You used to sing "Nina Bobo" for your son or sister ?. Did you know that this nina bobo song holds a pretty scary story.

The title track "Nina Bobo" is taken from the name of an Indonesian-Dutch child named Hele nina Mustika Van Rodjnik who was born in 1871. His mother was a native Javanese named Mustika. His father was a captain named Van Rodjnik.

Since the baby Hele Nina always had trouble sleeping, every time she was about to sleep she always revolted and cried. Therefore, Hele Nina's mother, Mustika then tried to give small humming to calm her down so that Hele Nina could fall asleep. But over time Hele Nina even seemed accustomed to the humming. He would not be able to sleep if the song was not sung.

Because of this custom, Captain Van Rodjnik then asked his wife to make the lyrics of the song, so that Hele Nina and Van Rodjnik could understand. Finally made the lyrics of the song Nina Bobo as we often hear today.

In 1875, Hele Nina became seriously ill. Because of the pain she suffered, Hele Nina became difficult to sleep. Helenin's pain was prolonged, every night her mother kept singing "Nina Bobo" so that Hele Nina could fall asleep. In 1878, Hele Nina died. At that time he was 6 years old. Van Rodjnik's family was sad, his mother seemed devastated and did not accept the departure of his son.

A week after Hele Nina's death, Captain Van Rodjnik found Mustika singing "Nina Bobo" in the bathroom. His voice echoed until it was heard all over the house. After being asked by Captain Van Rodjnik, Mustika then replied that he heard Hele Nina crying in the bathroom so he took the initiative to sing the song "Nina Bobo.

After Mustika and Hele Nina died, Captain Van Rodjnik lived alone. He claimed to often hear the sound of the baby crying, but he did not really care about it and rushed to sleep. Several times he was always carried away by dreams about a child who was crying. Until his peak one night, Captain Van Rodjnik heard the sound of a child crying again. But then again he did not care much about it and rushed to sleep.

Finally one night Captain Van Rodjnik who was sleeping soundly suddenly shocked when he found the hand of a little boy about 6 years old was crying and waking him up. The little boy said, "Pa.... How come Papa doesn't sing to me....??".

After the incident the mind of Captain Van Rodjnik was disturbed and every night he always sang the song "Nina Bobo" repeatedly until he died.

It is said when you sing this song as a lullaby for your baby, just as you leave the room where your child is asleep. Nina will come to your child's room and keep your child asleep until the next morning.
