The atmosphere of the morning on the outskirts of Jakarta is no longer what it used to be.
The scent of leaves that became a natural fragrance no longer smelled my nose.
Sometimes the sound of chicken crows seems reluctant to be heard.
Jakarta has changed a lot.
Progress is happening everywhere.
Shadows flashed in my hometown in the past.
The air and aroma of the soil in the morning are refreshing
Alongside with the sound of crows rooster roosting so loud.
Jakarta is getting old.
Hayati Nur Amalia's
The name my parents gave me since 25 years ago.
I was born to parents from Betawi. Since I was born I have been in Jakarta.
Like other Betawi people, both my parents stayed here even before I was born.
My neighborhood still feels the atmosphere of the village. Because it is located on the outskirts of Jakarta.
Babe whose daily life is Civil Servant assigned to be Camat in the area where we live. Nyak has Betawi arts hangars such as Lenong, Tanjidor and Mask.
I still have my grandfather whom I used to call Kong Ali, Kong Ali is my Dad. Kong Ali has a Betawi Silat college that is still active today.
Like other Betawi children, I still try to preserve the Betawi culture even though I am the current generation.
Because Babe, Nyak and Kong Ali often advised that in order to continue to maintain and preserve the Betawi culture so as not to become extinct in the past.
Moreover, my house every day is always crowded with members of the studio and students of silat college.
So I grew up with the Betawi culture attached.
Even so, Babe always instilled that even though I was a girl education was also very important.
When I wanted to continue S2 Babeh, Nyak and Kong Ali were supportive. They are even very happy because today men and women have the same rights in education and careers.
Like this morning we used to start the day with congregational Fajr Prayer in our Mushola neighborhood.
At that time Kong Ali who became an Imam as well as a preacher.
In his lectures Kong Ali gave many societal values, especially about tolerance and gotong royong.
...Submitting the Fajr Sermon delivered by Kong Ali:...
...Why should humans be tolerant? Religion states that man is a social being, must be different, it is not only necessity but it is necessity. But at the same time, God wants us to be together. With God, with all men. Because we all come from the same father and mother. The inevitability of difference and the necessity of unity that leads man must be tolerant....
... ...
...Again we ask, why are we tolerant? Because all human beings crave peace, without tolerance there can be no peace. All of us desire prosperity, without tolerance there will be no benefit. All of us want progress, without tolerance progress will not be achieved....
...From here, they also provide tolerance, not only in community life but also in religious life. I will give some examples from the verses of the Quran, even from the history of the Prophet S.A.W. How can we see his high tolerance, how high tolerance taught by the Quran, to bring peace and prosperity. Not only for Muslims, but for the whole people, the whole society, even the whole of humanity. ...
...We both know, the Prophet stated that “aku was sent to bring a religion full of tolerance.” When the Hudaibiyah Agreement occurred, at that time, in its concept the Prophet wrote the sentence Bismillahi ar-Rahmani ar-Rahim. However, the Mushrooms were not approved. They asked to be written to be Bismikallahumma. The Prophet said to Ali ibn Abi Thalib “remove basmalah and writebismicallahumma according to their proposal!” The Prophet composed and declared: “this is the agreement between Muhammad the Prophet and the representatives of the polytheists Mecca.” The leader of the delegation of the polytheists said “if we had acknowledged you as an apostle of God, we would not have fought you. Write “this agreement between Muhammmad son of Abdullah!” The apostle said “remove the word of the Prophet and replace it with Muhammad son of Abdillah!” Sayidina Ali and her friends do not want to tolerate this, they are reluctant to remove it. But the tolerant Prophet removed 7 words for the sake of benefit, for the sake of peace....
... ...
...We must not sacrifice aqidah for tolerance, but at the same time we must not sacrifice tolerance in the name of aqidah....
...Therefore there are many verses of the Quran that speak or encourage us to be tolerant. Read Saba’'s letter (34) verses 25 and 26. You will find there that the Prophet is taught to convey to the polytheists, to the non-Muslims, that we or you are in the truth or the true heresy. Maybe we are right, maybe we are wrong. But then God will gather us, and He will decide who is right, who is wrong. This does not mean sacrificing aqidah by saying that we are wrong. But for the sake of a peaceful society, do not blame anyone. Let's say maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong....
...Bismillahi ar-rahmani…...
...“Oh Allah…...
...We plead with you. With “La ilaha illallah” there is no God but You, the Most Forgiving and Most Noble. Open our chests, open the doors of our hearts, take away the anger and fanaticism that is in our hearts. Grant us the ability to practice your tolerant religion....
The atmosphere is so solemn, Jamaah really permeates the content of the morning sermon delivered by Kong Ali.
At exactly 05:30 Jamaat left the mosque.
Resuming their respective activities.
One of Kong Ali's pieces of advice we never forget is about the Ethos and Spirit of Work.
...*One of the verses pointing to this problem is a verse...
...Al*-Qur’an surat al-Jumu’ah verse 10, which means:...
...“When Salat has been offered, so spread you on the earth; and seek the bounty of Allah and remember Allah much so that you may be fortunate.” ...
From this verse we can conclude how as human beings we must have a Work Ethic in whatever field is occupied.
The Islamic work ethic is according to the character and habits of man with work, radiated from the Islamic faith/aqidah system which is a fundamental attitude towards him.
The work ethic of Islam is an earnest effort, exerting all his abilities, thoughts, and thoughts to actualize or manifest his meaning as a servant of God who must subjugate the world.
Every Muslim should be able to put himself as part of the best society (khairul ummah) or in other words we can also say just by working man it humanizes himself.
The Islamic work ethic is moral in working in accordance with Islamic values so that in carrying it out there is no need to think about it because his soul has believed it to be something good and right.
