Dreams of Devi

Dreams of Devi
Bolu Banana

Before Isya Budhe Dewi ordered to immediately prepare a variety of small meals to the event venue, namely in the living room. Don't ask who was given such a task, it's definitely me and Rehan. Several times Rehan murmured to me, he was annoyed to be treated so. I just quietly responded, after all there is no point in complaining, after all, no one cares either.

"Bak, there's only one tray left. Yes, yes?" Rehan first kept the tray, very clever my brother. Immediately I move the last four plates to the gathering place of family members.

"This is for Tia."

I looked up at Budhe Dewi who was handing out envelopes to her nieces. Anyone who does not like to be given money for free. The blissful mutterings of some of the cousins who got the money also rubbed off on me.

"Eh, Devi how are you?" Mas Aiman approached me. She is my cousin who is my oldest granddaughter. He was also one of the friendly people in this big family.

"Alhamdulillah, fine."

"Where's your school?"

Unfortunately at that time I saw the Goddess Budhe who was looking at me so sharply. His eye sign showed that I had to go to the kitchen. After answering Mas Aiman's question as necessary, I went to the kitchen.

"Budhe won't be there?" I asked Budhe Alya who was still busy arranging some dishes into the shelf.

"Budhe is here. Ordinary, Budhe's a consumption division, working behind the scenes." Budhe chuckles.

Budhe Alya is actually luckier than me and Rehan. Fate is better, no one excommunicates him in this family. I don't think Budhe Alya chose to attend the event out of pity for me and Rehan.

"Kan, there I am with Rehan. Budhe just went there," I suggested.

"But if Budhe wants to be here what?" I'm just smiling.

Me, Budhe Alya, and Rehan sat in the kitchen during the show. I never know for sure how the arrangement of the show because it never came along. I watched Rehan who was beginning to drift and lay his body coiled on the mat.

"Cappies, Re?" my many.

"No, just bosen. Confused about what to do," he replied.

"Aren't you going to eat Budhe's snacks?"

"So take one, Budhe."

"Take it again, no one will eat, you know."

"Sir, I am hungry" cried Rehan grimacing at me.

"Eh, are you hungry? O God, forget not yet to eat. But it looks like the food was brought to the front of all," said Budhe Alya who looked down the places used to put food.

"So Father nitip money into me, kok, Budhe. If you want to eat, you are told to buy meatballs first."

Yes, I told you, do not eat anything when here unless it is welcome by the host. I really understand the character of Budhe Dewi who is very sentimental to the family. He treated us very unworthy.

"Well, good idea, ma'am. Rehan wants meatballs if that's it!" Rehan snapped his finger and then put his hand to me asking for money.

"Why is there a meatball here?"

"It's not far from here, really."

I gave the money that my father had put to me. Through the back door Rehan said to buy meatballs. Budhe Alya banned Rehan. But how else, anyway? Budhe Alya finally allowed after not being sure if there would be leftovers to give to me and Rehan.

"Sorry, yes, Nduk. You know that Budhe brought rice from home to make you eat," said Budhe Alya.

"Look out, Budhe. I'm the same Rehan long time not eating meatballs. I think it's really good to eat meatballs at night."

Not long after, Rehan finally returned. Unfortunately, he seemed disappointed because what he was looking for was not there. Maybe it's too late or indeed the meatballs have been around in other areas.

"Oh, Le. Wait for the rice to end the event, yes," said Budhe Alya looks unbearable.

"Yes, Budhe."

Nine o'clock the evening the show's over. Some relatives whose homes are far away also began to say goodbye. The car that originally filled the courtyard of Budhe Dewi's house one by one went home. I woke Rehan who had just slept in a state of hunger, not the real heart.

"We bring here the dishes in the living room" said Budhe Alya.

"Kok, just seen, Dev?" asked Mas Aiman who picked up the plate and put it in my tray.

"I'm behind help Budhe Alya."

"You rarely come along, huh? Or is it coming but always in the kitchen?" I'm just smiling. It looks like your family here is completely invisible. Doesn't matter.

After I thought enough, I took the dirty dishes to the kitchen. Apparently Mas Aiman also helped by carrying a few piles of dishes. You are preparing to be a dishwasher, while Rehan still looks weak because his sleep is disturbed.

"Rehan turned out to be here as well" said Mas Aiman aware of Rehan's whereabouts.

"Oh, there's Paklik too." Mas Aiman nodded towards the Father.

I left Mas Aiman still talking to you. He was friendly like that.

"It's over, all right, Nduk!"

I who was about to head to the living room was prevented by Budhe Alya. Apparently all the dirty dishes he had brought. I joined the Father.

"Where did SMP Devi plan to go?" ask Mas Aiman to me. I smiled again, because I had not thought about which school I would choose.

"Devi's plan is to put it in the pesantren. Hopefully there is a rizki" replied the father.

"Oh, Kirain wants to go to school with me. If in my High School, then let us go together," said Mas Aiman.

"I recite what you said, Mom."

Mas Aiman School in High School 1 which is in the city. That high school was my dream school. However, I can only follow all your wishes.

"Goddess, where's the rice?" Budhe Alya asked so when Budhe Dewi came.

"That's on the table, Ma'am."

I saw there was only a box of rice there. It looks like it was given to Budhe Alya.

"One only?"

"Yes, that's for you, ma'am."

"Make Basir equal to his children?"

"Duh, it's over, ma'am. They let's eat a banana sponge."

"Oh Allah, Wi, you have a lot of heart. They're from the afternoon here, you know. Even Rehan was starving."

"Yes, that's the reason I pesen pasen, Ma'am."

"They're still your brothers, too. You can only use them. I kept quiet because I was holding it, Wi. But this time I can't!"

"Budhe Alya, Aiman's rice for Rehan to eat. Mama and papa must not be eaten either. I brought it here, yeah!"

"Eh, no need, Mas," said Mr. preventing Mas Aiman.

"Yes, Mas. No need," I added.

"Basir, tomorrow Devi equals Rehan should go to school. You go home first," said Budhe Alya telling you to go home.

"It's not over yet, Ma'am."

"Leave it. I'm done with this, I'm going home too."

"Yes, Sir. Let's just go home" said Rehan.

When I saw the Father who looked doubtful, he glanced at the silent Budhe Dewi.

"Already, Sir. Don't be too good, maybe what you help even visit. Hurry home! This is for Devi and Rehan." Budhe Alya slipped two pieces into my grasp. After this me, Father, and Rehan immediately went home.
