Eclipse - Special Operations in Another World

Eclipse - Special Operations in Another World
Episode 11

"We're under attack!"

Shouted a knight who was in the front group. I saw dozens of arrows hurtling from the front right side towards us. The train at the front stopped suddenly. Luckily Muse managed to stop the horse's pace and avoid a collision.

As quickly as possible I grabbed the rifle and jumped off the carriage while ducking. An arrow almost pierced my head. Some unlucky knights screamed after the arrows stuck in their bodies.

"Everyone, out! Take cover behind the train!" Strangle me at the knight in the carriage. Although they were shocked by the impromptu attack, they swiftly got out of the carriage and took shelter behind the carriage.

"Protect the Princess!"

I saw behind the trees a shadow of a human. One of them is seen aiming an arrow at Blade who opens the door for Princess Tiara.

Before he shot, I aimed at his head and pulled the trigger 2 times. A pair of bullets shot out and hit the guy's head.

"Contact: left side!"

Muse rained down on every tree trunk where he saw people's shadows. Blade and Jeanne lead Princess Tiara out.

2 other attackers who arrived - arrived on the train the Princess jumped simultaneously. With their sharp daggers unsheathed, they charged towards the Princess.

Jeanne fends off one of the attackers while Blade tackles the other enemy to the ground. The assailant tried to fight back by pushing Blade, however, the SAS Captain held his body and shot him in the head repeatedly with a gun until blood and parts of the brain splattered everywhere.

"Mr Princess, please step back!" Jeanne Shouts to the Princess. The enemy swung his sword at Jeanne, trying to get rid of her so that she could grab what I felt was the target: Princess Tiara.

I moved my left hand to the rear grip of the rifle while the right hand grasped the front grip. With great precision, I aimed at the head of the enemy Jeanne faced with her left eye. In one breath, I pulled the trigger. My shoulder felt a pop before a bullet hit the attacker's head in an instant.

After making sure he was dead, I turned towards the trees on the left side. Muse pulled the pin of the grenade and threw it towards the trees shouting, "Frag out!"

The grenade explosion was accompanied by fragmentation shards and shouts of the attackers.

I patted Muse on the back and told him in sign language that I would charge to the right side while he went to the left side. Muse nodded and patted back my back before moving forward in unison.

I walked through the bushes in the treetops, carefully watching the surroundings. I saw some people in black wearing hoods staggered by the explosion of a grenade. Some were down and moaning in pain from being exposed to fragmentation fragments.

I mercilessly shot them all in human form, including those sprawled on the ground. Bullets lodged in their bodies easily even though each change of target my movements slowed down due to the weight of this knight's armor. After finishing them off, I hid behind a tree, watching the situation get to the top of the tree.

There I saw some of them spread out bows, pointing arrows right at me.

Luckily Muse was able to shoot the archers first, making them fall from the tree in a state of injured body exposed to hot lead. Some of them are still alive, but we will let them go, and they will die.

"Clear!"

After making sure they were all killed, I replaced my rifle magazine with a new magazine stored in the bag in the belt before patting Muse on the back and returning to the convoy, where I saw the knights fighting with dozens of unknown people wearing black robes just like the ones we shot.

Many of the knights had trouble dealing with the agility of the attackers. Some of them could even knock down 3 knights at once. From behind the tree, I pulled out a flashbang and pulled a pin.

"Flashbang!" Shouted me before throwing the stun grenade towards the convoy.

Luckily before the trip I had already told every bodyguard and waiter who was in the convoy to close their eyes and ears if any of us were to shout 'Flashbang'.

When the flashbang exploded, all the knights had already closed their eyes and ears, while the ignorant enemies just stared at us before it was too late.

"Aarrgghhhh!"

The deafening noise and blinding light of the eyes made them scream in pain.

Immediately, Muse and I moved forward.

"Dead off!"

Muse's voice to me. Simultaneously shoot the entire enemy who was still in a daze. Seeing this opportunity, the knights finished off the enemies closest to them. Blade hiding behind the carriage shot the remaining attackers. Counted 11 people have been disabled.

"Safe!"

Blade walked towards me while refilling his weapon with a new magazine. "Muse, help the healing team. Wand, use your sniper rifle and take out the shooter in front!"

"Good!"

While I was returning to the carriage to retrieve my Remington Rifle, Muse ran behind the horse carriage and helped the healing squad to help the wounded knight.

