Father to My Daughter

Father to My Daughter
visiting Andi.

The festive event has ended, the invited guests have returned to their respective homes. Same with Jennie's family or Excel, just a few minutes ago they say goodbye.

Now only the workers who are in charge of cleaning up the remnants of the event. There are those who release decorations, some are tidying up the table of the former dishes there.

Jennie and Excel were in one of the rooms reserved for the two of them.

She had just finished taking off all her wedding attributes. And now enjoying the twilight, sitting on the edge of the bed facing a glass wall.

Before long the toilet door opened, Excel stared at Jennie who was sitting dreamily. His hand held the phone still on the screen.

He approached and sat down next to the woman who was already his legal wife after the meeting this morning.

"The sky is cloudy like that?" excel said by hand touching some of Jennie's hair, then pinned it to her ear.

"It's not overcast, but it's dusk, '" Jennie replied without looking.

"Is that so? What I mean is not the sky outside, but the sky in front of me. Though the sun next to it seems bright, but this cloud will suddenly lower the water."

Jennie turned her head, staring at Excel. The man touched the wife's cheek with his right hand without smiling, pulling with anxiety, while his left hand was chin-backed.

"You should be happy, not like this" he said.

"I'm happy."

"Then, that?" Excel pointed at Jennie's teary eyes. "You can't lie to me."

Jennie smile. Yep.... Excel is right, He will not be able to hide the expression of his sad face in front of the husband and then choose to turn his face away. Where Excel immediately returns that gaze again.

"I told you, I wouldn't be selfish. You can meet him."

"Mas, I'm not thinking about meeting him."

"But he needs encouragement. Because I heard? He refused his third chemotherapy today."

Jennie lowered her head, which was what made her brain filled with worry. Because of what his mother Andi said earlier, about the condition of his son who was getting dropped. He even had difficulty swallowing food, making him always refuse to consume anything.

"Prepare, we'll come to the hospital right now." He moved, but for a moment his hand was held by Jennie.

"Mas Excel, you said we're flying to Singapore tonight, right?"

"I've rearranged the schedule, we're leaving next week. Didn't I promise that guy that we'd come?"

Jennie stared with a bad feeling. "you postponed our honeymoon? Are you okay yourself?"

Excel breathes, then sits down. "How else, I didn't want to take you on a honeymoon, while Nara's real father was not doing well, so I was going to beat my ego for him."

"Excel magazine," Jennie muttered flattered. "Thank you husband. You really gave up because of this, I had a chance to think? You're a very childish and selfish man."

"You think I'm like that?"

"I'm sorry, you always ask me to obey your wishes."

Excel is still silent, expressionless.

"Darling, you're not angry, are you, when I talk like that?"

The deg...!

"What do you call me?" Excel spirit suddenly rises.

"Emmm... The darling? Isn't it okay I called that?"

Excel gave a smile, holding his lips back. He also breathed after.

"Jen? You don't make me change my mind, and choose to delay going to the hospital because of your words, huh?"

Jennie smiled, with a spoiled look. "What?"

"Aaarrhh your expression...? well you go fishing, yeah, I'll taste a little bit before you go to the hospital." Excel leaned over his body while unbuttoning his own shirt, approaching the wife who even chuckled to hold her body.

"Just like. later." He got up from the edge of the bed and walked to his bag. "We're going to the hospital. You've allowed it."

The two decided to go to the hospital first. Meet Andi there.

***

In a VIP room...

Andi sat down on her bed. His hand held a pack of cigarettes that he only looked at. Just a few minutes ago Nara waved her hand, saying goodbye to go home. Now loneliness is back in control of her soul, not to mention the shadow of Jennie's face wearing bridal makeup earlier when making a video call with Nara.

A drop of water fell on the cigarette pack. His hands are getting stronger. His broad shoulders began to shake.

For a moment, the unfairness in his life again made him desperate. He will not only lose his life, but his love as well.

The man opened his pack of cigarettes, grabbed a stick and ignited it with fire.

Ckla... The door in her ward opened, the mother entered with slightly widened eyes. He ran to Andi, then snatched the cigarette in his hand.

"Hey... What are you doing?"

"Don't forbid me to smoke, Mom. I don't care about my illness anymore, but it doesn't have any effect. I'm still gonna die."

"You don't like this, Andi," is still trying to hold the child. Andi started another cigarette. "Give me that cigarette, don't smoke anymore."

"Don't stop me, Mom. And please give me a beer too, now...!!!"

"And stop, don't be like this."

"I'm just a useless undead!!!" Chuckling, along with her crying.

The mother hugged him tightly. While crying, no longer know how to calm Andi.

"I beg you, calm down. And don't talk about the no-no."

Andi sobbed in her mother's arms. "I still want to live, I don't want to die, Mom. I haven't made Nara happy."

"You'll be healed, son. Trust me."

"No... The doctor has given up. I heard that, so did I. So we better go home, free here. Better my medication money for mom alone. And then spend the rest of my life at home. That'd be better."

"Have...! Don't say anything."

"Mother?" Andi touched her mother's face, with her weak hands. "remain healthy, ma'am, though there was no me, after."

"What are you saying anyway? I said stop it!!! don't talk anymore."

"Mother...?" andi's speech stopped, when she saw Jennie standing at the door of the ward. The man then turned his face away, as he also saw Excel behind him.

Jennie's tears were dripping, she herself was confused, her legs were stiff. Where Andi's mother immediately wiped away her tears, she smiled as she approached Jennie.

"Come in, son" he said, to the girl who was still staring at Andi. The man now sleeps on his side, turning his back.

"Son?" Call the middle-aged woman again, making Jennie gasp with tears falling back. Jennie smiled, then nodded at him once.

Afterwards he walked slowly towards Andi's bed, but only a few steps Jennie looked back.

At her sight the husband was still silent, not stepping in.

"Mas, let's go in" Jennie asked.

Excel smiled, "I have something left. I'll pick it up, then come back in a few minutes" said Excel, who immediately twisted his body.

Jennie was stunned to look at the tall body that had started to disappear from her sight.

Andi's mother touched Jennie's shoulder.

"Mom's out for a minute, to buy something ya."

"Anu..." Jennie hesitated, with her hands raised to hold back Andi's mother. But the middle-aged woman had already stepped out her legs, coming out. He sighed softly, then looked towards Andi.
