Me, Father, and Rehan arrived home at half-ten p.m. The intention to buy food failed because many traders were already closed. I went straight to the kitchen to see the condition of the rice left over from this afternoon. Unfortunately the rice has changed its smell, color, and taste.
"We'll cook rice first, okay?" bargain the Father who seemed to have no heart for me and Rehan.
"No need, sir. Go straight to sleep, you're sleepy."
I caught a look of disappointment on Rehan's face. He followed me who was walking towards the room.
"Sir ... Basir ... is asleep, tho?" I heard the knocking on the kitchen door.
"Not yet, what's up, Dhe?" I rushed to open the door, from the sound that was heard, it seemed Mbah Tirah was looking for the Father.
"What's up, Dhe?"
"This is for you. There was hajajatan ma'am, rice thanks."
Hearing the words from Mbah Tirah, Rehan and I compactly stared at each other. It was an unexpected rizki for us who were starving. After Mbah Tirah, Rehan and I immediately approached the Father.
"Alhamdulillah, we eat together. In front of the TV, huh?"
Rehan took the food that the Father brought. He excitedly headed in front of the TV. I followed him from behind, thank God!
"What's the snack, Ma'am?" Rehan took out the snack box that was at the very top.
I'll open it immediately. There are various snacks there; apem cakes, lemper, risol, donuts, oranges, bikang, egg nuts, and mineral water. Understandably, who has a wish is a person who is.
As for the rice there are two containers. One in a Styrofoam box packaging that is usually special for fathers who teach. This time the rice box contains rendang side dishes, potato sauce, and pickles. Rehan immediately hid the box for himself.
"It's for me, Ma'am!" rehan.
"See the cething rice!"
Rehan shifted the rice one more. The rice is usually placed in a container of a type of plastic bowl commonly called cething. The contents are more diverse, there is a large roast chicken, lalapan, sambal, dried potatoes, and fried noodles. As a complement, there are also rempeyek and shrimp crutches that are in their own packaging.
"Lho, that one was delicious as well as it turned out," said Rehan.
"Hayo, confused which one to eat? Eat together, Re," I suggest.
"No! I still want this one. But I'll also ask for the side dish there."
"Yes, yeah. Yes, eat immediately. Later the night hunt," said the father who was beside me.
I've heard it said the best side dishes are whatever we eat when we're hungry. And, for now we really feel the pleasure. In addition to being hungry, because basically all the side dishes in the food are delicious.
"Mom take this, okay?" said Mr. while taking lemper. I just nodded because my mouth was still full of food.
"The dough looks good. Risolnya. Em, bikang too," lirih Rehan looked confused choosing snacks.
"Everything's good, Re. We share, half-and-half let us feel together" I suggested.
"Well, that's a good idea. Let's eat the Biknya first, huh, Mommy?"
"Can!" Rehan reaches for food with green and white color and has a sweet taste. He then split it into two equally large then one of them was given to me.
"This is for Devi."
"Aren't you full, Re?" I wonder because Rehan still seems excited to devour everything.
"Still strong accommodating, Ma'am." Rehan patted his stomach.
"I can't sleep just know the taste!"
"It can eat well, ma'am!"
Rice thanks to the toilet runs out, there are only a few snacks left. I went first to his room. I'm still waiting for Rehan who is still reluctant to end his eating activities.
"Buruan, um. I'm still waiting, you know!"
I began to rest and tried to close my eyes when Rehan had finished eating and entered his room. Unfortunately, until midnight, my drowsiness has not been felt. My hands moved in search of a blanket, suddenly my body felt cold.
"Sir, it's morning. Tumben's not up yet." I knocked on my room door.
I blinked observing the clock on the wall. The feeling I just got to sleep. However, it turns out that what you said was true, now it is five in the morning. I hurried to the bathroom to wudu and immediately performed the Fajr prayer.
Upon returning from the bathroom, I saw a burning wood stove with two cauldrons on it. He was busy cutting some vegetables from the field.
"Sick, Nduk?" ask Father.
"I guess, Sir. It feels dizzy just as nauseous. Which rehan?"
"Ahead. He said he wanted to sweep, but it was still dark gini."
"There-there's a thing."
"If you get sick later on holiday first, you must be tired, Nduk."
I just smiled then passed to immediately perform the prayer. It seems like I need a break. My body hurts everything, maybe a cold.
Finished my prayers immediately dimbung on the prayer mat. I wanted to yell at you, I couldn't help you this morning. But my body is very weak. I heard the distinctive sound of Rehan's footsteps that seemed to be walking in front of my room, and immediately I called him.
"What's up, Ma'am?"
"Say, Father, I can't help. My body hurts all, Re. Ask for a letter, yes. I'm off today."
"Yes, Mommy."
Shortly afterwards, I knocked on my door. I asked him to open it because I never locked it. A glass of warm tea you brought me. My father helped me to sit.
"Drink first, Nduk!"
I sipped the tea a little. The usually delicious drink did not arouse my taste at all.
"Who will the letter be given to?" ask Father.
"Titip to Alwi's house, sir. You know Mr. Hendra, right? Mr. Hendra is Miss Salma's husband" I explained.
"Oh, yes, you know. Later you leave it when it's done Rehan."
"It's been, sir." Rehan handed me the envelope containing my license.
"You must catch a cold, called Mbah Rum, huh?" I shook my head, I haven't had a massage in a long time and I don't want one right now either.
"No papa, Ma'am. Not sick, really. Later let it heal quickly," Rehan said as if reassuring me.
"Grandie, Re."
"No papa, Ma'am."
"You, yeah, Nduk. Later you will call all of you just want to nitip letter."
I nodded, just this time. I'm afraid I won't meet with Alwi.
Rehan is still waiting beside me. I just want to laugh to see his expression that seems unbearable to me. He occasionally permits to go to the kitchen to see maybe your firewood comes out of his legs.
"Aren't you ready for school, Re?" I asked Rehan who wasn't ready for school.
"This time, Ma'am. Wait Dad!"