"It's nasty! Their weapons are poisonous!" Sahut one of the healers after checking the state of one of the knights. Ingrid Pare, an Elf is one of the most powerful healers who mastered pharmaceutical alchemy and healing magic. While tying up his long blonde hair and rolling up his shirt sleeves, he turned his head towards Muse. "Muse, do you have an antidote?"

"Have!"

Muse took out a small bottle of purple-colored herbs from the front pouch and uncapped the bottle with his mouth, while his right hand was busy reaching into the pouch. A syringe that is still sterile is he managed to reach.

Muse took the antidote with a syringe, calculating the necessary dose. It feels like the first aid treatment here is more advanced than on Earth.

He approached one of the knights leaning on the carriage. The man coughed - coughing out blood that had blackened, a sign that the poison had spread.

"Son of a bitch," Muse grumbled in annoyance. He patted Ingrid on the back. "Ingrid! Use a spare syringe in my back pocket. The poison spreads quickly, it won't be possible if the potion is only minimized."

"I understand!" Answer Ingrid. The healer took an injection, some spare needles, and a cotton swab filled with alcohol in Muse's pouch before approaching the wounded knight.

"Hold on, man" said Muse calmly. He rolled up the sleeve of the knight's shirt and cleaned his arm with alcohol before injecting the antidote.

"Ugghhh," the knight groaned in pain while being injected.

Meanwhile, I opened the coachman's seat, where it was hidden where Muse and I kept the M72E10 rocket launcher tube and the M24A3 sniper rifle. In a hurry, I grabbed the sniper rifle and put the serbook rifle into the place before closing it.

"Wand, hurry!" Blade's command was taking cover, crouching on the left side of Princess Tiara's carriage.

I suddenly heard the sound of footsteps on the roof of the carriage next to me, making me step back avoiding the slash of a sword. After failing to slash at me, the killer tried to lash but his steps came to a halt after I shot him in the stomach with a sniper. He fell to the ground while holding his wounded stomach.

The cock of the rifle I pulled and pushed before I pointed the still-hot muzzle at the killer's head and pulled the trigger a second time. A large hole was formed in his skull and his brain contents poured out.

On the other hand, I saw Commander Montez beating some enemies mercilessly. He shouted like a wounded bull, slashing wildly at all the enemies around him. Not only with a sword, he sometimes punched, kicked, even hit the enemy's head with sword algae as if swinging a large hammer. The enemy that should have surrounded him instead looked daunted. Blood splattered patches clung onto his armor and silver sword. I couldn't see his face yet I knew, the man was grinning ferociously.

"Haha! Hyaaah! Muere, tempest!" He shouted before returning to attack the enemy who began to fear.

I was made to not believe. A knight who looks very shining like a knight in a fairy tale fights like a possessed person. He does not use any technique at all, but all attacks he can field and he can finish off far more enemies without help. The commander of the Order of the Conferred Knights was indeed a great, and sinister person.

I didn't need to help him and tried to focus on my mission. I ran towards Blade who was waiting in the front carriage. He fired dozens of hot lead into the dense trees on the right side.

Using Blade's shot as covering fire, I dashed towards the pile of horse corpses and lay on top of my stomach behind the corpses. The fishy smell of blood did not bother me at all. I saw one of the surviving border guards leaning against a dead horse beside me holding its belly with an arrow. He pointed towards the direction where Blade had shot earlier.

"There are more than 10 archers....Uggh...."

I nodded in understanding and threw a bandage at him. "Use this to suppress your wounds, man."

I glanced towards Blade who told me from afar the information I needed.

Distance, 150 meters. Wind gusts, 30 kilometers per hour to the southeast.

I lifted my thumb and started arranging the binoculars. For a sniper like me shooting at a target with such a distance is just an easy matter. It's as easy as turning the palm. But the strong winds in the mountains gave me a little challenge.

I set the wind distance and direction in the telescope before aiming for the first target. He hides behind a tree. Slowly his head looked out. At that moment, I took a breath and squeezed the trigger. A loud push from the rifle butt hit my shoulder. In a matter of less than a second, the bullet pierced through the person's head.

Immediately, I cocked my rifle and aimed at another target. He hid in a tree, tried to shoot me before I put the next bullet in his left chest, causing him to fall from the tree. I could see one person pulling him into hiding, but that person was hard to shoot so I moved the shot to another enemy and took a swing to squeeze the trigger.

