Chu Pian Ran's
Episode 5 Watching Lantern Festival

Actually Mr and Mrs Chu Jeong Byun felt heavy hearted if he allowed Lee Jiang Wook to take his daughter to see the lantern festival celebration. The two of them were worried that after watching the event, Chu Pian Ran's body would weaken again due to being exposed to the night wind for too long.

However, as the handsome young man continued to convince the couple, they finally allowed Lee Jiang Wook to bring his daughter but on condition that Chu Pian Ran already felt uncomfortable in his body, mr. Lee's only son Jiang Xun had to bring him home immediately.

After obtaining permission from Mr and Mrs Chu Jeong Byun, Lee Jiang Wook and Chu Pian Ran set their feet out of the residence.

Once on the streets of the capital, Song Hyu Meen's soul was completely blown away as soon as she witnessed the sparkling lights of the lanterns that illuminated the Qin capital that night. Lanterns of various shapes and colors decorate the streets and all the buildings in the region.

The streets of the Qin capital that night were really crowded with people passing by to also enliven the lantern festival.

"Are you happy?" Lee Jiang Wook asked as he turned to the girl walking beside his left.

"Yes I'm happy, the lanterns are truly amazing.." Chu Pian Ran replied with a faint smile.

For more than a month Mr. Chu Jeong Byun's only daughter never smiled, and tonight the handsome young man watched her smile return. Even if it was just a thin smile but it had made Mr. Lee's only son Jiang Xun feel happy.

"If you want the goods sold here just say so, no need to hesitate. I will buy it for you as my gratitude because you want to accompany me tonight" said Lee Jiang Wook, who received a nod of the head from the girl.

The two men continued to walk slowly while enjoying the beautiful night in the Qin capital. Suddenly, without any excuse, the young man's left hand held Chu Pian Ran's right hand which instantly made the girl glare at Lee Jiang Wook.

"Why don't you like it? Tonight too many people passed by, so I held your hands together so as not to separate. I promised Uncle Chu and Aunt to take good care of you" Lee's only son Jiang Xun gave an excuse that seemed 'reasonable', but behind his attitude it was, actually, he has another motive.

"But I feel uneasy," protested Mr. Chu's only daughter Jeong Byun bluntly with a face beginning to frown.

"Here you go, you don't have to complain like that. If anything happens to you later, I will regret it" Lee Jiang Wook remained steadfast with his stance.

Inevitably, Chu Pian Ran also obeyed the will of the handsome young man. To Lee Jiang Wook himself, the right hand of the girl he was holding now felt to provide a warmth and happiness in his heart.

"Look, there are many beautiful lanterns sold. How about we go there?" bargaining his only son Lee Jiang Xun as his right index finger pointed at a stall selling many lanterns which also only got a nod of the head from Chu Pian Ran as the heart of the girl still felt regret the attitude of Lee Jiang Wook.

Before long, the two of them then walked closer to the shop that sold the lantern, which seemed to be a bit of a buyer.

"Where do you like lanterns?" the young man asked as he turned to his daughter Mister Chu Jeong Byun who was standing to his left.

For a moment, Chu Pian Ran's eyes observed the lanterns and his right index finger pointed towards one of the lanterns that was red and had a pretty good shape.

"I want that one."

"Alright, I'll be there to see the seller. You stay here and don't go anywhere, huh..," Lee Jiang Wook's message that shortly afterwards he was seen breaking through the crowd of other buyers to approach the seller.

While waiting for the young man to buy and pay for the lantern he wanted, the girl also circulated her gaze looking around. Once again he was amazed by the atmosphere of the night.

A few minutes later, Master Lee's only son Jiang Xun was already beside Chu Pian Ran and showed the lantern he bought earlier to the girl.

"Thank you yes..," Chu Pian Ran said as he reached out his right hand intending to take over the lantern from Lee Jiang Wook's hand but the young man prevented it.

"Let me take him... Where do you want to go now? Or do you want to eat something good?" lee Jiang Wook said he offered something else to the girl.

"I still want to go for a walk, I'm really fascinated by the beauty of the lanterns," Chu Pian Ran replied bluntly.

"alright... But if you're already uncomfortable with your body, tell me right away. Don't force yourself. We can go straight home," the young man recalled his only daughter Mr. Chu Jeong Byun who was only answered with another nod of the head by the girl.

Before long, the two of them continued their journey with Lee Jiang Wook's right hand holding the lantern while his left hand held Chu Pian Ran's right hand.

A dozen minutes later, they arrived at a bridge under which flowed a fairly wide canal and there were several boats sailing on it.

"Do you want to wash away the lantern of supplication?" the handsome young man asked again to his only daughter Master Chu Jeong Byun.

