Detective Ryan sat at his desk, staring at his computer screen with tired eyes. Already this week he experienced lethargy, he felt he did not have the spirit to work anymore.
That's when his co-worker, Detective Maya, walks into his room with a file in hand.
"There's new news, Ryan," said Maya, throwing the file on Ryan's desk.
Ryan took the file and opened it. It contained information about several cases of fires in the city. Over the past two weeks, there have been seven fires burning in different places.
"There have been too many fires in such a short time. We have to deal with this immediately" Maya said.
Ryan agreed. "Is there a visible pattern in these events?" ask Ryan.
Maya shook her head. "There is no clear pattern. But I'm sure we can find out who did it" he said.
Ryan took the file and started to check it. He saw several images showing traces of the fire and did an internet search of each location of the fire.
A few minutes later, Ryan found something that caught his eye. "Maya, look at this" he said, showing a photo of his co-worker.
Maya looked at the photo carefully. "What do you think happened there?" ask Maya.
Ryan smiled. "It looks like someone is trying to eliminate traces of fire using chemicals" Ryan replied.
Maya surprised. "How do you know that?" tanyakanya.
Ryan explained, "I just did a search about chemicals that are often used to clean up the scars. And I think those chemicals were used at the site of the fire."
Maya nodded in understanding. "You're smart, Ryan" he said with a smile.
Ryan smiled back. "But we need to be more thorough. Who knows, someone's trying to cover something up by doing a fire" Ryan said.
Maya agreed. "Let's find out who did it right away" Maya said.
The two of them then began to gather information about all the fires that occurred and find out if there was a link between the events. Not long after, they discover some similarities in fire patterns and begin planning strategies to catch the culprits
Their conversation continued late into the night, as they wanted to make sure that no important information was missed. However, the more information they find, the more it becomes clear that the case is more complicated than they think
They plan to conduct a survey around the fire site to look for evidence that may have been overlooked by firefighters or early investigators. However, before that they had to ask permission from the authorities first.
Detective Ryan: "We need to ask permission to conduct a survey around the fire site. We also need to contact witnesses who might see what happened before the fire happened."
Detective Sarah: "Yes, right. But, we must be careful not to interfere with the evidence that can still be found at the scene. We have to make sure that our actions do not damage or remove any evidence that may be important to the case."
Detective Ryan: "Again. We must be careful and make sure that our actions do not harm the case. We'll do a survey in the morning, when the sunlight is bright enough to see clearly around the fire site."
Detective Sarah: "Okay, I'll make a list of witnesses who might see what happened before the fire. We need to ask them for details in order to find a clearer clue as to the cause of this fire."
Detective Ryan: "Well, I'll check the initial records of the firefighters and initial investigators to see what they've found. We need to know all the information that's in place before doing tomorrow's survey."
They then finalized their plans and parted ways to get ready for action tomorrow morning. However, despite their great efforts to find an answer in this case, it was felt that more and more questions were coming up than answers.
Detective dian: "It's been two weeks since the first incident, so we don't have much time to find the culprit. We need to act quickly and look for clearer clues."
Detective Ryan: "Yes, we must move quickly and thoroughly in investigating the case. We also need to work with firefighters and authorities to obtain more complete information.
Detective Dian: "Again, we also need to check the CCTV camera footage and look for eyewitnesses who were around the fire site. All the clues and evidence found would be helpful to identify the culprit."
Detective Ryan: "We also need to check the history of crime in the surrounding area. There may have been a similar case before. The perpetrator may have had a previous criminal record."
Detective Dian: "Very likely. We also have to check whether there are certain people or groups who have a motive to carry out the burning. We need to make sure no one's involved in this."
Detective Ryan: "Well, let's take those steps immediately and try to find the perpetrator before it's too late."
Detective Ryan: "I agree. We need to get as much information as possible to speed up the investigation process. I will also coordinate with relevant parties to obtain more complete information.
Detective Dian: "Well, I trust you to coordinate with the relevant parties. I will lead the investigation team and make sure all aspects related to the case will be carefully studied. We'll find the perpetrator, no matter how hard the case is
Detective Ryan arrived at the scene of the fire with a feeling of alarm. He saw the burning building and the firefighters were still trying to put out the remnants of the fire. He took a note and started checking around the scene of the fire.