It kept repeating until 7 bullet casings measuring 14.93 x 69.20 mm were scattered on the ground. All the bullets coming from my rifle hit the head or body of the target without anyone missing. So, the number of people I killed with sniper rifles became eighty. I'm not a psychopath who likes to count the number of people I took his life from.

Blade raised his thumb towards me.

I just nodded without saying anything while putting the safety back on the rifle.

The SAS operator got up and walked towards Muse who was helping Ingrid treat the wounded knight. "Muse, report the situation!" The man's orders.

Seeing that the work seemed to be done, I folded the rifle's bipod, roused my body from the ground, and hung the rope on the sniper rifle on my shoulder. A moment before I walked after Blade, I saw something.

In front of the road, I saw someone walking towards us. He drew out his silver shining sword and lunged right at me. I raised my rifle, aimed at it with a telescope, then....

Lho? That fellow....

Didn't he....

The boy I had to kill at the time. The boy whose father and brother I shot dead, and then I killed him to protect my partner from being stabbed.

Why...? My fingers.can't pull the trigger....

I looked back at the boy. His eyes looked at me with vengeance....

"You killed them! ACCEPT THE CONSEQUENCES!!!"

The angry scream echoed, mixed with the same scream with a different voice....

The screams of Jeanne, Muse, and the others seemed to be blocked out of the ears. I was just standing there waiting for death....

I wonder, how it feels to be slashed by a magic attack....

Suddenly, a Finian knight emerged from the bushes and crashed into the person from the side. The two of them hit a horse carriage and made the carriage disintegrate as a result of which energy they used.

I'm back to waking up....

The first thing I heard was Jeanne's screech.

"Wand!"

Both my comrades and the other knights ran up to me.

Blade suddenly slapped me so hard, that I staggered. He held onto my forehead, forcing me to stare towards his index finger, middle finger, and raised ring finger. "How many fingers, lieutenant?"

"Three fingers, sir...." Answer me with a staggered tone.

"Wand, are you okay? Your eyes were seen...." Ask Jeanne. He looked me in the eye sharply. I took my eyes off her gaze.

"I'm fine. Maybe I'm exhausted...." Sahutku with a calm tone that I made - made, but he still insisted.

"But you-"

I just held her shoulder with a smile. I walked away from him, approaching the wrecked train. Jeanne tried to confirm my answer again, but Muse stopped her.

Thank you, man....

After the dust had shrunk, I saw one of Jeanne's subordinates, Leon the lion-man, lying next to the white-shirt killer on top of the rest of the carriage. Ingrid approached the knight, helping him sit down.

"Leon! You okay?"

"It's okay, Ingrid....Such a thing is less capable of killing me...."

He chuckled while glancing at the unconscious assailant next to me. The man looked very young, just a 16-17 year old boy. He wore a kind of long white shirt and blue trousers along with leather boots. Her hair was black and random - scrambling.

Ingrid helps Leon stand up. He looks still staggering and still needs the help of the Elf to walk. He stared at the man for the last time before being shoved into another horse carriage. "Most importantly this guy could be arrested."

I just stared at the lion man, then glanced at the murderous boy. The boy slowly regained consciousness and groaned in pain. I walked over, but Blade's arm was blocking.

"Wand, you rest" said the Captain.

"Captain, I-I"

He suddenly held my collar, looking at me coldly. "Take a fucking rest," Snap Blade in a low tone.

I just nodded slowly. Blade took off my collar and walked away. Muse followed her from the grasshopper. He patted my arm as it passed me while grinning. "Later to buy a beer."

While I was walking towards the carriage, Muse and Blade approached the mysterious boy. Maybe they wanted to interrogate him, but I was too tired to go.

I saw Xenous sitting on the coachman's seat of one of the trains. He slapped a bottle of drink at me. "Catch, Mu!"

I quickly caught the bottle. "Thank you, Xenous...." Answer me before drinking the bottle until it runs out. I sat next to Xenous. I pulled out the gun magazine and put it next to me.

"What happened to you, Wand?" Elisha asked, who was behind me. He holds both my shoulders. His voice sounded very anxious.

Jeanne sat to my right and asked me in a pushy tone. "Tell us! Maybe we can help!"

Apparently, he's been following me ever since. I stared at the two blue-colored eyeballs. Seen so holy that I was glued to him. I could only smile and avoid her gaze.

