Bad Heaven's
section sixteen

Kara's eyes were unable to blink as the pain began to appear on her cheeks. His father's breath seemed to be hunting, so angry. Not much different from his father, his mother also looked at him no less upset.

"DAMN KID! YOU ALMOST EMBARRASSED THIS FAMILY!" berang Wijaya after throwing a hard slap.

Kara was unable to do anything. He did not fight or argue, just silently berated by his parents.

"YOU WANT TO RUN AWAY WITH YOUR BROTHER?! YOU WANT TO BE A USELESS CHILD AFTER WHAT WE'VE GIVEN YOU?! YOU DON'T KNOW THANK YOU!"

Wijaya moved away with a thumping step, his mother who was still there only mumbled sharply before following her husband. "We're disappointed, Kara."

The girl was silent for a few minutes before smiling wryly as she rubbed her hot cheeks and began to swell. Kara climbed the stairs, walking slowly towards her room. A few minutes ago he was still smiling as he was ushered in by Bian before this happened.

Kara locked the door to her room, then sat down at the end of the bed. He took hot water and a towel and then compressed his cheek. The cry that he had been enduring broke. Her tears flowed profusely, but her sobbing was so small, Kara held her back.

In silence Kara again cried herself before finally falling asleep from exhaustion.

Kara wakes up when the air in her room starts to heat up. He was surprised when he saw the sun was already very bright and the clock on the nightstand showed at one noon. Oh, my God, he never woke up. Don't question her parents who don't care.

Kara wants to get up and hurry to pack because thirty minutes are left with a lecture schedule, but suddenly she paused when her body felt uncomfortable to move.

As he predicted, a call from Bian came in. Kara lifted.

"Are you ready, Ra?" ask Bian across.

Kara breathed a moment. "I... Can't get in today, like,"

"You why? It hurt?" bian asked immediately hearing a strange tone from Kara. "Are your parents angry yesterday?" he said slowly in the last sentence. Bian clearly understood how the girl's family life had been.

Kara just smiled a little. "Hmm, I want to take a shower and have breakfast - lunch means I woke up late today."

There was a long silence for a few moments. "What if I pick you up? We eating out?"

"But you don't have a lecture?"

"Don't think about it, you get ready first, Ra, we're eating out."

Kara agreed. Anyway, there's a good thing. He did not sit idly by contemplating his problems at home.

A few minutes later Kara finished packing and Bian's car roared in front of her yard.

"Why wear a mask?" bian asked to see Kara wearing her black mask.

"I'm not feeling well anymore" he said, getting into the car.

Silent for a while, Bian's eyes widened and the man's jaw tightened furiously. "WHO DID THIS?! YOUR PARENTS?!" bian shouted to see there was a bruise on the girl's chip. "ANSWER, RA!" Bian was unable to control himself, his emotions suddenly bursting, a feeling of inadmissibility that was so deep.

"KARA!!!" bian yelled, not getting an answer.

"BIAN!" Kara snapped. "It's just one slap, no problem, I'm wrong anyway" the girl lowered her head a little.

"No! No one can do that to you!" Kara noticed the change in the intonation of the male voice. "Though it's your parents!"

"Bi, relax!" Kara takes one of Bian's hands to be in the car's steering wheel. "I'm fine, okay?"

Bian's eyes still looked angry, sharp and Kara trembled slightly, recalling another incident a few years ago. Not again, Ra, not again.

"I'm fine, Bi, it's natural because I was wrong, I almost embarrassed the family for running away from dinner yesterday-,"

"BUT THAT'S NOT HOW IT IS! NOT BY HURTING YOU!" his yell.

"Hey, calm down, I'm fine," Kara hurriedly pulled Bian's body into her arms, calming the man's emotions. "I'm okay."

Bian let out a heavy sigh, his chin still hardened, angry, but joined Kara's strong embrace.

They were silent for a while in that state. After feeling Bian calm, Kara put her head away a little. "When is the consular schedule?"

"Tomorrow, three o'clock."

Kara nodded. "I'll be friends."

Bian nodded, then pulled Kara back into his arms. Smelled the girl.

"Bi, whatever you're thinking right now, I don't want you to think about doing something with my parents, no matter how they are my parents, do you understand?" kara whispered quietly and hesitantly.

Bian's eyes closed open. He was silent for a moment before muttering a little.

Kara distanced their bodies, then looked at Bian right in the eye. "I'm serious, you know what I'm as determined as you are, right?"

And Bian's body stiffened hearing the implied threat. His eyes looked at Kara sharply. "Kara!" then he pulled the girl back into his arms.

"You have to promise!"

"Yes, I promise, just so you don't realize your threat."
