Doing Strategy

Alex and Sophia were pushed to the point that they got into the lush trees and hid among the bushes. Less precise if it was said to be desperate, the two of them did not receive any injuries, had a lot of stamina, and could still fight. Rather than calling them desperate, the two of them simply retreated to think of a strategy in facing this Wolf Monster.

Unmitigated, the Wolf Monster had a significant increase in the aspects of speed, strength, endurance, agility, and regeneration. Her physical abilities in speed, strength, endurance, agility were not much in question as Sophia's blood element could slow her down even if it was only a few seconds. The most troublesome of all those aspects, was his regeneration ability which made it take him one powerful attack that could inflict fatal injuries on him. A small scratch attack would be useless against this creature.

"She should still smell my blood around her, and she's possessed by her wild instincts. He shouldn't be too good at picking prey and will automatically pick me right away. It doesn't matter if I get bitten and torn to shreds, I'm sure I can recover my body again. You just focus on making one powerful attack that can subvert it" Sophia suggested through a whisper.

"Um, I get it." Alex nodded. "I know I'm not a magician and it's not my expertise to make powerful magic attacks. But at least I can make an explosion within a radius of a few dozen meters. You beware of the explosion I'll create later."

"Who do you think I am?"

Without lingering any longer, the two of them came out of their hiding. Sophia went towards the wolf, while Alex went the other way, away from the wolf and looking for the right place to hide in giving a surprise attack once attacked. The two of them were in a serious atmosphere responding to this Wolf Monster attack.

Some time Sophia had run towards the wolf before, but she had not yet crossed paths with him. This made him mutter, "Wait, where is that Wolf? Shouldn't he be on this path and following us? Did he go the other way because our hideout was too good?"

Elsewhere, Theresa and Yovanca were near a bonfire. There's not much they do. They only noticed the flame of the campfire and kept it burning by throwing some wood into it. The rest, the atmosphere there was very complicated and there was no important work that they had to finish immediately.

Fortunately, tonight the wind did not blow. The conversation seemed to glow and flash dead above the sky with the clouds that had gone aside. Unfortunately, starlight is not too bright to create light that produces shadows. This makes Noctis not free in its attack capabilities.

"I want to release this little wolf, I have no strong interest in it. But aren't wolves a pack animal? I feel sorry for having to let go of it without the herd. It's a tough decision to make…." Theresa stared heavily while stroking gently at the wolf's fur.

Yovanca smiled at Theresa before saying, "It doesn't matter, you just have to do what you want to do. Instead of doing something by force, it doesn't matter if we do what is in our hearts, right? Of course, in this world there are rules that make you not to do whatever you want. But if it doesn't break the rules or make a mess, you can do what you want."

Theresa looked at Yovanca's eyes with a clear heart, and said, "Even if you say it like that, I find it hard to choose. I prefer to let go of this wolf in the wild and let it live freely like most animals, but I also feel sorry if he gets attacked by other animals. Death will surely approach every living thing, but that doesn't mean we have to hasten death itself."

"Hmm. a very difficult choice. At least you're bis—." Yovanca stood up spontaneously in surprise. He felt something through his gut feeling.

"What's up, Aunt Yovanca? Why are you suddenly standing like that?" Theresa stood up while holding a small wolf.

*Srak!* *Shelf!* *swoosh!*

The Wolf Monster pierced through the branches of trees that blocked his path, then he headed straight for Theresa and Yovanca. His movements were indeed fast and could destroy the herbs in his path as long as he moved. Some branches of the tree until made slanted by his movement. Just from his movements this was already lethal enough for humans.

*glash!* *slash!* *slash!*

Yovanca fused her index and middle fingers on her right hand, then she slashed them several times on the body of the Wolf Monster. Simultaneously several blades of wind formed and cut the Wolf's body.

But even so, the Wolf Monster continued walking towards the two of them with a body that had some scratches from the wind blade slash. Wounds that are very small and only appear on the surface of the skin, besides that the wound immediately recovered in just a fraction of a second using its regeneration ability.

"Let's…!" Theresa jumped to the side and was followed by Yovanca.

*Shelf!*

Too bad, behind them was the horse carriage they used to travel. As the two dodged while the Wolf Monster did not stop, this creature crashed into the carriage and made it roll around. Some parts of the carriage were instantly crushed into large pieces of wood, and this made the horse carriage unusable on this trip. They need to fix it before proceeding on a journey with repairs that are not at all easy.

"The trains! It's not ours! What if Noctis-sensei gets angry when he sees his train smashing?" Theresa could not help but scream.

He had never seen Noctis angry to date, but he could guess if something bad would happen if it happened. Being responsible for using money was impossible because he himself did not know the price of the carriage. Fixing it was also impossible for him, at least for the time being since he was not someone who was an expert in that field. He could only shout in fear when he saw the carriage being destroyed.

"There's no need to think about that train for now, Theresa." Yovanca's eyes narrowed and stared at the landing spot of the Wolf Monster. "This wolf, at least he's stronger than you and most people than ordinary soldiers. You better focus on him and be careful of his attacks."

The Little Wolf in Theresa's hand sling could feel the power of the Wolf Monster before her through her animal instincts. He was made to tremble when he felt the pressing feeling of the Wolf Monster. Yet in another it was, he also felt sad when his eyes were fixed with the eyes of the Wolf Monster.

"Very dangerous. I did not expect that there was such a powerful monster within this forest. It's only natural that the ecosystem in this forest becomes destroyed because of it" Theresa murmured.
