Afzal thought for a moment and weighed. If he left this hall, then everyone would be convinced that he was here to beg for food. He thought maybe he should accept Aiden's invitation to sit at the front desk. At the very least, that way the people who were mocking him would shut up.
Afzal then nodded his head, “Okay!”
Afzal immediately walked towards the front area followed by the gaze of everyone inside the hall, then sat on the empty seat between Aiden and Elena.
“No shame!”
“Not self-conscious!”
“How dare the beggar sit one table with distinguished people.”
“She even sat very close to Miss Elena!”
The other guests whispered to Afzal with envy and hatred.
Alice, Yuri, Xavia and her grub looked at Quinton with question mark gazes. They really didn't like to see Afzal sitting with a special guest, at the front desk right in front of the stage. Alice and her friends' desk was in the middle of the room.
“So if someone invites you to sit at that table, do you have to accept it?”
Quinton felt extremely offended and envious. He should be the center of attention tonight.
Quinton then approached Aiden's desk and whispered to him, “Master Aiden, what are you doing? How could this guy sit here?”
Aiden immediately stood up and snorted in annoyance, “What if he was sitting here? If he can't be here, we'll be out too!”
Several other guests with close ties to Aiden's family also stood up. If Aiden left the show, then they would also follow him.
“It..”.
Quinton's facial expression instantly turned nervous and fearful. The opening ceremony of the Grand Marshall Restaurant was supported by Aiden and the rich people around him. Quinton realized he would not be able to fight the Baker family.
Quinton also did not run out of thought, how could Aiden who was very arrogant could be so polite to Afzal.
“Of course he can sit here. As per your orders, Sir. Yes, this person can sit here.”
After saying so, Quinton glanced at Afzal with an angry look and immediately turned towards his seat.
In his seat, Quinton was immediately asked by Alice and the others. “Quinton, what happened? Why did Aiden take the trash out to sit at the front desk?”
“I'm not sure, but maybe because Aiden doesn't like it when my family gets permission to run Grand Marshall. The Baker family initially took the rights to manage the restaurant, but my father put in a lot of effort and used his network until he got a successful restaurant management permit. That seems to be the reason Aiden is cynical about me. Yeah, because it's the opening of my restaurant so I can't possibly make a fuss with Aiden and his grub. Plus they are well respected people in the city of Mayberry.”
“Ah, yes definitely that's the reason!” Quinton's friends finally understood what was happening.
Alice and Xavia heaved a sigh of relief.
Had Afzal really had a close relationship with Aiden and the Baker family, Xavia would have felt very sorry. Yuri alone could not know Aiden, how could a person like Afzal be friends with Aiden and his grub?
On the contrary, at the front desk Afzal did not want to bother with the thoughts of Xavia and the others about him at the moment.
No exception Elena.
“Neither expected, we meet again this soon,” Afzal said smiling at Elena.
“Yes, Mr. Crawford. It's been set destiny.” The other girl replied and looked at Afzal with a spoiled look.
Elena then remembered what her father had said this afternoon. He nodded slowly at Afzal.
“Mr Afzal. You're not on good terms with Quinton, are you? Ask Aiden.
“Yes, we are not at all familiar” Afzal replied telling the truth.
“That's good, Mr. Crawford, because we plan to embarrass and destroy the reputation of Quinton and his family tonight. However, we were afraid of Uncle Zack so we didn't have time to do anything. If you support us, we will destroy Quinton tonight. Hahaha!”
“So what are your plans?” Tanya Afzal curious.
When Quinton approached Aiden earlier, Afzal could see that even though Quinton was being very polite to Aiden, it was clear that Quinton and Aiden were actually not very familiar. Quinton was just being polite out of respect for the Baker family.
“Hahaha! I'll show you a video.”
After saying so, Aiden pulled out his phone and showed him a video recording. The video shows a large bedroom. Then Quinton was seen entering the room with a woman who seemed unconscious. That beautiful woman is in her thirties.
What happens next need not be explained.
The video was only three minutes long, but it made Afzal feel embarrassed to see it.
“Why do you want to destroy him? It's only natural that young men like Quinton get in touch with girls?” Afzal asked with a bitter smile.
Aiden was silent for a moment and replied, “Master Crawford, that is indeed true. We also often bring girls. But it's different with the Quinton case! Do you know who the woman in the video is? It was his stepmother!”
“Shoppers!”
Afzal's eyes widened to hear Aiden's explanation.
“Why do you hate Quinton so much that you have to follow and investigate?”
Aiden replied, “Who told them to break the unwritten rules among Mayberry Commercial Street businessmen? There was a big auction today and we, the Baker family, wanted to buy the rights to run Grand Marshall Restaurant. It was then that we were the highest bidder and we were very confident that we would be the winners in that big auction. In the last three minutes, usually the auctioneers were not allowed to bid again. But it turned out that the Ziegler family had placed an offer at the last minute. That's what led to them winning the auction and getting the rights to manage the restaurant!”
“... Since he has already started a war with my family, then now I will start a war with him!” Said Aiden in flames.
Afzal understands now. Quinton and his friends dare not take the step out of fear for Zack and worry that Zack will move on with the case and hold them accountable. After all, it became taboo for business owners on Mayberry Commercial Street to be hostile to their own circles.
“So, now you guys ask for my approval?”
“Yes, Mr. Crawford. As long as you protect us and tell Uncle Zack not to blame us. Then we are ready to take care of the rest.”
Afzal did not answer anything, he took a sip of wine from his glass.