He saw there were some clues that might be helpful in the investigation. He found some burnt items and inspected the remains closely. He saw traces of gasoline and some matches lying on the ground.
Detective Ryan took some photos of the items and put them in his bag. He also inspected the perimeter of the building for signs that someone might be involved in the burning. He saw some footprints on the ground, but there was no sign of anyone around the building.
After he finished inspecting the scene of the fire, he gathered all the clues and returned to the office to conduct an analysis and gather more information. He hopes that the clues can help them find the arsonist and solve the case quickly.
Detective Ryan returns to the office and meets Detective Dian.
Detective Ryan: "I've checked the scene of the fire and managed to gather some pretty eye-catching clues. I think this could help us in finding the culprit."
Detective Dian: "Well, what are those clues?"
Detective Ryan: "First, I found some wood chips that may have come from the object the perpetrator used to burn the building. Second, I also found footprints around the fire area that didn't seem to have come from firefighters or from a legitimate person being there at the time of the incident."
Detective Dian: "Interesting. I think we need to examine the logs in a forensic lab and try to figure out who has the same shoe-sized foot as the footprints found."
Detective Ryan: "Yes, I agree. I also think that we need to check the CCTV footage around the fire area to find out if there was a suspicious person or vehicle at the time of the incident."
Detective Dian: "Well, I will immediately ask the forensic and IT officers to assist us in this investigation. We have to keep working fast and meticulously to find the perpetrator before it's too late."
Detective Ryan: "I agree. Let's step up and solve the case."
Detective Ryan then ordered a forensic team to conduct an analysis of the evidence found at the scene of the fire. Meanwhile, Detective Dian enlisted the help of the IT team to check the CCTV footage around the area.
After several hours, the IT team managed to find some CCTV footage showing the presence of a suspicious man around the fire site. Detective Ryan and Detective Dian then examine the footage and conduct an analysis of the physical features of the man.
Detective Dian: "We need to find out the identity of this man immediately. Maybe he was the arsonist."
Detective Ryan: "Right. I'll ask for help from security personnel in this area to find out who the man is and whether he has an alibi for the time of the incident."
Detective Dian: "Well, let's step up and find the arsonist. Time goes on and we don't have much time."
Detective Ryan: "I agree. We must continue to work quickly and thoroughly in order to find the perpetrator before it is too late.
Detective Ryan: "We also need to do an interview with eyewitnesses who were around the scene. They could provide useful information in this investigation."
Detective Dian: "Well, I will immediately ask the investigating officer to gather any eyewitnesses that may have been around the scene. We also need to check if there is a particular person or group that has a motive to do this burning."
Detective Ryan: "I agree. We must examine all possibilities and not miss a single clue that can help us find the perpetrator. Let's get to work and settle the case quickly."
Detective Ryan and Detective Dian immediately began the investigation after returning to the police station. They are working closely with forensic and IT officers to examine the evidence found at the scene of the fire. They also checked CCTV footage around the fire area and found out who the man looked suspicious.
After several days of investigation, they found some clues that could point them to the arsonists. They found some chemicals commonly used to make Molotov cocktails at the scene of the fire. They also found traces of shoes that could be a clue to the perpetrator.
Detective Ryan and Detective Dian then go on to develop an investigation and find out who has access or knowledge of the chemicals. They checked the list of chemical buyers at chemical stores in the area around the scene of the fire.
After some time, they found a man who had bought the chemical. The man also had a criminal history of arson. Detective Ryan and Detective Dian enlisted the help of security officers to find out who the man was and whether he had an alibi for the time of the incident.
After an examination, the man finally admitted that he was the arsonist. He took the action because of a personal vendetta against the restaurant owner. He was immediately arrested and processed in accordance with the applicable law.
Detective Ryan and Detective Dian successfully solve the arson case thanks to their hard work and thoroughness in conducting the investigation. They manage to find the perpetrator and ensure that the crime does not recur in the future.
