Chapter 024: Saving a Family

Fan Chen let Fu Shen pave the way when he bought the 100© Smart Glasses that were directly connected to the radar, but the radar this time was different, unlike the one he used first. This radar can distinguish between humans and zombies.

Fan Chen also bought a 500© Scanning Drone, he took it out through the window. Fly down to the ground floor, then go up again to the top floor by surrounding to scan the entire building.

"We're going up to the thirteenth floor."

In Fan Chen's view, in the air in front of him was a 3D hologram that built the structure of the building very clearly: starting from the rooms, the furniture inside, and the points that signify humans and zombies.

These Smart Glasses are like VR devices, but are thinner and lighter, not feeling uncomfortable when worn. It can scan temperatures with infrared light, and will sometimes emit infrasound sounds to scan for what is around it that cannot be scanned by infrared light.

So when wearing Smart Glasses, from the user's point of view, even when blocked by walls, can show what is behind the wall. But not showing the original form, only the red lines that make up a human or zombie, as well as the very minimal movement that can not be heard by the human ear, will be detected by Smart Glasses.

The most important of all things is night vision. This is especially important for killing zombies in times of limited lighting sources.

However this is only low-grade technology, because until now Fan Chen could only buy technology below 1000©. He could not buy the one on it, and the technology purchased with Yuan(¥) was just technology that was on the market in the form of upgrades.

Fu Shen put on his Smart Glasses, then observed the zombie corpses beneath him. Infrared rays scanned the corpses of zombies, and from his perspective, there were red streaks that formed crystals, it was flickering.

Fu Shen crouched down, took out a knife and dissected the zombie head. He looked at the Clear-colored Energy Crystal, signaling that this Energy Crystal was worse than the one he found on the emergency stairs.

Fan Chen received the Energy Crystals and instantly stored them without looking at their quality.

Then the two rushed up the emergency stairs again, but this time did not directly go up to the intended floor, but rather cleaned up all the zombies that were on each floor. With the Smart Glasses, hunting them both more effectively, they could know where the zombies were, so they could get ready and no longer need to sneak around.

So it didn't take long to go to the intended floor despite having to surround each floor to kill zombies.

From the sight of the two, they saw many red lines that formed the bodies of zombies. What distinguishes zombies from humans is the point of light in the middle of the body structure: if humans are orange, then the zombies will be slightly dim, there is even a hint of blackness.

On this 13th floor there was only one room inhabited by human survivors, the rest had been eaten or turned into mindless zombies that roamed everywhere.

Of all the floors, only this floor was storing humans. The other floors were human, but over time, it would continue to decrease. The humans on the top floor were going down, trying their luck to fight the zombies, but due to lack of weapons and lack of skills, they were killed by the zombies.

Fan Chen also controlled the Penetrating View Drone outside to search for holes to sneak in, then made a sound to lure the zombies away.

Through the Smart Glasses, they saw the hotel structure clearly and saw the red dots that started to rise from the ground floor, and they saw that some of the red dots would disappear upon entering the hotel, this explains that the fire on the ground floor is still burning.

The drone managed to enter the floor through one of the broken windows, and it looked like it was broken by visitors. But, solve it using what, no one knows, considering the thickness of this glass is able to withstand the weight of the car.

In contrast to Fan Chen earlier, even though he hit the glass until it broke, but it was not as simple as hitting it with a fist. He has his own advantages, namely technology.

After the Penetrating View Drone fished out a herd of zombies, Fu Shen opened the door and faced left while opening fire.

Fan Chen faced to the right, fired the same shot, and every shot would hit the head section, killing every zombie.

Fu Shen followed behind Fan Chen and occasionally fired a shot back.

Until finally they both stopped in front of the door with the number 778 hanging in front of him.

Fan Chen could hear the sound of nervous breathing from within. There were two small children hiding on the other side of the bed, and both were hugged by a woman. Behind the door, there was a man standing guard, raising a chair and getting ready to attack.

"His body is strong, his muscles are perfectly formed, although not some kind of Hulk, like record-breaking strong people, but these muscles are really amazing. This guy's from the military."

Fan Chen sighed. He stretched out his hand holding the doorknob, then forcefully pulled it until it shook, and finally the electronic device on the doorknob was successfully tampered with.

Fu Shen had already kept a weapon, he was ordered not to kill this man. But there's no problem to knock it out.

Fu Shen raised his right hand, resisting the attack. Then suddenly he knelt down, twisted his body on the floor and kicked his opponent's foot with the heel of his right foot.

This attack was extremely fast, even though this man was from the military, it was still impossible to compete in terms of speed with Fu Shen who was an artificial man using the highest technology.

The man lost his balance, and suddenly he was already lying on the floor with his gaze looking at the ceiling of the room.

"Don't!"

The woman who was hiding on the other side of the bed, stood up and shouted with water running down the corner of her eyes.

Fu Shen stood up while patting his hands.

Fan Chen walked up to the middle-aged man and removed the Smart Glasses. He ignored the woman who shouted and said, "Are you from the military? I'll just go straight, go with me, go back to the Refuge, and you won't be short of food."

The middle-aged man gritted his teeth, but he did not want to fight anymore because his wife was already crying, let alone the cries of his young son and daughter keeping him quiet. "What if I refuse? Are you going to kill us?"

Seeing the man sitting down, Fan Chen did not stop him and again said, "I will not kill you. Our refuge is short of manpower, you come, we welcome you. If you refuse? I don't care, we leave you here, and we leave. But, can you let your family live in a place like this? A place filled with zombies, without water and food ..."

Fan Chen saw the man in front of him as weak against the family, and he added, "Even if you don't die under the zombie siege, you might starve to death."

The middle-aged man pondered, he lowered his head while clenching his hands. He never fell into a situation like this. He saw his wife who was still hugging the crying children.

Fan Chen waited for a few seconds, then stood up and left the room.

"Wait!" The man saw Fan Chen was about to leave the room, and he finally gave up. "We're coming with you!"