"Wa"

"Road!" Snapped Muse while pushing the boy into the middle of the forest. His hands were already tied with plastic handcuffs and his head was covered in burlap sacks.

Blade called me from afar, ordering me to come with them. "Alright, my break is over. I have to get back on duty, "I got up and walked after my two comrades, leaving the others behind.

I was finally free of them. I don't want anyone to know my past. I'm afraid they'll hate me, especially Jeanne....

Blade and I walked side by side following Muse who led our prisoners from behind.

"You're calm?" Blade asked with a bit of worry. I just answered with a nod.

We finally arrived in the middle of the forest where some knights were digging burrows and buried the bodies of assassins and knights who died with shovels. Several other knights picked up the bodies and dragged them near. We lost 9 knights. Of the 5 Alfheim border guards who came with us, 3 of them were killed including their chief. All 32 attackers, none of them were alive, except the boy we caught.

Roughly, Muse kicked the prisoner until he fell to the ground. Muse pulled his collar and dragged him to one of the trees and leaned him there. The knights there only stared at us for a moment before continuing to dig.

"In addition to Wand and Muse, leave this place!" Blade's command echoed in everyone's ears there.

The knights stopped their work and walked away from the place. I could hear some of them grumbling. It seems like they still don't believe in us or may be envious that we got the title of 'elected hero', but Commander Montez already told them to also follow Blade's orders. So they had no reason to refuse his orders.

This is also part of the interrogation. By remaining silent without speaking, the prisoner will begin to feel uncomfortable. Simple but useful. Moreover, this young man looked like an amateur assassin.

"What do you want from me?" Ask the young man. But no one answered him. "What do you want?!"

"Hey!" His screams bear fruit in vain. My two comrades kept digging without caring about it, as if it was just a passing wind. I just silently watched her while pretending to be indifferent. This silent-dwelling game I ended after I felt he was getting more and more unsettled.

"Hey..." With a calm and familiar tone I called out to him. "I want to ask you one thing."

The young man smiled cynically. "Heh, I won't give-"

I raised the volume of my voice.

"Listen to me first, okay? You are so different from your other friends. Can you tell me why I can think like that?"

My question, made the young man even more astonished. "You think like that, but why ask me?"

"I just want to know about you more closely," The first thing in the interrogation to remember is not the pain inflicted on the subject. If we can get some sympathy or push some proper buttons, we can get what we want without having to resort to violence.

"You asked me that question.after killing Lura and my friends with your cursed rifle?!" Followed with rage.

Lura. So that's the name of one of the enemies I killed. "Is that someone valuable to you?"

"He's...." I saw his eyes staring at the corpse of a blonde girl among the corpses of the archers I shot. "He was a childhood friend and my fiancee...."

Hearing her sob, I felt a little bit of pity. "If you don't attack us, maybe your fiance is still alive. Why are you after our daughter's life?"

"You're asking stupid questions again! Isn't it obvious?! If I don't kill that demon drop princess, this world will never be at peace and a great war will engulf the entire world like 400 years ago!"

"That's it..." I don't know who brainwashed this kid and choked him with propaganda, they've managed to make a great killer soldier. It's just, he's stupid. But at least I managed to get their motive.

"I and Lura have promised to get married after bringing peace to the world...." He looked down blankly while smiling bitterly. With teary eyes full of anger and sadness he glared at me. "But you! You killed him! I will not forgive you! I wish you would experience the same thing as me!"

That sentence sounded like a curse in my mind.

"I'm sorry, you're suffering like this because of me" My apologies are not made up. For some reason, I feel guilty about separating these two people. I know what I did was right but.... "I feel relieved if I can pay for everything I do..."

"Eh?"

I just smiled kindly at him and took a bottle of drink from the pouch on my waist. After drinking a few sips, I offered her.

"You thirsty?"

"No, thank you."

"Oh yeah, I don't know your name yet."

"Toby, Toby Bronzerock."

"Call me, Kohei."

I asked him a few things that were stale. Sometimes he refuses to answer. Even so, at least I might be able to gain her trust.

"It's been quite a talk" said Blade who was currently walking towards us. I saw him drag one of the killer's corpses and throw it in front of Toby. The Captain crouched down in front of him and glared right into his eyes. "Now tell me who told you to!"

"L-Dude...."

