Because of Lent
Chapter 45. Divorce Trial

****

Today is Vina's divorce judgment day. It has been more than a month Vina cut off communication with the Pras family. His life was calm again. Vina went through a month-long routine with a focus on her lectures and occasionally going out to meet with Enzo.

"You're going alone, Vin?"

"Yes, Mother. Later there the same meeting with Fahri and his lawyer."

"Yes, already. Careful of you."

"Yes, Mother. Sure. Do'ain good luck, yeah." Vina finally left her house by taxi. Vina had already prepared her heart to meet her ex-husband later. Vina's phone rang, there was an incoming call from her brother.

"What's up, brother?"

"It's still on the road. It's jammed."

"Yes, I'll let you know when I get there." After turning off the phone connection, Vina's body suddenly crashed forward. His head hit the driver's car seat in front of him.

"God.shhh." Vina hissed while holding her forehead."

"Sir, are you okay?" vina asked, instead of paying attention to herself, she was worried for the taxi driver in front of her.

"Sa-yes well, Non," said the taxi driver. Vina's head barks forward. It turns out that in front of the victim was dragged to cause traffic jams.

"So soon, I'm going down first, that's why they're looking, anyway?" Vina went down and approached the victim.

"Have anyone contacted the hospital?" vina asked while circulating her eyes. Everyone in the area shook their heads. Vina was made to look at the behavior of humans today. Many of them lack empathy and forget their obligations as fellow living beings. They were busy photographing and recording, not daring to approach the victim for many reasons.

Vina immediately pulled out her phone and called the hospital asking for an ambulance. Vina even contacted her brother's acquaintance police. It did not take long, the ambulance arrived along with the police acquaintance of his brother.

"Vin, why is this?"

"Passed the car, sir, but the car ran away" said a man still standing there.

"So hit-and-run?"

"Yes, Mas. I need to go to the religious court now. I'm handing over all the same to you, Mom."

"Yes, just stay. I'll do the same thing with the hospital. Thanks, yeah, you called me."

"Hihihi.. whereas I just want to add the work of the mas aja." Vina finally passed, she re-entered her cab and continued on. Hopefully her brother is not angry, it turns out Vina has spent almost 1 hour at the accident site earlier.

Vina comes really late from the time she had promised Fahri, Fahri waiting anxiously for the arrival of his sister.

"Yes for a second, where's Vina going, anyway?" fahri gusar said.

Fahri, Fadil and Fahri's lawyer entered the courtroom, before long Pras was also seen entering with the lawyer he hired.

Fahri seemed indifferent to Pras' presence. He was busy calling his sister. From the door that opened, Vina ran away with a breath. Pras looked at Vina with a gaze that was difficult to explain. Fahri immediately stood up to his sister.

"Why is it so long?"

"Sorry, Brother. There was an accident while I was on my way here" Vina said. Fahri immediately glared, he thought his sister's taxi had an accident, Fahri turned Vina's body and looked at it closely.

"Not me, brother, but someone else. I came down to help the victim. I also called Brother Eagle." Fahri was relieved his sister was okay. However, as Fahri tidied Vina's hair, the young woman groaned.

"Aaww. sick, Brother." Pras immediately stood up when he heard Vina's groan. However, seeing the sharp look of Fahri's gaze he sat back down.

"This why?" fahri asked worriedly while rubbing the lump on his sister's forehead that was blue, even slightly bleeding.

"Aaaw, don't touch, brother. It hurt so bad, the taxi driver braked suddenly, I didn't wear a seatbelt," said Vina lowered her head. Fahri did not so nag Vina because the Prosecutor and the judge had just entered the courtroom. Fahri pulled his sister to sit down.

Vina momentarily glanced at her ex-husband. The man's face turned thin and unkempt. The feathers that grew on his chin increasingly looked bushy. Her ex-husband's face looked older.

Vina sat down next to her sister. After the judge read out Vina and Pras's divorce verdict, Pras looked down on her. A single tear escaped through the corner of his eye. Now all that's left of her life is regret.

While outdoors, Vina asks her brother for permission to talk to her ex-husband one last time. Fahri allows it and leaves Vina there.

"Vina, I'm sorry, Mas" said Pras, his eyes so shady and sad.

"I'm sorry, too, Mom. Maybe as long as I'm Pras' wife, I've done a lot wrong."

"No, you're not wrong. It's all my fault and I'm sorry for what you've been doing all this time."

"No problem, Mom. I've forgiven you a long time."

"Oh, yes, Vin. I don't know if this amount is enough or not. I want to pay my mother's debt to you."

"It doesn't matter, Mas. I've already released the money."

"Please don't reject it" Pras said. Vina finally accepted it.
