Brutal Family
Part 8 Seringai

"Hi, Jay!"

Early in the morning Jaya was sitting on her bike, in my yard, whistling with her pet parrot Papa. Papa welcomes Jaya with pleasure. Another reason Papa was so happy to see Jaya was because he didn't have to take me to school.

We rode a bike, the difference was I was the driver was no longer standing. Jaya said, I have to familiarize myself with the surrounding environment. When leaving on a bike we can cross paths with the villagers and I should be able to greet them.

"Because you have Indonesian blood, not Canadian."

Always wise and full of insinuations. Fortunately he was handsome. At least Jaya's face never tired of being seen from afar let alone near.

"That's Raka's sister, her name is Raina," pointed Jaya at one shoulder-haired woman. Jaya was introducing me to anyone at a cousin gathering yesterday. I didn't get to know them. Because yes, they are not interested in my presence. So I have to find out about them. One way is to ask Jaya to tell them.

"Which one is it?"

"The rabbit, just came out of the student cooperative. Raka with Raina Bi Lisna's children. Raka is good at socializing. He's also the head of our school's OSIS."

"Like you, good at socializing ya."

Jaya chuckles blandly, "Everyone needs to socialize, Bungah."

"Yes, yeah. Continue."

"Well, that's Anggara."

We spent the rest hours walking around school. Jay introduced almost all of his existing cousins. Some other schools.

It turns out that the cousins' association in this family is a pretty organized micro-organization. There is a chairman, a deputy, and a treasurer. They are elected annually based on the number of votes. For this year Jaya is a strong candidate to replace the current Kang Bagas-chairman. Kang Bagas is the second oldest cousin, he is in his final semester of college. That is also the reason why the accelerated replacement of the chairman, because of the busy Kang Bagas himself.

"The Bagas is my brother."

I understand now, Jaya is not happy to be called the next strong candidate chairman. She did not want to be considered a monopoly of power because of her brother. Whereas,

"Heman deserves it."

according him.

"Why should they point to someone else if they want you, Jay?"

"Because if I go forward, I'm in violation of the order. Heman is older than me."

"Aren't you guys the same age?"

"Hmm, no. He's older."

We even worry about who is older. Actually Jaya does not want to be called old. Basic Jaya.

After the bell rang, Jaya turned her head towards the door. I quickly tidied the study equipment into the bag following Jaya to the outside.

"Jay, I'm going to go to the bathroom first."

"Oh, yes it's here your bag let me hold it."

"Jay!" as if. "I'm not going to run away."

Jaya chuckles, "I mean let you not carry heavy bags. I'll wait here ya."

Jaya received my tasku. I ran towards the restroom myself. Can't stand peeing anymore. Up there, quiet, the doors open. This is the closest room to my class. Rather than me peeing in the corridor, I beat my fear in this restroom.

Outside of the boisterous people coming out of the classroom made my breath exhale. What I have in mind is always horror. Not to mention the stories of the Goddess about this school. There was a development of the Goddess's judes attitude, at least she wanted to talk to me. However, the building supports ghost stories. I compared my old school.

The door opened with water flowing from the tap and my head turned to the wall, and the dull ceiling of the house for the spider. I'm done, open the door immediately and ...

There's no one. The tap opens, allowing the water to flow. Distracted by Papa's words to keep the environment through saving water, I turned the tap to leave a slow drip sound.

A moment of wet fingers patting the cheeks, tidying the hair for a while. Miss Nada asked me to change my hair to a natural color. The teachers don't believe my natural hair color is dark brown. Sucks.

A moment later I jumped in shock into the trash can. In the big mirror was a woman standing behind me. But there is only me alone. The doors of the washroom were wide open, meaning that no one had entered but me from earlier.

My eyeballs are not calm in the face of all this new stuff. The woman full of blood was grinning at the mirror. Moving slowly creates a blood scratch there.

He often shows up when I'm alone. I didn't tell Papa, because surely Renata will be called back home. I better not tell anyone.

"Well!"

"You lay eggs on a wc huh? Jaya until you find me."

"I-i. Where are you going?"

"I'm gonna piss. Why does your face look like you've seen a ghost like that."

"N-no, Wi." I grieved strangely, the Goddess was in the shower. "I first Wi, I'll see Jaya first. Looks like he's taking her home together."

"OKAY. Bye, dude!" the Goddess's reply echoed from within.

"Yes. Bc ...."

I'm running immediately. Bergidig glanced at the mirror.

"Don't you?"

I'm turning. Brother Heman stopped by the side of the road.

"Hi, Brother," I said.

"Hey. Picked up Om Lingga?"

I'm shaking.

"Let me take you home."

"Well, come home with me, Hem."Jay appeared pushing his bike.

"You're the same as him?" ask Kak Heman while pointing at Jaya.

"Yes, brother, I'm the same Jaya."

Brother Heman smiled wryly, then nodded before leaving on his bike. I felt a different aura being between them. Until Jaya told me to sit down, I could breathe a sigh of relief.

I was sitting in the back seat of Jaya. He deliberately added the seat so that I did not stand still when he was rammed. Jaya's sweet treatment will make anyone feel special. Before falling into any further feelings, I always reminded myself, Jaya is a cousin.

But it can't ....

I was always weak to face Jaya's sweet attitude. I am a woman and she is a man. Many say the friendship between women and men is almost zero. It may be there but rarely lasts long.

"What the hell do you think, man?"

"Hm? Notwithstanding. I'm a-" Undeniable of our closeness, I wish more. That's if Jaya has the same desire. I ended up chuckling to myself.

Jaya may be weird about my attitude right now. He laughed so blandly.

"What's free?"

"Not so, Jay. I'm just glad I finally have a friend here" I said tightening the grip on Jaya's stomach. Not a hundred percent lie, I'm happy to be near Jaya and Dewi.

Jaya didn't give any response, and I thought there was no need either.

Enjoying the ride home with Jaya, I hummed a little. The songs I chose were random as he remembered.

The big banyan tree was already visible from far away. The sign will soon arrive at my village. All the way left I continued to hum, until past the banyan tree my eyes blinked.

I turned to the banyan tree earlier when the distance almost left far away. Right, someone is standing there. She's a woman whose mouth is covered in blood. I smiled so much that I heard her murmur. He followed Jaya's bike pace. Moving from each side of the house and the trees.

My breath was blocked for a moment. Unknowingly my hand gripped tightly onto Jaya's uniform.

"Dude, frow---"

My body was hollow without being anticipated to hit the hard of the rocky road. They are falling into billions of dust. My hand fists when something feels warm flowing. The red color I found there. Also the woman whose mouth was covered in blood was ringing eeriely at my toe. Faintly a humming.

Jaya's shout approached with footsteps so quickly. His bike he threw. His worried face blocked my view of the woman. My ears were ringing when Jaya asked me to keep my consciousness. Only Jaya looked more panicked moving her mouth. My eyelids slow down, until it's pitch dark to meet again.

The woman laughed too.