Seeing this young man staring at the body of the blond girl in shock. Her pretty face was now covered in blood and there was a hole where a bullet stuck in her forehead. Lying if I can stand quietly when I see the body of the person I killed right in front of me.

I tried to hold back all my emotions and used the opportunity to pretend to defend Toby.

"K-Captain...."

"Diem you, kentod!" Snapped Muse out loud to me. It was just a charade, but I was surprised to hear him scream like that.

"Shortly," Start Blade lightly. He whipped out his combat knife and twisted the sharp object. "I already know the man who told you to kill the princess. I just wanted to make sure. So answer all my questions honestly, or this bitch will feel the consequences!"

"You....!" The young man shouted furiously.

"Captain, this is not true!"

"I said shut up!" Muse hit my crotch, making me fall to the ground while holding it. It should be a charade, too, but my peler feels like it's about to break. I forgot Muse couldn't control the power when we sparring.

"Kohji!" Toby called out my fake name, surprised to see the enemy in front of him hurt his own partner.

"You're quiet too!" Muse continued the torture by kicking Toby many times until it caused the young man to cough up blood.

Blade walked back and forth in front of the black-haired boy while tapping his neck with a blunt part of his knife.

"Come, let me know. If not...."

The SAS captain then pulled Lura up through her hair. The man pointed his knife towards the chest of the girl's body.

"I'm gonna rip his chest out and throw his whole organs!"

"Don't!" A feeling of anger and sadness mixed on his face.

Blade re-releases Lura's body while Muse walks over. The Navy SEAL lieutenant smiled evilly at the boy.

"Mean quick tell! If not"

"Bad!"

Muse could not finish his sentence as the young man somehow managed to untie the plastic handcuffs and lunged towards Muse with his hands letting out purple flames.

"Revelation!"

I immediately tackled Tony to the ground before he could hurt Muse. By reflex I crush the horn and stab and then slash his neck. Blood gushed out from his wound and splashed into my face.

He died slowly with a surprised expression still on his face. The eyes without light that had already lost their lives stared right into my eyes.

I slowly started to get up, retreating without turning my eyes on the young man's corpse. The young man whose happy future I took away, and I took his life.

"Bloody Hell," Even Blade was shocked by this brutality.

The hoe I held slowly slipped out of my grasp Both my hands were filled with a blood red color. I'm sure whoever sees my face right now, they'll run away scared. The fishy smell of blood stung my nose. The side of me that I hated the most came out by itself unconsciously, and it made me really want to vomit.

"I...."

"Not what, bro," cried Muse as he stroked my back. The blond young man then stroked the back of my head while smiling cheerfully. "Thank you for helping me."

Realizing that I managed to protect my childhood friend made me feel better. But still....

Oh yeah, the intel....

"Intel we can get next time," Blade gave me a handkerchief to wipe the blood off my face. The red-haired man then walked towards the shovel and picked it up. "Come, even if they're enemies, we should give them a proper funeral."

Muse nodded and immediately picked up the shovel to dig more holes, while the captain still remained standing there, looking at me standing blankly.

"You can rest" continued Blade.

At least, there must be something I need to do to atone for this sin of mine. "Captain, let me bury this man's body, and his lover's."

"Don't force yourself" I quietly pulled the two lovers' bodies and dug them up and buried them next to each other. In lieu of the tombstones I planted their weapons, Toby's sword and Lura's bow.

"Gomeifuku wo oinori itashi - masu."*

After saying my prayers to them, I waited for Blade and Muse to finish their work before returning to the convoy.

When we arrived, our captain approached the commander of Montez who was talking to one of the Alfheim border guards. The guard could still stand even with his arms wrapped in bandages.

"We're lucky they didn't bring a witch with explosive magic" Blade told the two knights.

"Yes, but if they take her, I'm optimistic that the Princess will remain safe" Montez replied with a sigh of relief. "It's thanks to the 'VIP Security Simulation' we've been doing all along. Although many superiors find it uncomfortable, I'm impressed by your techniques of securing."

"There is no need to praise us. We learned this from the military academy."

"The sun is about to set, we better hurry to find a camping place."

"How's Leon's wound?"

"Just a little scratch. He was afraid when he saw the Princess because thanks to him the carriage owned by the Princess was destroyed."

While Blade and Montez were chatting and discussing their next plan, Muse and I walked back to our train. Jeanne and Xenous were happily waiting for our arrival.

