength can't"

"Right now you only have ¼ life-depriving angel powers, when you fall and get hurt, your protector automatically breaks and the dagger can go free."

Jonathan cursed his stupidity, what this mysterious man said was true. He really could not think because he thought about Andrea's safety.

The man laughed. "Love is blind, yes" he said.

Jonathan could not reply to the man's words. "Why are you helping me?"

"Do you need a reason?"

Jonathan did not reply, he looked up at the sky and the high rocks of the abyss. Not visible on it.

The man sighed. "I help you not free."

Jonathan laughed cynically. "I thought so."

"You and your fiancee can't die, that's also one of the reasons to save you."

"I don't understand." Even Jonathan did not understand being able to speak at length without feeling any pain even though his body was full of blood, this fellow did stop the bleeding but did not heal, how could-not

The man brought his face closer to Jonathan's. "My name, Jaka. And I used to be a life-revoking angel, too."

Jonathan was surprised by the man's statement. "That-"

"You must have heard my old story, right? even I pioneered all of that. I'm the one who insists on getting the angels to support the ritual and I'm the one who's looking for a way to get us back to being human, even if it's hard."

"Reincarnation?"

"Nobody knows about it, junior. The only ones who know life after death are angels and God, not angels or nameless angels like us." Jaka tilted his head. "We need to leave this place immediately."

"From a distance I heard someone coming to save your fiancee, I guess she's a protector."

The seroja?

"Look on your right side!" jaka's orders.

Jonathan obeys Jaka's orders, he sees a man standing in the distance. Jonathan squinted his eyes to be sure. "That-" he saw a skinny old man with white gray hair and a violent face.

"Yes, he's the shaman who took your soul."

"Why is he here? isn't he dead?"

"Have you forgotten the basis of the power agreement with the exchange of souls?"

Jonathan knew it, but he didn't expect it. It was still fresh in his memory of how the shaman tried to hurt him just for being disobedient.

"He's found you, he wants to catch you."

"Not Andrea?"

"It looks like he has a personal grudge against you, otherwise he would have brought the others here to capture and take the heart of your fiancee."

"I can't just let Andrea here."

"We'll go, once your fiancee's protector is near. That shaman needs a lot of time to get closer here."

"I-i"

"Look, we don't have much time left." The man gritted his teeth. "You want to survive and save everything or die silly here with a lot of people dragged into your troubles?"

Jonathan glanced over Andrea's head. "All right." Answer after weighing for a moment.

"She's approaching soon. I'm counting down, you have to get ready - five-four-three-" Jaka closed his eyes while counting and holding Jonathan's hand. "Two-"

Jonathan closed his eyes.

Jaka opened his eyes and smiled. "One!"

Jonathan opened his eyes after feeling a fleeting shortness of breath, it was like teleporting to an ordinary human let alone a weak one like himself.

"Are you okay?" jaka asked while helping Jonathan sit down.

Jonathan was breathing violently, he only felt the effects now.

"Breathe slowly and then exhale." Jaka said while making a movement so as not to be exemplified.

"In..where?"

"What?" Jaka brought his ears closer.

"I.. ni... in... ma.... na?"

"Oh, we're just a few tens of kilometers away from where I came from, I can't go far considering how old I am."

Jonathan stared at Jaka cynically.

"You got no container?"

Jonathan raised one of his eyebrows.

"I can't go out long if there's no container."

Jonathan looked at Jaka.

"Like a doll so I can move freely, the problem is that I can't move freely out of the forest. I'll tell you later why, most importantly find me a new container I can help you."

Jonathan still does not believe Jaka's words but inevitably he must thank him for being helped. "And. dre..."

"What?"

"Ka. ma..r.." Jonathan holds Jaka's hand, hoping this guy can read his mind.

"I can't read your mind, but I can see the room with some dolls, is that your fiancee's room?"

Jonathan nodded small.

"It's okay if I borrow it and dirty it?"

Jonathan took a breath. Andrea was once angry because she accidentally sat on the pillow of Andrea's favorite doraemon.

"Seeing from the look on your face seems off limits huh?" Jaka smiled a little. "But you don't have a choice, do you? If we steal, someone will take down and punish us directly."

This guy really knows the rules of nameless angels. Inner Jonathan.

"Alright, you go to Andrea's room." Jaka patted Jonathan's shoulder gently.

Jonathan raised his eyebrows.

"I can't get in there, there's a protector. All that could get in there was his fiancee and some insignificant creatures." Jaka held Jonathan's hand, "I gave him 10 minutes to pick up the doll, after which I pulled you here. We don't have much time because your wounds are deep enough."

Jonathan nodded small. He no longer has an idea.
