Lily
Seeing papi so intimate with that little boy made me jealous. Yes, if only God had allowed my son to be born into this world, he would have laughed and whined in the lap of the laps like I witnessed this. I can only smile bitterly in light of the reality that God has outlined.
“Emm, Papi how are you?” ask me politely. He approached. The eyes that have now been framed with glasses look sparkling despite the many wrinkles there. I pulled out the hair blocking the view to ward off my nervousness. Only one family member I met, but it makes me nervous not a bitch. I cleared my throat and wanted to convey my purpose in coming here.
“Lily..., son, you came?” Papi seemed enthusiastic about stopping my desire to speak again. “You've arrived, Son?” His palms touched both of my shoulders. There was nothing I could do but smile sincerely because I felt like my arrival had been long awaited. I quickly cursed my deepest heart because he could have called for me to be expected in this house.
My nervousness grew as Edu came. He also seemed surprised to see me here. But then smile. I was getting awkward despite being greeted with a friendly.
“Papi, emmm, Lily came here to pick up things,” I said without any desire to mince words about anything else. Because if I stay here longer, other family members will come over which will make me uncomfortable or maybe hurt.
“Nak, let's go in first,” invite him while touching my head with love. My heart's shaking. If only I were a part of this family, I had hugged him and cheered his longing. I really miss him a lot. “Mami must be so happy that you came. We miss you so much, son,”, he said again that makes me more dilemma. Did they really miss me?
Wanting to refuse, but the sad eyes and warm hands make me drift because I feel loved. I gulped and reluctantly stepped up.
“Grandfather, let's play again.”
The little boy's whining stopped the new two-step footsteps. The boy made me realize that I don't have any rights here anymore.
“Iya, later we play again, ‘ya.”
The boy kept whining at Papi's hand. Looking at me doesn't like it because it might have disrupted his playing time. Or maybe it was because he felt his grandfather had been taken by me. “Lily wait here only, Pi.” I'm self-conscious about my current position. Grasping each other's hands to strengthen the heart that slowly began to throb pain.
“Master, Master, Mistress calls you.” A servant came in a hurry while Papi was still trying to persuade the little boy.
“Mami is awake?” The waiter nodded. “Not a new mom taking medicine and just fell asleep?”muttered papi which I can still hear. He panicked. “What did mom say that her head hurt again?”
Here I can conclude that my mother is in a bad condition.
“No, Sir. Madam just wants to talk to Mr.”
Then he put his foot up. Just one step later turned around and said, “Lily, let's go meet mami! Mami will be happy because you're home.”
Going home? I'm really confused. I came here to get my stuff.
“Edu, you accompany Andra to play first,” his word even though the little boy I just knew his name Andra continues to whine want to be with papi. My heart asked me for the whereabouts of her parents. I looked around, but there was no sign of Mas Dion.
I immediately followed the hurried movement of the papi up the stairs. Hearing my mother take medicine, the call of my soul was moved. Maybe because they are used to immediately taking action to hear there are sick people. No longer worrying about my heart being broken when I meet Mas Dion and his wife.
“Mami why are you awake?“ Papi's question I heard as I was about to arrive at the room. “Mami should take plenty of rest. Remember doctor's message.”
“Pi, Mami can't keep this up.” My voice sounded weak but serious. I'm already standing on the door leaf. Mami's body is blocked by papi. It makes me unable to see clearly. “Mami should meet with him. Mami who has made the relationship of our son and daughter-in-law messy. Mami has to explain it to Lily, Pi.”
“Mi–”
“Pi, Mami doesn't want to hear any more bans. It was enough all this time that Mami was silent and obeyed the wishes of Dion and Papi. Lily's gone, Dion's gone too. It's all because of Mami's fault, Pi.” Mom suddenly sobbed.
I was confused to digest my mother's words. Did Mas Dion leave the house?
“Mami where to go?” Apparently mami shuffled to get out of bed. I don't realize where I am here yet.
“Ingin to meet Lily.” Mommy's already on the floor. I could see her body being worn and not being cared for. It was different when I lived here. Her skin was glowing and always displayed a happy smile. “If Papi does not want to accompany Mami, Mami can go alone.”
“Lily is already here, Mi.” Papi looked and pointed at me. “He's home.”
Mami was stunned when her bead caught my figure, so did I. “Pi, that's real Lily?” Mom made sure. Papi nodded and smiled.
“Li-Lily.”
Like a magnet pulling iron, we walked toward each other. Mami's eyes have dewy, as well as my bead. Until we finally embraced. Isakan mami sounded, even with my cry that was no less strong. Our embrace is getting tighter. The kisses landed on my cheeks and my head. Makes me feel loved. Not knowing how long we hugged each other, until mom finally let go of her hug.
“Lily. My daughter-in-law dear.” Mom briefly summarized my face and looked at me with her eyes. I'm choked. Why did he call me that call? Hugged me again tightly. “Mami misses you so much,”. I can feel the sincerity of every word that Mami says. All the words he said made my tears grow even more so.
After managing to control myself, I brought my mother to sit down. It was obvious that his physique was weak.
“Ma–mi why can be as–like this?” I can finally say even though I sound stuck. “Mami sa–kit what?”
Mom smiled. A beautiful smile even though there were still tears on her cheeks. “Mami is no longer sick, son, because you have come.” Mami hasn't taken her eyes off my face. Even with hands that always touch my head and cheeks with affection. “You are the medicine for Mami.”
I have a lot of questions I want to ask.
“Nak, you are now a doctor?” The sound of my mom woke me up from the raging daydream. He realized the white coat I was wearing.
“Numbered, Mi. Soon after the competency exam.”
“Nak.” Mami grasped both of my hands and both of her eyeballs looked at me wistfully a moment later. “Impard Mami. All that has happened is because of Mami's mistake,” regretted mami with tears that returned to pool. “If only Mami hadn't forced Dion to get married, you wouldn't have been hurt by seeing the wedding.” Papi rubbed my mother's back so that she could calm down, but her crying became more and more.
“Nothing, Mi. It's all been happening. Lily is also sincere,” I said trying to look airy. But not with tears that also decompose.
“Mami is selfish. Not thinking about your feelings, let alone your feelings.” Momentary pause. “It should be in your condition as it used to be, Mami gave Dion the spirit to continue to remain beside you. Not even telling her to get married.” My mother's weak body hugged me again and cried regretfully. “If only Mami had not been selfish, you would not have felt alone and far away from your husband, Dion.”
“Su–suami?” I pulled my head off my mother's shoulder to see the look on her face. That just now, what did your mom say just now?
“Iya, Dion, your husband.”
