Chapter 26 Dilemma

Tania woke up in the morning. All the homework was done before his mother and Rohimah's mother woke up. There was breakfast that he had to prepare.

Fortunately, last night he had to go to the Ndang bu stall to buy some eggs, soy sauce, instant noodles, canned fish, and crackers.

For breakfast he can cook only the ingredients. Later if it is somewhat unfortunate he will go to the market to buy other necessities.

Tania immediately remembered Rey. That guy, he'll be here by 11.

"Do I have to refuse? But, looking around Rey is a good guy. He said it was polite too. Also ... Rey is so sweet. Uh! What am I thinking?"

Tania's heart was palpitating. The shadow of Rey's smiling face instantly flashed through the mind. He can only smile.

"Son? Early in the morning was daydreaming. Ntar kesambet, loh." Ayu patted her son's shoulder. Tania was completely unaware of her mother's presence. When was her mother there?

"Ah. I'm awake." Tania smiled bitterly.

"Yes. Why are you smiling to yourself?"

"No, Mom. I met Rey yesterday."

"Which rey?"

"That's Mr. Rustam's son. They used to be here, but now they've moved to the other side of the village."

Bu Ayu looks bearded.

"Oh, Mr. Rustam's son. Mr. Rustam is a famous rich man in Rawa Indah Village, right? I hear mothers here often talk about him."

"Is she?" Tania becomes a minder. He realized who he was. What will people say? He must be the fruit of the lips in this village if together with Rey.

"Why is she pouting now?"

"Today Rey took me for a walk, ma'am."

Mom Ayu's face instantly became grim. Tania knew that her mother would not allow it, as Tania had thought.

"Let's just talk to Rey." Say ma'am Ayu.

Tania nodded slowly. Then he went on to prepare breakfast.

Tania glanced at the wall clock that already showed at 11 o'clock, she was getting more agitated.

Deg-degan, that's how he feels. Especially now that he heard the sound of a motorbike stopping right in front of the house. He looked at who came through the window.

Rey knocked on the door. Tania was confused as to how. Then Ayu ma'am came to signal that he was the only one who opened.

"Good morning, Bi." Rey said as Ayu opened the door. Tania could hear their conversation because she was not far behind her mother. Rey immediately shook hands with Ayu's mother, kissing the back of the woman's hand as respect.

"Morning, son Rey. Let's go in first." Take Ayu's mom.

Rey then goes in following Ayu's mom. Before he sat down on the chair, his eyes and Tania met each other. Tania only smiled slightly then turned her face away. They all sat down, as did Rohimah's mother who had just come to the living room.

Tania gestured to Rohimah's mother not to speak. Let her mother and Rey do the talking.

"Sorry Rey, I hear Rey's son Tania's going for a walk?" Ask Ayu ma'am.

"Yes, Bi. That's why I came here to ask for permission." Rey replied so kindly.

"Sorry before, son. Auntie knows you're Mr. Rustam's famous son. Here Auntie doesn't mean to offend you or anything, but Auntie thinks you understand."

Rey looked at Tania, she felt bad. But Tania knows, Rey is the type of person who has an adult attitude and definitely understands what her mother said earlier.
