In the car.
Don't know where Dion's taking him. Slashing, that was what Lily heard earlier. Where and who he doesn't know. The beautiful plan that had been arranged neatly while bathing was immediately shattered, like pieces of puzzles scattered.
The car started moving forward.
“Where are we going, Mas?” ask Lily in between her breakfast. Lily decided to eat her sandwich in the car after the drama.
When she was about to change clothes, Lily did not find black clothes in her wardrobe, all brightly colored. The girl was happy in her heart because that way she would not go to the sad event. Lily approached Dion who was having breakfast and said there were no black clothes in the closet.
Dion takes Lily to her wardrobe and gives her shirt.
“Mas sure I wear this shirt?” tanyanya was not sure. “This is oversize, Mas.” Stick that long-sleeved shirt on her body to measure how big and how long it is for her.
“That's my smallest shirt, wear it only.”
“It's too big, Mas. I drowned wearing this shirt,” she denied again.
“If you have to buy it first takes a long time. We're already late.”
“Then I don't have to come.” Giving a precise suggestion. Pray in your heart that the proposal will be approved.
“Can't, you have to come.” She looked at Lily as if she wanted to eat it.
“But how's the shirt?” Still trying to clear.
“Just use that. You can rank three but can't outsmart something like this. You can roll up his arm and put the end of that shirt in your pants. Just like having to be told,” replied Dion increasingly irritated because of the increasingly tight time.
Actually, the problem is not in the clothes. Lily just made excuses not to come along.
“Wait a minute, Mas.” Lily stopped Dion from coming out of the dress room. “Mas doesn't have ringworm or scabies or anything like that, right,” Lily squealed with laughter.
Dion turned his head, ruffled his waist, “punya, and soon you will catch it. Didn't you sleep in my bed for a month and put on my blanket.”
Lily shut up for a moment. Intentions want to punish Dion even he who got a crushing attack.
“Quick change your clothes!”
Get back in the car.
“Where will we sail to, Mas?”he asked again because Dion had not answered.
“Spend first your food just talk!”
“It's over.” Showing his empty hand.
“Your mouth is still full.”
Ahh this is it!
While the car started to creep on the big road. Traffic jams happen everywhere. Although it is still morning, but the vehicle is solid to creep on two lanes. It's natural to be stuck because today is the weekend. The time people spend on vacation or visiting relatives.
Lily was busy with her phone. Giving news to the chat group if he can not come, the reason is because there is a sudden family event.
“Mas, where are we going? Who exactly died?” ask Lily for the third time.
“Our family doctor, his wife died.”
“One time's love, Mas. Why did he die?”
“Because of pain.”
Lily looks bored. It's been an hour but the car is just progressing slowly. Had he not come, he would have been laughing with his friends.
Lily glanced beside him, looking Dion bored as well. Lily recalled the words Dion had to ask permission to go where and do what. Confused if now is the right time to say it or not. The face is always flat, there is no smile let alone laughter. I can't guess his mood is good or bad.
“Mas.”
“What's forgetting something?”
Dion. What I forgot, he thought. Dion has always been very disciplined and there is never a forgotten word in his dictionary. “Forgot what?”
Lily shuddered with that serious look. Dion is not the right person to be colonized. The man had no time to joke. But Lily's not her name if you don't shut up.
“It looks like Mas forgot to bring a smile. I haven't seen that smile in a long time.” Lily smiled sweetly by looking at the man, like teaching him how to smile. Hoping that his crisp joking might lure Dion to a smile, or a warmer reaction for example. Nil, not a smile. That sharp gaze instead turned into a preying gaze. Lily laughed crisply even though her joke didn't work.
Didn't work it out. If from the first it is stiff to be flanked will also remain stiff.
“Mas...”.
“Shut up! You don't bother me with that way of your village, the cynical”.
“I'm serious, Mas. Smiling and laughing can make us young and have a long life you know,” added Lily, do not forget to include a funny face mimic made to look cute. It was better for him to invite Dion's anger than to just sit and be quiet which would drive him crazy from boredom.
Dion braked until Lily bounced forward. Thankfully, there was a seat belt.
“Mas! Do you want to make me die from a hanger,” he said protesting while stroking his thumping chest.
“People like you will find it hard to die. In hell you will be rejected because your mouth is always blabbering it.”
“Haha. It turns out Mas can joke too, yes.”
Joking around?
“You should know, the doctor's wife is the one who likes to smile and laugh the most. He is also very young. So smiling or laughing is not a guarantee to get a long life,” Dion chirped at length.
A moment Lily gasped, “Really? Then the hypothesis is true or false?”
“That's just the presumption of most people, you're one of them.”
**
“Mas.”
“What else?” As always, annoyed.
“I want to say something.” Lily's serious. Dion could capture that seriousness. “I want to college.” Lily looked at her husband's face. Do not want to miss what the face water will look like. And what was shown was ordinary, flat.
Since Dion was silent, Lily started to frown. “Mas, I'm serious. I want to go to college.”
“Then?”
“Kok ago. Last time Mas said I have permission first I want to go where and do what.”
The car entered an elite residential area. There was a yellow flag in the middle of the road. A complex security guard approached. Dion told me they wanted to be treated. Once given permission, Dion re-applied his car.
“We've arrived, yes, Mas?”
“Not yet, any minute.”
“How, Mas, with my request earlier?”
“Let's talk at home. Get ready, we're almost there.”
Dion parked the car where it was provided. There's a lot of cars lined up there. Dion takes Lily to the funeral home, dear to the state of loneliness.
“Bu, sorry. Why quiet, huh?” dion asked a middle-aged mother who happened to be in the funeral home.
“His body has been taken to the cemetery, Mas. Soon her family will be back.”
“Oh, so. Thank you yes, Ms.”
Dion invites Lily to wait on the porch.