"Where is the young man we arrested?" Jeanne asked with a smile that could shine through the darkness.

"Yha, that bastard was somehow able to escape and try to stab me, but luckily we can send him to the afterlife first," Muse's reply made Jeanne's countenance change.

"You killed him?!" Jeanne exclaimed at Muse with indignation.

"It happened very quickly. It's hard to catch him alive. But I think it's better for him to die than to be a threat to the Princess."

"But taking the lives of prisoners is a crime! Knights are forbidden from doing that!" Jeanne continued to make her argument, irritating Muse even more.

"Sorry, I can't 'Edo Tensei'*! Anyway I almost died getting hacked by that bastard and Wand already sent him to hell! What else to question?!"

"Wands....Wand couldn't have done it, right? He can stop it without killing. I-yes, right, Wand?" Ask Jeanne shiver. The girl looked at me while biting her lips.

Without thinking, I immediately replied Jeanne.

"I'd rather kill a hundred people if it's to protect Nate."

"W-w-wand," Jeanne was wide-eyed at my answer. I really didn't want to see his expression back then. "What are you saying, Wand?! This is not true! It is our duty to protect those who surrender! Exterminating them will only get us-"

"Shut up, bitch! I'm sick of all your naive bullshit!" Somehow those horrible words came out of my mouth. It was as if the devil in me was saying that.

The pink haired girl just stood still, unable to believe what I had said.

One of the knights under Jeanne growled and pulled the chain shirt around my neck.

"How dare you say that to the captain! Killed you!"

"Lu want to kill me, huh?! Kill it if you can!" I shouted in a defiant tone. Retaliating pulled his chain shirt and clenched his hands like he wanted to kill that person.

"Stop you two!"

Jeanne quickly separated us both. The pair of sparkling blue eyes stared at me intensely, making me unable to return her gaze. The knight slowly removed my collar and spat at my feet.

A moment after the man walked away, Jeanne clasped my harness and stared up.

"Wand, please tell me. What's wrong with you?"

"Leave me alone, Jeanne....Before anyone gets hurt...." I answered before I got away from him.

"Wait a minute" The innocent girl tried to grab my arm but I let go of it violently.

"You, leave him alone, Jeanne," said Xenous to stop Jeanne.

A normal girl would definitely run away after seeing this hidden figure of mine, but why is Jeanne always trying to get close to me? Does he not know the consequences? Is she that naive?

I don't heed anything else. I just walked quickly away from them without caring about the annoyed gazes of the knights under Jeanne's lead.

"What's wrong? Why are you suddenly like this?"

Elisha who was sitting in the carriage asked while watching me. I did not answer as if I had only heard the wind and sat in the coachman's seat. I stared blankly at the ground. I wanted to hit something but I knew it would cause chaos.

Elisha sounded behind me.

"I see," Someone suddenly hugged me from behind. It smells like jasmine flowers. The man whispered in my ear softly. "Calm down, I'm here."

It turns out he was. I let myself be comfortable in the arms of this Elf girl. After a while of being hugged like this, consciousness and emotions gradually returned with a recovery. I wanted to cry, but my tears were dry, not coming out at all.

I secretly glanced at Jeanne who was watching us from afar. The expression on his face was enough to make me want to shoot myself in the head....

I clasped Elisha's hand and whispered. "I beg you, leave me, Elisha. I'm fine."

"If you need anything, call me."

"Um," Elisha stroked my hair and kissed it gently before letting go of me, leaving me aloof.

I grabbed a cigarette in my pocket, put it in my mouth and then turned it on with a lighter. I sighed, enjoying the soothing smoke coming out of my nose and mouth. I very rarely smoke because it is not good for health, but I am not thinking about it anymore at this time. I put all my emotions on that lung-damaging device.

I'm upset with myself.

I regretted killing them, but the other side of my mind said I did the right thing. It was not my fault that they were on different sides and whatever their purpose was, their purpose was opposite to my mission, so as a soldier it was my duty to finish them off. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw tens or even hundreds of people I had killed staring at me, as if haunting me at any moment.

But the most I can't forgive is that I've said horrible things to Jeanne.

All these feelings were mixed up in my mind, and came out slowly in the form of cigarette smoke.

Regardless of the poignant gaze of a pink-haired knight girl, I could only continue to tell myself that everything would be fine even though my eyes continued to stare blankly a thousand yards ahead.
