Violetta said it would take 12 hours to make the flight to Japan, and they decided to take the afternoon schedule, so the team could get to dawn in Japan. Their departure was at three in the afternoon, and Tracy had been sitting in the airport cafe since one o'clock. As usual the laptop was open and the earphone was connected to his phone that was asleep next to the laptop.
“Iya, so so so the story. Hope you're not too lonely I'm going to Japan.” Trace giggled to herself hearing her sentence. On the other hand, Steve answered.
“Sunday Trace. Wow, it'll feel like a year, I'm sure.”
Trace rolled her eyeballs.
“Gombal, Steve. Where have you read my novel? Bipolar, I mean.” Trace stopped typing and closed her laptop. Violetta should be at the airport by now.
“It's done, of course. I kept getting upset with the title you chose, your storyline was really described as bipolar. There will be no other title that could be more suitable.”
“Oh, previously I had thought of going to fix Magnet Poles. But somehow the word ‘kutub-kutub’ that makes me creep. Nasty.” Trace smiled at Steve's booming laughter, and he let out a small laugh. Trace sent a short message to Violetta, and within seconds the girl instantly replied to her. He was near their departure gate. Trace tidied up her laptop and stuffed it into her sizable backpack. Hopefully they'll still let him carry the bag into the cabin.
“I'm grateful you didn't name the book the Magnet Poles. I'll have goosebumps reading it too.”
Tracy did not answer. His focus was busy tidying up his belongings and trying to stand up from the cramped sofa chair of the cafe and pull his suitcase closer towards him.
“You want to boarding?”
Trace again realized that he was calling someone and he quickly replied.
“Oh, yes, I'm sorry Steve, the items I brought were as much as I was about to move house, and Violetta had already arrived near the departure gate. I think I should hang up now.”
Trace stopped moving when she got out of the couch and pulled the handle of her suitcase out, and
waiting for Steve to reply from across the phone.
“Alright then. Be careful on the road. Don't forget to have fun in Japan and send me the photos.”
“Ok, I won't forget, I promise. Chat me and tell me what you want me to bring from Japan, huh?”
Steve laughed a little.
“Just relax, I'll see ya. Call me if you're bored.”
Trace smiled, and gave a small nod to herself.
“Good. Bye.”
After Steve answered his farewell, Trace hung up the phone and quickly walked towards the gate
where Violetta's been waiting.
“Oh, I hope you can forgive this stubborn me. I really did not expect that I would give you this very sudden job. I hope I'm not too much trouble.” Violetta said as she let go of her embrace, and held Trace's arm anxiously. Trace chuckled and patted those hands.
“Don't worry, Vi, this is a great opportunity for me. I should thank you very much because you wanted to give me this opportunity. Hopefully my performance will be as you wish.” Trace put on the face of his business. He was clearly aware, the team behind Violetta was not a random person.
Violetta followed Tracy's line of sight and instantly realized, “Ah, yes, this is my assistant, Reth, my photographer, Juan, and my stylist, Candice. Everyone, this is Tracy, my best friend.”
Trace greets them one-on-one. Doing so, Tracy realizes how far Violetta has evolved
since Jesca. One or two more steps, this girl will probably be able to get ahead of Jesca. Suddenly the spirit inside Tracy burned and he felt like pushing himself further. He does not want to be left behind by his best friend.
As soon as they got in and sat on the plane, Tracy sank in the Titanic movie, and fell asleep not long after the film was over. When he opened his eyes, they had already arrived in Kyoto. The still-dark view of Japan from above makes it like a colorful sea of stars, making Tracy grateful to the death she agreed to take this job.
They got out of the airport by taxi and headed to their hotel in the middle of the city. Violetta hands Trace the hotel key.
“Hey, I'm sorry, but you slept alone in the hotel. I'm going to room with Candice because I'm going to be ready
earlier than all teams. Besides, I think it would be easier and more convenient for you if you are alone in the room, because my schedule will be very crowded.”
Trace smiled and took the key of her room from Violetta's hand.
“Just relax Vi, you're like you don't know me.” Violetta simply replied to him with a smile, and again shared the key to her other team. Tracy realizes, at this point—and maybe until her job in Japan ends—Violetta is not her best friend, but her work partner. He also has to start thinking like that.
“Alright, after this you can take a shower and clean up. At 6 am we have to leave for Nishijin Textile Center. The event will start at 10 to 12, then continue with lunch at the hotel. Only the owner of Nishijin and his spokespersons will come, as well as some investors who are present this afternoon. At 2 o'clock new reporters are allowed in, and a press conference will be held on the second floor, in the VIP meeting room. The new conference will start at 3 o'clock, opening with the kimono exhibition once again, just one turn around about five, six models with our best kimono-kimono. So after the short show, there will be photo sessions for about fifteen minutes.” Violeta reached into her bag and pulled out her phone.
“I'll send the rundown to everyone. There are my friends who will be the role models later, so you do not need to worry.” He struggled with his phone for a while, before all Naka's teams pulled out their phones and made sure they got the rundown that Violetta had sent.
“Alright, please read and learn, before we walk into each room and clean up, if any questions please ask now, please, cause you guys won't have much of a chance to talk to me. My friends all speak Japanese, so I don't think it's necessary to trouble them, they won't understand too much.” Violetta sighed then lifted her suitcase bag.
“Come, we go up.” Violetta turned towards the elevator and Trace quickly caught up with Violetta.
“Vi, can I interview you for a while before we leave? Or do you think it would be better if I interviewed you after the press? I need information about this show of yours to start the article.”
Violetta pressed the elevator button, then faced Tracy.
“Hm... better now so you don't have to chase after me after the show. Just take a shower and get changed, and then you just knock on my room. My room is right next to yours.”
The elevator opened and Tracy stepped in while glancing at her watch.
Half-time in the morning Kyoto time. Tracy's stomach also began to rumble.
