The image of silence had not answered David and at that time, David immediately knew that Citra had special feelings for him. Maybe all this time he was too forcing Citra to want to connect with him. He should have known but it felt really sick, the person he loved for three years never loved him.
"I understand now, forgive me for forcing you to be with me" David said, rising to his feet as well as Citra.
"David, I ...."
"May you be truly happy with William" David interrupted Citra's remark.
He smiled and after that he stepped towards the door, Imagra was like a dazed person. Why did David say that again?
"David Wait!" The image chased after David and David stopped his pace for a moment.
"David, I don't understand what to answer and I don't know what you're feeling right now but please answer me honestly just this once" Citra said.
"What do you want to know? I will answer honestly" said David,
"Thank you, David. Now answer me, what do you choose? Me? Or your best friend?" ask Citra while looking at her face.
David thought about the Citra question well, he knew it would be a little difficult but Citra should know the answer.
"I'm sorry, I love you but I don't want to lose my best friend either. I ...," David's words stopped because Citra interrupted his words.
"Alright, David. There's no need for you to continue because I already know the answer," Citra tried to smile.
"What do you know, Citra?"
Citra's face looked sad, but she tried to hold back her tears. Though he hoped for David but it seems impossible because David could not choose him.
"If William hadn't shown up that night, had I been telling you the truth, would you still have accepted me when you found out I was the wife of your best friend, David?" The image looked at David with teary eyes.
"I told you I was going to say something important after Doni's wedding and this is what I wanted to tell you, how? Will things change? Will you not doubt?" asked Citra again while wiping away her tears that began to flow from her two eyes.
"I really hope you'll accept me for who I am and help me so I can get divorced with William and after that we're in a serious relationship but it turns out?" The image was unable to continue his words and wipe away his still flowing tears.
David was silent, it was true that Citra said. Had William not appeared and he known the truth from the mouth of Citra, then what would he have done? Will she accept and help Citra get divorced with her best friend?
David stared at Citra without being able to answer her question because he would definitely choose his best friend William.
"Thank you, David. You want to love me even if I don't deserve to love you. Anyhow the answer from you is only one. You're a good man, David, but I don't think your kindness is for me. Thank you for helping me so much" Citra said and she tried to smile behind her cries.
David stepped closer to Citra and tried to hold her hand but Citra immediately brushed off David's hand because she didn't want to look so pitiful anymore.
"I'm sorry Citra, if William wasn't my best friend, I would have preferred you" he said.
The image smiled bitterly at David's words. So if William shows up or not that night, if David knows the truth, it is certain David will not accept it and will prefer his best friend.
"No, David. I'm the one who apologized for not telling you sooner. I'm sorry I didn't mean to ruin your friendship because I really don't know."
David hugged Citra's body, it was the last hug for the woman he loved.
"Thank you for coming into my life and giving me happiness" David said, taking off his arms and leaving.
The cry of Citra was increasingly broken seeing the departure of David who made up for the swift rain out there. Really he didn't want them to be like this but everything was beyond their will.
"I'm sorry, David. I'm sorry," The image covered his face using both hands.
David took his car away through the torrent of rain and hit the driver of his car many times. The tears that he had been holding back from earlier were already flowing. Why do they have to be like this? Why is fate playing them? He can choose Citra but he will never want to destroy the friendship that has been established for a long time with William just because they love the same woman.
David turns on his car engine and stomps on his gas.he dies right Citra's house with regret. Why did he not choose his beloved woman earlier??deep down, David desperately wants to choose Citra but he cannot destroy his friendship with William just because a woman.David was driving hard to make up for the rain.
David leaves with pain because he cannot choose and be with the person he loves but he hopes, William can improve his relationship with Citra and he also hopes, Citra will forgive William's actions. After all, everyone deserves a second chance to correct his mistakes right?
The image still stood in front of the door feeling disappointed, the night wind that hit him was not he ignored. Actually he really hopes David will accept him but it seems David is a loyal friend, there is no way he will destroy his friendship with William just because of him and he is too hopeful.
William walked towards her and wiped his tears gently, he heard David and Citra talk earlier and the person who should be blamed was himself because he had wasted Citra. If David wanted to snatch the Image from him, David would have been able to get the Image easily because the current image still hated him but he knew, David was not that kind of person.
"I'm sorry it's all because of me" he said, hugging Citra's body.
"Go you!!" shouted Image angrily while pushing William.
"Don't be like this, dear," William was about to hug Citra back because his embrace was released but Citra dodged and walked towards the door.
"Go!" yell, image full of emotion.
"It's raining outside, honey. I'll go but tomorrow" said William.
"Fuck the rain and I don't care! If you don't want to go, then I'll go!" scream Image again.
"Don't, you'll be sick. I'll go so don't get angry anymore" William said as he walked to the door.
The image slammed the door tightly after William came out and locked the door. He did not care about William and immediately went into the room. He hopes William leaves from there and tomorrow he doesn't see him again. He didn't want to see William's face anymore and he didn't want to see David's face either. Enough is enough and they will become memories that are not easy for him to forget. The image wants to be like that but unfortunately, William will not give up and he will show David if he means it and will not disappoint his friend who is willing to sacrifice.