"Yes I will," Chu Pian Ran replied briefly.

A moment later, Lee Jiang Wook asked the girl to buy a wish lantern at a kiosk and the two of them walked back to the canal.

At this time, the young man began to write his request on the lantern.

"What plea did you write?" lee Jiang Wook asked as he glanced at the lantern plea of his Chu Pian Ran.

"You don't need to know, it's a secret" said the girl in a slightly high voice while distancing her lantern so as not to be glimpsed again by the young man beside her right.

Because he did not want to argue, Lee Jiang Wook also discouraged his curiosity.

"Are you feeling all right or are we going straight home?" asked the handsome young man while suddenly tightening the collar of Chu Pian Ran's fur robe.

"I'm fine," the girl replied slightly nervously as a result of Lee Jiang Wook's attitude just now.

"You sure?" the young man stared fixedly at Chu Pian Ran to make sure that the girl was really fine.

"I'm sure Young Master Lee," Chu Pian Ran insisted.

"How about we just find a restaurant. I don't want you to be exposed to too much of the night wind" Lee said, Jiang Wook wanted to take the safest way.

"But I still want to go for a walk" Chu Pian Ran said with a slightly frowning face.

"I don't want to risk Ran'er too much... If after watching this lantern festival then you fall ill again, your father might hang me," the handsome young man tried to give understanding.

"For this lantern festival is held once a year. If next year your body is completely healed, you can see it until it is satisfied" added Lee Niang Wook.

Chu Pian Ran finally gave up. Before long, the young man took his girl to one of the famous restaurants in the capital. Then Lee Jiang Wook ordered a special dining room so that the two of them would not be bothered with the surrounding noise.

The 3-story restaurant looks more crowded than usual because today there is a special celebration that has been awaited by many people.

The residents of the Qin capital prefer to spend their time enjoying the lantern festival celebrations rather than staying indoors.

"How did your parents respond to the selection of the princes' concubines? Have they talked to you?" the young man brought back the matter he discussed a few days ago, he was still not satisfied with Chu Pian Ran's reply back then so today he asked him back.

"Already," Chu Pian Ran replied shortly.

"Then?" buru Lee Jiang Wook as he stared fixedly at his girl puja.

"It seems that you are very enthusiastic about discussing this matter," instead of answering the handsome young man's question, his daughter Master Chu Jeong Byun instead opened up another matter.

"I just want to know," Lee Jiang Wook replied lying.

Actually Chu Pian Ran already knew the young man's feelings for her from Xi'er. His servant had already told him many things about Lee Jiang Wook's struggle to get his heart.

"Dad didn't want me to attend the show" the girl said.

"What if the emperor asks your father to register you?" the young man asked again.

"Dad met the emperor in person today. And he told the emperor honestly that he would not register me as a candidate for concubine given my physical condition that had not fully recovered," it was obviously Chu Pian Ran that made Lee Jiang Wook truly feel relieved. The heavy burden in his heart seemed to be released.

"You must be happy to hear this news, right?" the girl tried to lure the young man who was sitting next to her left.

"Of course I'm happy. Just imagine, if the emperor really chose you to be the concubine of his son of course we will not be able to get close anymore" Lee Jiang Wook said.

The two men stopped talking when the waiter came to deliver their order.

"Better now we quickly finish this meal. If it's too long, surely uncle and aunt will be anxious because they continue to worry about you" the handsome young man suggested.

Before long, the two of them then ate quietly without any chatter.

Currently, Lee Jiang Wook and Chu Pian Ran were already in front of the Chu family residence. As the young man had expected, Chu Jeong Byun's uncle and aunt had been waiting for the return of his only daughter restlessly.

"Ran'er baby, are you home, son? Are you all right?" the middle-aged woman asked with anxious feelings while holding both of her daughter's shoulders.

"I'm fine ma'am... Mother need not worry..," Chu Pian Ran replied.

"Thank God," Chu Jeong Byun was relieved to hear his daughter's reply.

"Sorry uncle and aunt, I have made you anxious" Lee Jiang Wook said frankly.

"It's okay Lee, the important thing is now that Ran'er has returned home safely. Uncle thanked me for taking good care of Ran'er until now," replied Mr. Chu Jeong Byun.

"Uncle does not need to thank. Lee sincerely did all this because Lee had considered the uncle's family like his own relatives," said the handsome young man.

"Now it's night, you'd better get home. Don't forget to say our regards to your parents" continued the middle-aged man.

A few seconds later, Lee Jiang Wook said goodbye to the Chu family. Her footsteps felt light after gaining clarity from Chu Pian Ran that she did not participate in the selection of a prospective concubine.
