Dreams of Devi

Dreams of Devi
Semester Mid-Test

This morning was not as quiet as usual. Not long after I arrived at the class, some friends also came. Yes, today is the first day of the midterms. Most of the friends who come intend to leave early to learn.

In the corner of the class seemed some friends who studied together with Dila as her tutor. I chose not to join my friends who study in groups. Understandably, I can better understand the material if it is in a calm atmosphere. That's why I usually learn by isolating myself.

"Are you ready for today, Dev?" nindi asked when she had just arrived in class.

"I learned, but I don't know later. Hope you can do it" I replied with a laugh.

"I haven't learned yet, Dev." Nindi dropped her bag on the table.

I just smiled, don't be so trusting when the class star says so. Usually they do not learn because everything is stored in the brain.

"So seriously, Dev?" lirih Nindi again.

"Sstt, you don't be fussy! If you want rame, same Alwi there!" I pointed to Alwi who was no less busy with his book. Yes, this is how difficult it is to be in a superior class, the occupants are too serious when studying.

Nindi then picked up her book and opened some initial sheets. Every now and then I look at Nindi, she's like she's just flipping through the paper, maybe it's all in her head. Not long after the bell rang, we immediately sat down neatly and prayed.

Unlike term-end exams whose schedules are structured, midterm exams are usually organized according to the subject schedule. Because English in the daily lesson schedule falls on the first lesson hour, the first UTS is English.

It is not as formal as the final semester exam. For the sitting pattern is also the same when the usual lesson hours. There were no answer sheets from the teachers, the students were asked to provide their respective papers. Even with the problem, it is not shared in the form of print out but the teacher dictates it.

"Just ten questions and I think you've learned the material. I hope there is no cheating in the process. Please look carefully, because the matter is delivered in oral form!"

Ms. Intan made the announcement. My feeling is not good, usually the English teacher likes to surprise. The five questions were conveyed by Ms. Intan clearly, but I was dizzy first. Yes, it is only five points, but it has a three to five point branch.

I glanced at Nindi, she looked down and focused on the paper. Even though he was my best friend, I never once asked for his help during the exam. I always try to do what I can, even though sometimes the answers I write do not match the orders requested.

The atmosphere of the class was initially very calm, until finally the sound of mobile phone Bu Intan. Ms. Intan left the class to pick up the call. Not long after the uproar occurred, Nindi was attacked by several friends.

"Nin, what's number two like?" asked Oliv so loudly from his stool.

The same thing happened to the students. They looked confused even exchanging answer sheets. I just shook my head and clucked, my mediocre brain capacity turned out to function as well. No one asked me a single child. Yes, that means I am not recommended to be a place to find cheats.

"It's also been left for a while, even rowdy you!" chirping Madam Intan so back from outside the classroom. The classroom atmosphere was quiet again, more precisely because of fear.

Ms. Intan looked stand by at the teacher's desk, she then opened the laptop and did nothing. I noticed some friends stealing to get answers. Ah, how reckless!

"Devi, please love Nindi." Risa who was opposite my stool was heard whispering. Especially this?

"What?" I looked doubtfully.

"Love this paper to Nindi!" Risa threw the paper at me. Reflex I saw Ms. Intan, afraid if she caught.

"It's from Risa, Nin." I gave the paper to Nindi. The girl let out an annoyed breath. Even so, I guess later Nindi will definitely give the answer as well.

"You give him." Nindi shifted the paper and asked me to give it to Risa. I'm executing on request.

"Nin, if you object, you will occasionally refuse. Don't be given to them, they will visit, you know," I said to Nindi.

"I don't feel good when someone asks for help."

"Yes, sorry, Dev. Next time I'll be even more strict."

Only then did Nindi say that, Risa threw her paper at me. Damn, the paper fell and impatient Risa scolded me instead.

"Pick taken!" peekik Risa's. He was getting furious and excited himself, I deliberately seemed not to pay much attention to him.

"It's weird, isn't it, is he? A normal day is not known. The time of the test was begging, where the meaning again!" I said to Nindi gossiping about Risa's attitude.

"Big, Devi! Get the paper!"

"Dev, please take it!" nindi Pinta.

I rolled my eyes irritated. Nindi is sometimes scared and shy. He just promised to be firm.

I leaned over to grab the paper that had fallen off earlier. Less than a few centimeters to get. Risa's base, just make someone else in trouble.

"Eh, who are you? Devi, right, your name?"

Shit, Miss Intan caught me. I immediately put on a firm sitting position and focused on my answer. I was getting more and more frightened when Ms. Intan approached me.

"You Mother notice from earlier the mulu motion? Are you looking for answers?" cecar Bu Intan to make me the center of attention of the entire class.

"No, really, Mom. Last time my eraser fell, I continued to take it," I said trying to Bu Intan unsuspecting.

"One more time I see you're acting out even caught cheating, I make sure your grades are zero!" threatening Madam Intan made my heart race faster.

"Yes, Mom. I'm sorry if I disturb the calm" I said.

Ms. Intan went back to her desk, I felt a little relieved. I heard that Risa was grumbling, perhaps upset at failing to get an answer. Hey, doesn't he care about me being on the edge?

Nindi rubbed my shoulders softly and asked me to be patient. He also apologized, because he was with Risa, I was affected. Yeah, Nindi always felt so bad.

After Bu Intan scolded me, the condition of the class became more conducive. No more whispers of the questioner. I'm much happier like this even though I have to be the victim.

"It's less than fifteen minutes" said Bu Intan, who eventually panicked the rest of the class.

"Kids, please don't be rowdy! Fifteen minutes is a lot!"

How not to panic, there are still three questions I have not answered. I try to remember the material about it.

"Not done yet, Dev? Want help?" lirih Nindi's.

"No, Nin."

Don't let Ms. Intan give me zero because of Nindi's kindness.

The clock change bell rings. That means that it ends the working time for English. Ms. Intan ordered to immediately gather the answers on the teacher's desk. Me and my friends grew increasingly foggy when Bu Intan counted from the number ten backwards. I don't know, whatever the outcome, this is my own business.
