Because of Lent
Chapters 18. The journey to Jogja

*****

Fadil turned around after getting permission from Vina's sister. He drove his car to the train station. From the info given by Vina's eldest sister, the train became a very memorable transportation for her only sister. Because last before both their parents died Vina had felt the transportation ride with her father and her mother.

"Kok turn it over here?"

"I can't force myself to bring a car. Mr. Fahri said, he doesn't want you exhausted on the way."

"Then what are we going up, Mas Fadil?"

Fadil only turned a glance and smiled, subconsciously Vina pursed her lips in annoyance. Along the way that was quite jammed that afternoon Vina threw her gaze towards the streets. Vina's phone hasn't stopped shaking since. Every now and then the woman took a rough breath and exhaled it with a riled face.

"Mas .... "

"Yes, what's wrong, Miss?"

"How do you feel about Fadil now?"

Fadil seemed to be thinking while tapping his finger at the wheel. He himself did not know the form of his feelings right now. Angry, disappointed, sad but his heart also felt grateful. He felt grateful because he had not expressed his desire to propose to Nilam Sari.

"Mas Fadil, I wait for the answer, you know," said Vina impatiently.

"I don't know, Miss. Because today my feelings are mixed. Angry, disappointed and sad, but out of all three, I feel very grateful. I haven't proposed to her for a more serious relationship." Fadil turned his head slightly trying to see the look on his nona face.

"Yes, Fadil must be grateful, because God is still good to show who Nilam Sari is before you are in a serious relationship. Not like me who's wet, lulled with the little things he did to me, but in the end he's also the one who incised the deepest wound in my heart."

"Eh, that's not what I mean" said Mas Fadil feeling bad for Vani.

"Huh, stop it, Mom. It is my fate that is less than fortunate. Sometimes I think it's all my fault. If I had followed Fahri and Kak Fauzi's wishes to study in Australia, I probably wouldn't have had this fate."

Fadil was speechless when he heard Vina's complaint, but soon he smiled when he saw Vina staring at the writing in front of Senen Station. He felt like making up for Vina's sadness when he saw the bright twinkle in the woman's eyes.

"We're taking the train, Mas?"

"Yes, take the train. What was? are you feeling uncomfortable?"

"Ti-no, this exceeded my expectations, Mas," Vina said as she shook Fadil's arm. Fadil glanced at the tip of Vina's fingers perched on his arm. Then he smiled when he saw her smile.

"Let's get off, I've booked the ticket, lucky not to coincide with the holiday. Otherwise I can't be sure if I can still get a ticket or not. May I borrow your ID, miss?"

"Call me Vina, Mas. The effect is so stiff. Anyway I like it when Fadil says I'm you, not me you. We're rich strangers."

Fadil only nodded as Vina took out the ID card from inside her wallet. Fadil takes Vina in a waiting chair before she leaves the woman to take care of their ticket. After getting the ticket, Fadil bought two bottles of mineral water and handed one of them to Vina.

"The train is leaving in half an hour, do you want to buy something?"

"I'm going to go into that shop for a second, Mas Fadil just wait here."

"Let me buy it" said Fadil.

"Me, Mas. Me, Mas Fadil," press Vina.

"Ok, I'll buy it."

Hearing Vina's last words, Fadil finally let the young woman into a mart that was available at the station. Within 10 minutes, Vina had already appeared with quite a lot of luggage. Fortunately Vina is a very nice girl. With that much groceries, he also bought 2 bags of eco-friendly fabric.

"Mas Fadil hold one and this one let me take it. Uh we're getting into the train now it's okay, right?"

"Yes, we'd better get in. 10 minutes later the train's leaving." Vina nodded and started getting into the train. Since then his heart has been pounding because today he will repeat happy memories with his parents, just with different situations and also different people, too, but at least by riding the train today, the longing for both parents was slightly treated.

Vina rubbed her seat, she gave a smile as her memories flew when she was with her parents. Her father once teased her by saying Vina could not sit next to her father because her mother would definitely be jealous.

"Vina, miss daddy," said Vina.

Fadil silently stared at the sad look of his young Miss, he was still standing behind the late Vina with his memories with his two parents. When he felt the train start to move, Fadil unconsciously held Vina's shoulder so that the woman did not fall into a daze.

Vina flinched in shock. He sat next to the window. His once gloomy face was now smiling enthusiastically. Fadil finally put his ass in the passenger seat. The train was running fast, Vina was enjoying the ride without much noise. He even occasionally cool selfie as if he did not have the burden of problems in his life.

Fadil occasionally glanced at the young woman, a thin smile at the corner of his lips not so clearly visible, but from the look of his eyes he was amazed at his superior brother. At a time when all his family was thinking about his feelings, but he looked relaxed.

"Mas, if you have the opportunity to repeat the time, what would Mas Fadil do?" asked Vina suddenly spread Fadil's mind.

"I want to show my devotion to my late father" replied Fadil, Vina sighing tired of hearing Fadil's answer who still uses my word. The man seemed to be emphasizing the boundary between himself and Vina.

"Suami bu Risma has passed away a long time ago" Vina said.

"Yes, my dad died when I was just in 1st grade High School. I've never shown him my time."

"Then pray hard now to be a filial son."

"Yes.... "

The mood returned to silence. Over time Vina felt drowsiness began to attack him, he leaned against the train's glass window and began to shut. Vina no longer felt the tremors of the still speeding train. Fadil looked at Vina's face. He did not know what his young lady was like, because this was only the first time they were this close, before Fadil had rarely met Vina even though his mother had long devoted herself in the Adiatirta family home.
